On Communicating With A Progressive

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, progressives are not interested in communication, they are interested in getting in some licks. Every time I have tried to have a dialogue with a progressive they immediately use every underhanded means of debate and attack they can. Their favorites are changing the subject and baseless personal attack. They use these tactics to avoid actual discourse. No matter how polite I am, if they stay engaged, eventually they become too enraged to continue and claim I have treated them horribly! Which cannot help but make me laugh out loud. Now, I understand why they do this… even if they themselves don’t. It is because they cannot engage in logical and polite dialogue, since they are captured by the idea of progressivism, and are not really in rational control of themselves.

Jung said, people don’t get ideas, ideas get people. That we can become so enamored with an idea, like a woman, that we lose all rationality, becoming an avatar for that idea… to the exclusion of everything else. Those captured by an idea cannot talk of anything but that idea. They only become engaged when talking about it. Since they have become the idea and the idea has become them, any attack on that idea, they will see as a personal attack and will react accordingly. This gives ideas a quality of contagion. Some are more virulent than others and some are even deadly. We saw this when the idea of Nazism swept through Germany until almost every German was sick with it. It was spread by a book and contact. National Socialism falls within the greater epidemiology of progressivism.

Such contagious ideas are contracted in college and university, but since they are a contagion and not personal enlightenment, they do not stand up to discourse. In our universities today rational discourse is eschewed for a return to appeal to authority. Speakers who do not have the correct political opinions are silenced, with horns, shouting and even violence, if that is what it takes. The resulting graduates are fully captured by the idea of socialism. If not national socialism, democratic socialism, international socialism or just progressivism. But since they have never been asked to defend the idea that has so captured them, they cannot, and so have to resort to changing the subject, personal attacks and anger. The tactics that were so effective in school… tactics used to silence independent thinking teenagers.

Progressives firmly believe that rudeness trumps logic. If not consciously they act as if that is the case. Our actions say what we believe… not what we say we believe. By that measure we can see progressives do indeed believe that rudeness is superior in argumentation to logic. On one hand, they are correct, in that we are often more swayed by emotion than logic. We tend to believe what we feel even when we have reason not to believe. So, calling someone rude names is effective at reducing their message, without having to address that message. On the other hand, believing in absurdity that fosters perpetual anger, is a sub optimal path through life. It is a sure way to get regularly pummeled about the head and face by the world… no wonder they are so angry, nihilistic and hateful.

That is why it is so difficult to communicate with a progressive. They are captured by the idea of socialism’s promise, as were the Nazis, Marxists and communists, which makes them hold socialism as personal, part of them, and they feel they are part of socialism. Any questioning of socialism is questioning their personal worth. Having contracted the socialist disease, and never being forced to debate it in any meaningful way, or even hear a diverse viewpoint on the subject, they are wholly unfit to defend it in debate. That is why almost all progressives, when confronted with someone who is not a carrier of progressivism, will become rabid, even frothing at the mouth. They cannot be reasoned with… until the world has beat them about the head and face for awhile, then finally, some will awake.

Post Modern Education

It seems to me, a nation, culture and society go off the rails by the politicization of it’s education system. Education is a means to bring children into adulthood, in learning, understanding, instills civilization and gives a stake in society. If any one of these elements are left out, the education system is in fact a system for economic, social, cultural, national and indeed civilizational destruction. We are all born with a blank slate. We have only the ability to clutch and suckle, everything else we have learned. So, if someone isn’t taught something, they do not know it. If our education system leaves out critical elements of education, graduates will not know what they have not been taught, and therefore will be at a disadvantage to past generations, the home and the privately schooled.

A civilization rises and falls with it’s “Societal Myth,” as Georges Sorel put it. As long as a people maintain a close association with the societal myth that created that civilization… it will prosper. When that people have grown too cynical to believe in such nonsense, their fortunes will fail as does the civilization they inherited… and destroyed. Sorel used ancient Rome… As long as Rome adhered to it’s societal myth, it flourished, expanded without starting wars, grew in prestige, and went from a backwater city state to an empire the like of which the world had never known. Once it’s people abandoned their societal myth, their fortunes sank, until the last vestige of that once great empire, Constantinople, was destroyed by Mehmed’s army… the survivors raped and enslaved, even the nuns.

The US education system has been an indoctrination mechanism since John Dewey’s innovations. He stressed, molding children to fit society, instead of teaching them how to think, and therefore mold society. This is because he, as do most progressives, do not trust people to come to the “right” conclusions. So they use the power of government, to force parents to send their children to a government monopoly school system, indoctrinating them into the State’s subjective morality, whatever flavor that is this year. Then they are turned out, unable to think for themselves, and captured by several pernicious and self destructive ideas, into an unforgiving world where they most likely will be chewed up and spit out. Leaving them angry and nihilistic… the perfect recipe for mass shooters.

That is what Western education systems do today. What they should do is focus on teaching students to think for themselves, be strong in the face of absurdity, rather than parrot a lie that the elite find comforting, be able to continue learning after they graduate, and apply that learning. Parents must be involved in children’s education. The progressive will argue that some parents are too lazy, stupid or ignorant to have any positive impact on their children’s education, and because of that, all children must be forcefully indoctrinated into the State’s amorality. Which is saying… everyone should be treated like the bad apple. This is the way a toddler thinks, because they haven’t learned the subtleties of life yet. Education must foster understanding… not be political indoctrination.

Our education system leaves out our universal stake in society. All students must be taught they have a stake in society. That they are not is a condemnation of our entire education system. In 1900 when asked why Americans don’t want to harm the rich, The progressive economist Veblen replied, “Because every American thinks he can get rich.” That mindset was based on obvious class mobility, understanding the nature of life, individualism, a fundamental self reliance that comes of true learning and everyone having a stake in society. Dewy fixed all that. Today, graduates are sheep who don’t think they have a stake in the outcome, nihilistic, atheistic, without hope and panicked about a hoax crisis… while ignorant of real danger. Education is indeed where civilizations go off the rails.

Civilization is Neither Order Nor Disorder it is Complexity

It seems to me, our planet is in a struggle between powers and principalities, with order and chaos being the weapons arrayed against good. China is increasingly becoming the avatar for order, (except in Hong Kong) and the Middle East for disorder. Many in the West believe chaos cannot happen “here,” we are too civilized. Scratch at it with talc though, and you quickly see our civilization is not as deep or as tough as we like to think. Those who do not take time to harden themselves in every way possible, will be flotsam, as far as this battle goes. Only those able to swim against the current, think for themselves, do what is right even in the face of punishment, will not lie for profit and can stand up to withering attacks… will be able to effect this struggle.

Order might sound like it is synonymous with good… but that is far from the case. The Nazis were extremely orderly as was the NKVD. They were also evil incarnate. So we can say that order is not synonymous with good. It can be good or evil. The same holds with chaos, it is neither good nor bad. Look at how a higher form of profound order emerges out of complexity, (not chaos and not order). In both cases though, total order and total chaos, evil reigns. Total order is where the individual is chiseled into a brick, then cemented, immobile, into a structure not of our creation or interest, while total chaos is where us individual rocks are smashed in a landslide. Each of us, if we act rightly, creates a little sphere of profound order around us, and that order is always good, magnetic and a thing to emulate.

To be of any use at all one must be wise as a serpent and gentile as a dove. That is not to say the civilized person is harmless, absolutely not! The civilized human being is the most dangerous creature on this planet, and perhaps in the universe, other than God himself. Look at the great evil the barbarian is capable of, logically, the civilized human being is capable of good in equal measure. The serpent is wise because it is aware of what is going on around it. It cannot be ensnared, tricked, oppressed nor manipulated. To be wise as a serpent is to embody these attributes. To be gentile as a dove, is to fly from violence when possible, and never start it. Yet that is not to say the dove doesn’t have a beak, tongue and talons, but they are used cunningly, rather than threateningly… A deadly adversary.

This struggle I talk of… where can we see it? All around us, in our wars, perpetual QE, drug problem, cults, open attacks on God, pedophilia, mass migrations, the diminishment of human life, and unlimited government. Giving the homeless man on the corner with the sign, “hungry,” a ten spot, is not being civilized, but giving him a bag of food and a job prospect is. If everyone did this and food is indeed what he is after, you will continue to see him until he has work, if not, he will move on. Being civilized is not a knee jerk reaction, it requires thinking before acting, with love and charity in our hearts, even when the right thing to do is walk past, help up, or pin down. We participate when we act rightly, we are meaningless when we float along, and we actively work for evil… when we act without thinking.

If we were as civilized as we think we are, we would not tolerate so much obvious corruption in government, corporations and media. Some would use chaos as a weapon, to create total planet wide order, it is our duty to thoughtfully act against them. Not by delegating our humanity to psychopaths, but by our being human hearted… and dealing with our problems ourselves. We should be wise as a serpent and gentile as a dove. Cunning, shrewd and able to fly if the circumstances require it. Resist the call for total chaos as well as for total order, they are both Pandora’s boxes. Moreover, to be civilized is to be in control of one self, charitable in our opinions and to practice thoughtful action. Be a leader… demonstrate what it is to be civilized, and create a sphere of profound order around you.

On Natural Duty

It seems to me, natural duty demands that when confronted with pure evil, the only civilized reaction is to act in an uncivilized manner. If a man walks into a bathroom and sees a child being raped… it is his duty to react extremely violently, and he will have reacted in a civilized manner. Because civilization requires evil actions to be stopped, and evil is only stopped by violence, as in nature. This is the basis for natural duty. I argue here that the natural law of self protection extends to others as well. What is your personal definition of what it is to be a human being? If a human being is an autonomous agent, that seeks it’s own best interests… then we must also be morally bound to promote goodness and equality, because it is a self interested act. Natural duty comes as a consequence of natural rights.

To be a human being as opposed to something else, something less, is to take on the sins of the world. This is done through the understanding that we are all capable of great evil as well as great good. Put someone, who otherwise might have been a saint, into the wrong situation, and they could become a villain. You and I are just as susceptible to this as anyone. To be human then, is more than just to exist in the world, with the features of a homo sapiens, to be human is to learn, reason, understand, and once understanding is achieved, to lead by example. Understanding is the recognition of both our moral frailties as well as our duties under natural law. Because natural law does not only bestow Rights, it imposes duties as well… with Rights come responsibilities.

The Rights bestowed by natural law are enumerated in the United States founding documents, like the Federalist Papers, Anti Federalists, Common Sense, Notes on the State of Virginia, etc… it is through reading these works that one can come to an understanding of what the US founders believed were the Rights all human beings are endowed with, these Rights are unalienable, (cannot be taken away) and are universal. Limited government of the US kind, is only supposed to guarantee those natural Rights, and can only maintained by the people following natural duties, the duties that are also inherent in any Right. Since Rights do not exist in a vacuum, they exist in the context of humanity, government and interpersonal relationships, our Rights rest upon our willingness to do our natural duty.

Tocqueville’s self interest rightly understood is one way to understand what our duties are under natural law. In a state of nature, if you see a lion attacking another person, even someone you are not familiar with, who can deny it is a moral imperative to help? Only if one can be of immediate assistance of course, and if not, that lion must be hunted down and killed… for having got the taste for human flesh. If you find a well is poisoned your duty is to post a sign, if you find someone injured your duty is to help, if you see a snare your duty is to point it out, etc… These are the duties that come with natural rights. We have delegated those duties to government and charities, so much so that while we understand them at some basic level, we almost universally fail to put them into practice.

That is why someone can walk into a bathroom where a child is being raped, and say to themselves, “not my problem.” IT IS YOUR G D PROBLEM! If you fail to see that you are as guilty as the villain! What business is humanity to us? We are Humanity! It is what makes us human and not vermin, giving us Natural Rights, and the duties that come with those Rights. We cannot off load them to someone else. That is off loading our humanity. This is why we have a failing school system, cronyism, government corruption, drug epidemics, permanent wars, abortion as a fashion statement, constant crime, random violence, and the elite in Epstein’s black book getting away with child rape… because we have delegated our personal moral duties, to an impersonal immoral entity… run by psychopaths.

Distraction and Crisis

It seems to me, there is a philosophical theory floating around lately, that our perception is like the desktop of a computer, we understand how to manipulate the icons to a high degree… but know nothing really of the underlying process. The theory basically postulates that our perceptions evolved to keep us alive… not to see reality. This appears to be the case when we look at the news. Today, the news distracts us with a hoax impeachment, yet there are very significant things going on that we are missing as a result. One of those things is the REPO market crisis. The Federal Reserve has had to open it’s overnight window, printing hundreds of billions of dollars recently, to keep the banks afloat. Normally this would be big news, but with the hoax impeachment going on and all…

The REPO market is the system of overnight loans that banks do to balance their books at the end of the day. Banks flush will loan money to banks that are short. It is an overnight loan and so the interest is not very high… but the amounts of money can be enormous. Lately, banks either haven’t been flush at the end of the day, else they refuse to loan to other banks. This has pushed up the REPO rate higher than the Federal Reserve believes is helpful, so the Federal Reserve has opened their overnight window, to loan to banks that need overnight loans to drive down the REPO rate. This has resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars being printed to cover those loans. The plan has worked, the REPO rate is lower, but it still requires the printing of hundreds of billions of dollars a week.

What I find very curious is… why would they need to print money if the loans are overnight? Presumably, they would be paid back the next morning, and be available for loaning out that night to other banks that need it? The Federal Reserve has just announced it will make available (print) 120 billion a day, to “help” the financial system weather this crisis… that no one is talking about. Because, well, the democrats are impeaching Trump, and why would anyone care about anything else? Back to that money though… 120 billion is an unimaginable pile of cash. It is enough that if people were randomly picked from the population, and given a check for a million dollars each, 120 thousand people a day would become millionaires! Where is all that largess going?

An unrelated story, that is also not being reported, is the slow motion bankruptcy of our largest cities. California is facing trillions in unfunded liabilities due to the open corruption in it’s public service. Many cities in California are functionally bankrupt as are others across the country. Despite the overly high bond ratings, rating agencies have placed on municipal bonds, any city that is functionally bankrupt is not a good prospect for more debt. As cities have to issue billions more in bonds, to cover their burgeoning debt obligations, while trying to cover some basic services… they will crowd out other investments, else the banks will float the atrocity by printing money. As the old adage goes, owe the bank a hundred dollars and the bank owns you, owe the bank a billion… and you own the bank.

Leading us back to the REPO crisis. If the demand for debt exceeds the banks ability to loan then one of several things must happen. Either the interest rate rises, (and we all know that is unacceptable), or the banks have to take hidden loans from the federal Reserve to cover that demand for debt. The crowding out of other people and institutions looking for loans, as the result of all that increased demand for debt from our cities and States, in the form of municipal bonds, may have resulted in the REPO crisis. Add to this, the fact that there are Municipal bond collateralized debt obligations, the evil twin of Mortgage backed securities, both derivatives… and that should send shivers down your back! It may be true, perhaps we don’t see reality, but only what jumps and shines… like a hoax impeachment.

How can mass migration save the world?

Dear Friends,

It seems to me… if people who seek to flee their home nations, turned around and fixed them instead, their fate and the lot of mankind would be drastically improved. Since people are self interested, and we do what we believe best serves ourselves, at least at the time we do it, we can conclude, that those who want to emigrate don’t believe their situation is optimal where they are, and it would be improved by moving elsewhere. Which is an explicit condemnation of their own nations and the systems that run them. Moreover, it is obvious then that the system of the country they want to move to, is one under which they believe will benefit them the most. So we know it is the system they are fleeing and a different system they are seeking.

As to systems that people seek or flee. It is evident that people believe capitalism is best, because that is the system the vast majority of migrants flow to, and socialism is one people detest, judging by the immense outflows of people from nations that embrace socialism. This point is sharpened to a razors edge, by the fact many socialist nations have walls, gun turrets and shoot to kill orders… to keep people in, that was what the fall of the Berlin wall, was all about. North Korea today will kill anyone who tries to flee their utopia. In other nations people are trapped by poverty, situation and by their own minds. Yet, once people get to the new place they braved death for… many immediately set themselves to changing it into the system they fled.

Examples of this behavior abound. From the interstate level, of people leaving Michigan, California, New York, Vermont, etc… for states run by conservatives. Only to immediately start initiatives to change the laws, regulations, culture and even the constitutions of the places they moved, to insure they will have to flee them in a few decades as well. To the international level, where people flee places like Venezuela, Honduras, Nicaragua, Argentina, etc… to come to the US, then vote to change the US into a replica of what they fled. I am sure if you try you can think of at least ten other instances where this happens. This strong tendency is a pernicious and malevolent quality of illegal immigration to free nations and states. Encouraging it is like drinking drain cleaner to solve constipation.

Not all immigrants bring such baggage with them. Many integrate, start businesses that locals are too jaded to start, join the communities, help protect the culture, customs and laws that made it the place they sought for refuge. In doing so they grow the economy, bring innovations, deepen the gene pool, toughen the community and most importantly, keep the place as it is, so others may seek sanctuary there as well. Far from being a negative, such immigrants, be them from across the planet, another state or province, add much more than their mere presence, they add the totality of human potential. In a capitalist nation such is the currency of advancement. Yet, if they stayed home and worked to change their own systems to capitalism, liberty and opportunity, humanity might be better served.

One could argue that under the conditions of a large scale migration, such as we see across the globe today, the conditions are created that make it possible for a nation to change from oppressive socialism, to libertarian capitalism. If a large portion of the population that would fight such a move… have moved away, their non presence can no longer hinder. That nation can become one people flee to… instead of one people flee from. If those who would change it stay… their presence could make all the difference. Of course, those egoists who have fled for greener pastures, to fleece, will be a problem wherever they land. Yes, the world could be vastly improved, if people changed their own nations to capitalism, instead of move, and change capitalist places socialist.

What is True Leadership?

It seems to me, leaders lead by example, not by orders. Where the leaders of a society are virtuous, hard working and mind their business, the people are virtuous, diligent and mind their business as well. Where the leaders are villains, the people follow, and become every bit as villainous as their leaders… taking their example. Such leaders, those that are lazy, hedonistic, corrupt liars, most of our world leaders today, must force the people not to be as worthless as they are, so they resort to ever more draconian tactics to keep order. They are working at cross purposes. While they try to order society with violence intimidation and surveillance, they disorder it by their every selfish, egoistic and craven action. The people are given conflicting messages, follow your leader… or their rules?

What if you whipped a herd of cattle to get them to dance on two feet? Would that work? What if you opened every box with a hammer? How would that play out? What if you opened every window while the heat is on… at full blast, and angrily shout, “why won’t this place heat up!” Would that help? How about if you drained all the oil from your car, to save on the expense of oil, then drove across the country? How far would you get? In every instance this is working at cross purposes. Opening the windows while running the heat, running an engine without oil, etc… they work against the goal. That is what our leaders do when they live like the kings of old, above the law, live hedonistic lifestyles and have the hoi polloi pay for their peccadilloes.

They lead us to vice as they whip us to virtue. They have to, else our economy and thus their wealth and power, would crumble to nothing. As Machiavelli said, a corrupt people cannot long be free. Therefore, the more corrupt our leaders are, the more corrupt we will become, the final result will be the loss of our freedom. We see this when they must counter their poor leadership, by using intimidation, social credit scores, law enforcement by surveillance and outright violence. These are the outward manifestations of our loss of freedom. Inwardly we lose our liberty whenever we stop thinking for ourselves and become ensnared in ideas masquerading as truths. In the end, unless we recognize this reality and point it out for others, we will all become slaves.

You might think you are unaffected by what you watch on television, but you are, and if you think you are not… the manipulation has slipped by you. After Bill Clinton had his infamous affair, where the media was all abuzz with the spurious claim, that oral sex is not sex, oral sex became all the rage among teenagers. After all, the President did it in the oval office, and the media said it was not sex. So if it is not sex why not? This was an example of a direct causal relation between a national leader’s actions and the people following their leader. You do as well. When you see the elite get away with crimes that enrich them, do you get angry, or wonder how you could get in on it? Don’t worry that if you just want to get in on it you are a bad person… you are just following your leaders, blindly.

Jesus said to be in the world but not of the world. It is very difficult not to be effected by the sewer we swim in, one can hardly but smell of it, but we can try not to follow our leaders into vice. It starts with the recognition that most of them are psychopaths. They epitomize Thrasymachus’ “great men” and so are the vilest of human beings. To follow such people is to willingly step into a furnace. The future of humanity demands we become the example our leaders refuse, and in fact, are incapable of being. Leading by example and practicing the Golden Rule, as best we can, so that others can see it’s implementation… and follow. Good is attractive and evil is ugly. Most people will choose to follow the worthy and beautiful… and not the hideous, but then, that’s why they made lipstick and propaganda.

Utopia is California

It seems to me… California has made the most progress towards utopia of any state in the US. It is a one party state, that regulates every aspect of it’s citizen’s lives, and has a strong social safety net protecting rapists, drug addicts, illegal immigrants, the lazy and the malicious. The tax rate is still way too low but the wise one party government there is well on it’s way to fixing that glaring error. California continues providing it’s citizens with all their desires. Feces lined streets, once eradicated diseases making a strong comeback, like leprosy, random crime is at record levels and guns are effectively illegal, while gun crime is out of control. With California so near Utopia, I cannot understand why anyone would leave what they have voted, protested for and demanded?

Thomas Moore’s Utopia was essentially a prison island, where the prisoners were moved from cell to cell weekly, to keep them confused as to who they are. The islanders were disarmed and subject to the whims of their “democracy.” Individual rights was not even a concept in their language. Everyone was equally impoverished, wretched and without property… and therefore “happy.” Which is essentially what today’s progressives envision as their goal for humanity. They would like to make the Earth a prison planet, where we all serve the State as robots, with the same rights as an ant, subject to the whims of our hard working virtuous Administrators, disarmed, censored and beaten into submission. A quick look at places progressives have evolved towards utopia is helpful in understanding their vision.

California, Detroit, Sweden, these are just down payments for the world system that will bring such wonderful results to the rest of us. Which probably means the reason progressives are fleeing those places… is because they are selflessly spreading utopia to the rest of us. So we too can enjoy the subtle pleasures of scraping human feces from our shoes, not daring to go out at night, abandoned neighborhoods taken over by vermin, gangs, drug houses, and the largest cause of death a fight between opioid overdose and random violence. The pleasures of utopia are as subtle as they are munificent. People piled upon one another in purple martin houses for humans, is the goal of every right thinking progressive, a world wide Cabrini Green. Then the world can be as Detroit is now.

Progressives took control of Detroit in the mid 1960s. Then, it was a bustling center for production, commerce and culture… run by evil capitalists. It only took them 50 years to evolve it to the utopia it is today. They did the it in the same time span in California. A place with ideal weather, plentiful natural resources, a long coastline, deep water bays for shipping, plentiful natural resources, heck… the streams are even bedded with gold! While California lags Detroit in it’s progress to utopia, it is making great strides. LA and San Francisco are open sewers, crime goes unpunished if illegal immigrants carry it out, the price of real estate is absurd to an inflection point, and the voting process has been perverted to insure a one party state… Showing Detroit is the goal of everyone who votes progressive.

California is leading the way, cutting the path and forging ahead, leading us inexorably to utopia. They may be in the fore, but others are close behind. New York, Vermont and New Jersey are trying mightily to catch up. Vermont’s opioid crisis is otherworldly and New York has proposed criminalizing politically incorrect speech. Taxes in those states are almost punitive enough. The beauty of those one party systems in VT, NJ, NY and CA, is that the people don’t have to vote for their slavery, the system almost insures it. Like I said, they are close behind California on the path to Utopia. With the fleeing of progressives from the places they have created, spreading to us the joys of their vision, it will not be long before we all live in a planet wide Utopia… With Space as our only hope of escape.

The US As The World’s Policeman

It seems to me, we should ask ourselves, is it in humanity’s best interests… for the US to remain the world’s policeman? The future of mankind turns on this question. A strong argument can be made for both sides. On the one, if the US step’s back, it could leave a vacuum that might be filled with some malevolent actor. On the other, having the US as the world’s policeman, creates animosity between the world population and the US, allows a crazy President with outsized political favor to break the world, creates un-payable US government debt, allows corruption to be hidden under the cover of national security and protects bad actors if they play along. Moreover, there are immense amounts of corrupting money involved, as well as rivers of innocent blood, so, let’s examine this issue.

If the US steps back and closes it’s bases worldwide, except those that are legitimately for self protection, ie, those in our immediate neighborhood, many argue that Russia, China and other despots will step in to fill the void. The UN is so corrupt it would be no obstacle to any psychopath who grasps for power. In fact, if that would be despot pays a sufficient bribe, the UN will back him or her all the way! The US is also a stabilizing factor in international affairs. Take the US out of the equation, and many wars might pop up around the world, that are smothered today by US hegemony. Heck, if the US backed out of being it’s policeman, it’s possible the world could immediately devolve into total anarchy and war… but I doubt it.

Yet… trillions of dollars could be saved for the US taxpayer, the standing army need not be so large, there wouldn’t be US soldiers suffering and dying on some foreign battlefield, for land that will be given back to the people he died taking it from a month after his death, our service people wouldn’t be guarding poppy fields, even as tens of thousands die of opioid overdoses back home, the US wouldn’t be both envied and hated the world over, the vast national security apparatus would not need to exist, whole departments of the US government would become redundant saving further money, etc… But more importantly, the US pulling out as the world’s policeman, would force the world to grow up, because nothing keeps someone a child more effectively… than abetting it.

Back to those trillions of dollars. That money corrupts the governments of nations we have bases in, funds the military industrial complex that employs thousands in good paying jobs, lobbyists to maintain a perpetual state of war, bureaucrats, politicians, lawyers, despots and black projects like MK Ultra. It permeates our government like a fungus does the soil in a forest. Remove it and the whole ecosystem dies. In this case, the corrupt extra constitutional government monstrosity that feeds off the tears of mothers and fathers for the loss of their children. The way a Vampire feeds on blood, or a wraith feeds from life essence… peas from the same pod. The political power that will be arrayed against the US stepping back from world policeman, because of that money, is nearly insurmountable.

There would be chaos in the wake of any such action by the US. One factor must be top most in our minds though… that is, eventually, the US will run out of money and no longer be able to be the world’s policeman. When that happens, the shock will pass through the world like the concussion wave from a nuke. If it is done rationally and with forewarning the outcome will certainly be better. Most of the arguments against the it are short term issues, while the arguments for it are both short and long term goods. If the US stops being the world’s policeman, there will be consequences, some good, some bad… but in the long run, what will yield the best results for humanity? That is where the answer lie. Sympathy for the Progressive

It seems to me, pragmatically, while the atheist progressive must work tirelessly to force his or her version of unreality on the world, those of us who serve Christ, can work hard all day yet sleep at night, in the sure knowledge that God is working behind the scenes. This is because the atheist has no prayer to quiet their mind in the evening, and they cannot be comforted by the certitude that God will eventually put the world right, they must do it themselves. The other option is to become nihilistic and topple what others have managed to pile up. Now, this is not all my argument, it is mostly that of William James, the American philosopher of pragmatism. Back then, it was the progressives that were considered to be pragmatists and constitutionalists who were the idealists.

Today, the reality of the twentieth century upends that notion. The lesson of the twentieth century is that collectivism is a total utter and complete failure of epic proportions, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of millions in the name of politics. Each death one step closer to utopia. The carnage that reaped the human race, when it fell under the siren’s call of socialism, has almost led to our annihilation on more than one occasion, so far. Imagine, we have almost destroyed ourselves… over the question of whether or not the rationally ordered society, economy and culture is better than freedom, laissez faire and complexity. Hundreds of millions died in famines, gulags and classicide, to “prove” socialism is better. Ponder the absurdity of that… if you want to understand the Twentieth Century.

Pragmatism is a utilitarian measure of an idea, philosophy or practice. It postulates that the measure of anything is the outcome. If it results in an improvement in the human condition it is good. If it results in the opposite, pragmatically, it is bad. Pragmatism judges by the fruits not the intentions. In the early Twentieth Century, before the fruits of the rationally ordered economy, society and culture became undeniable… it could be argued that a rationally ordered economy is “going” to be better than one run on chaos! It seemed self evident to egoistic self serving intellectuals at the time. The problem is, human nature does not lend itself to rational order, or to rationally ordering. The result of socialism has been catastrophe, and as such, socialism can no longer be called pragmatic, but idealistic.

The idealistic atheist progressive has it tough. They really do. Promoting socialism as if it hasn’t been utterly discredited, teaching children that fire doesn’t burn, water no longer wets, that there are no boys or girls but a whole plethora of gender to pick from, that dismembering a baby is not killing, etc… They have to embrace the lies and hypocrisy in all matters, as they have become sacraments to progressives… really, the atheist progressive has it tough! Trying to push such nihilistic, cold hearted and absurd notions on humanity, to be enforced by an unanswerable autocratic administrative government, staffed by unaccountable professional administrators, is a very hard sell. And to do it without the backup of God… well, that does make it hard to be a progressive. No wonder they are mad all the time.

While the progressive atheist idealist must push absurdity without the backup of God, although they do have the total support of Lucifer, those of us who understand there is more to the universe than what we can see, are ready to bend our will to what pragmatically, is the correct course of action. We also have the added benefit of being able to sleep at night, in the full knowledge that eventually, God will make it right. We can, and indeed must work as the hands of God, but if we falter occasionally, we can rest assured that we serve a greater purpose, as long as we thoughtfully and wisely follow God. There is pragmatism in giving up one’s will to that of the divine as well, it allows us to sleep at night and openly look at the world as it is, and do what is known to help, rather than what we hope will help… this time.
