The Democrat’s Frankenstein’s Monster

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, that an avowed socialist of any persuasion, is the front runner of the democrat primary, is not at all shocking. Even in 2000, a socialist couldn’t get national recognition, today they are the preferred candidate of our young people. In the last few decades, under Common Core, our children have been indoctrinated into the wonders of socialism. Not the reality of it, but the glittering lie that has beguiled so many, and resulted in the deaths of well over a hundred million people in the twentieth century alone. Then again, ugly truths are not very attractive, while glittering lies catch the eye, hold the imagination and intrigue the mind. That our youth embrace socialism, democratic, national, or whatever, is the direct result of it being driven down their throats.

Our schools ceased being an education system a century ago. It’s purpose became to indoctrinate children into whatever mindset the elite want. This is a much more efficient means of controlling the hoi polloi than allowing people to think for themselves! Robots don’t compete with the elite, they do what they are told, if a few die of opioid overdoses, all the better, gets rid of the surplus population. The progressive doctrine of our government monopoly school system, teaches what to think, not how to think. Rather than teaching children logic, philosophy and reason, our progressive schools teach, that socialism is morally superior to capitalism, that Marxism has never been tried, that the Administrative state is more efficient, professional, benevolent and modern than that outdated Constitutional system.

How many kids, when they get out of school, eschew marriage, careers and children for participation in ANTIFA. This is not due to some true desire of the kids for “justice,” it is due to the programming they received in school. The ongoing transgender crime against humanity is another absurdity that is being pushed into the minds of our children. An absurdity that serves no one’s interests but perverts who desire girls with penises. Do you think that it is out of some internal conflict between their femininity and masculinity… or something they have been manipulated into? Our schools no longer teach children they have a stake in society and it’s outcome, it teaches them they are the victims of society, that it is a bad thing that must be destroyed. Because chaos is the path to utopia for progressives.

Progressives know their propaganda has a shelf life. It only lasts in the minds of the brainwashed as long as they stay out of reality. Once they come into contact with reality, the brainwashing wears off quick, and so each generation must be propagandized, to keep the population of sycophants seeking their own enslavement, at the desired level. Now that the chickens have come home to roost, the democrats are panicking. They want pliable people without the ability to see through their obvious manipulations but instead they have created Frankenstein’s monster. Bernie Sanders, the man who was a devout communist during the Cold War, and promoted the Soviet System over the American one, is now their front runner. So here we are, the democrats are terrified of the very creature they created.

Even Chris Mathews knows that a communist in the White house would be a disaster of biblical proportions. Since they are scared of their own creation, they will do what democrats do, they will manipulate the results of elections, undermine them and if necessary, openly steal the nomination from him again. I wonder though… if the democrats are not as afraid of a Sanders Presidency, as they are that he is no match for Donald Trump? After all, Trump has lowered unemployment in historically under served communities to never before seen levels. He has cut regulations, lifting the jack boot from the throat of small business, and given every man woman and child in the US a stake in it’s outcome. Maybe democrats are not as afraid of our republic’s demise… as they are of the loss of power?

Sincerely,

John Pepin

On Participating in Our Own Deception

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, there are a variety of reasons people go along with their own deception, out of misplaced courtesy, fear, to get something, to keep the peace, etc… There are as many reasons as there are people. Every reason is mere justification for not acting, an expedient, so we don’t have to be uncomfortable… but in the end, participating in our own deception always leads to our suffering. So we see that not acting when we should, is like putting money in the bank at high compounded interest, but instead of magnified profits… we receive compounded pain instead. We are “expected” to be willing participants in our own deception all the time. It is a major way psychopaths, narcissists and sociopaths manipulate people into self harm. To recognize it is the first step to avoiding it.

In business when we willingly participate in our own deception, we establish the precedent that we will bend, whenever they demand it. This obviously puts the person willing to help his or her deceiver at a strong disadvantage to the person who will not. Insuring that the business transaction will not go smoothly, leave hard feelings, will be a lose/win and will end up being a zero sum gain. Moreover, to go along with being deceived, out of courtesy, is giving courtesy to someone who is being discourteous. This is the opposite of both the golden rule and reciprocal attribution. The Golden Rule has context, if evil is being perpetrated on one, that one is not required to help. If someone openly demands another participate in their own deception, that is attributing the other as subhuman.

In our personal lives participating in our own deception is a way to insure we are never happy, fulfilled or our needs met. This is a manipulation tactic used by narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths. They do or say something, then deny saying it. Next they often gaslight and attack you for “remembering it wrong.” Going along is a sure path to misery because you are giving someone without compassion unfair power over you. If it is your spouse, eventually you will be drained and the narcissist will have to turn to someone else for their narcissistic supply, maybe your child. If it is a coworker, you will eventually have to leave that place of employment, unless you can regain control, and if it is in an extended family member, you may have to cut ties with them.

In government, willingly participating in our own deception is a sure path to oppression, tyranny and economic ruin. This is a favorite tactic of governments that intend to become despotic. Solzhenitsyn said it best in his Gulag Archipelago, that lies lead to gulags. In Solzhenitsyn’s mind the lies run throughout society and government. Everyone lies and protects the lie. It isn’t hard to understand that when the people participate in their own deception, by government, they are giving others power over not only their lives, fortunes and children… but of their very thoughts. Once you help someone deceive you, you gain a stake in that deception. It becomes in your perceived interests to not only maintain the lie, but to promote it, so others accompany you in your self deception.

The terms used to describe our participation in our own deception are sand bagging and gaslighting. Gaslighting, where someone tells you reality is not what you see it to be, as a way to manipulate you, or sand bagging, where someone tells you a lie, you both know is a lie, that you are expected to accept out of courtesy. Which is absurd, since a sandbagger is someone who deserves the opposite of courtesy. At every level of observation, allowing ourselves to be sandbagged and gaslighted is a sure path to suffering. That is why a civilized person will call out sandbagging and gaslighting whenever they see it. Not simply to protect ourselves, but to protect society from such pathological behavior, in business, our personal lives and our governments.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Utopia Achieved

Dear Friends,

It seems befuddling to me, why people in NYC have a problem with the violent crime, those in San Francisco worry about feces on the sidewalks, and people in Baltimore fret over their record murder rate… they voted for it. Perhaps the voters in those places do not worry about the situation, but those who live elsewhere and upon looking at them, are horrified, and project our disgust onto the people who live there. This may be a better explanation, since the voters continue to support the politicians who are bringing them the violent crime, drug addictions, homelessness, disease, hopelessness and gang violence. It may just be that the people who live in those places, like to be preyed upon, taxed to poverty, live in a glass bubble, and in a petri dish… or it might just be the elite who like such things.

Places like Baltimore where crimes are not punished, if they are committed by a demographic with political favor, amazingly, have high crime rates. George Soros has funded many local political races recently, and the one thing all the candidates he backs have in common, is that they openly refuse to punish “small” crimes. Especially small crimes committed by politically favored demographics. This has happened across the US. Places as diverse as Philadelphia and Dallas have new prosecutors who openly refuse to do their job. Another common denominator is that once elected, and their policies put in place, the crime rates skyrocket. Not only in frequency but in severity. One wonders if the two are not correlated? Not punishing crime… leads to more crime?

It would appear that in places that have lavished their public servants with absurd pensions and benefits, as well as astoundingly high wages, and where pay is in no way tied to performance… the budgets are a mess. It is no secret that progressives believe in a livable wage, especially for themselves. That is why in small communities like Fresno, town council members get one hundred thousand a year plus perks. Unionized public servants often get one hundred percent of their working salary and benefits when retired after twenty years. Dallas Texas, for example, has had to violate it’s contract with retired police. Detroit is effectively bankrupt and NYC is in the same cue a bit further back. It would appear that progressive policies are not conducive to healthy public budgets.

Homelessness, disease and filth, were once a quality of third world hell holes, but progressives have brought these things back to the US for us to enjoy. LA has seen a resurgence of Leprosy. Now that is something to be proud of. Typhoid, scabies, cholera, etc… diseases of filth are now popular in California. Where progressive policies have made the streets open sewers again, like back in the middle ages. Plague is even possible under these conditions. It is almost like… allowing people to defecate in public on the sidewalks, encouraging people to live on the streets and providing sanctuary for people from across the planet with whatever sickness… fosters the conditions for disease? Oddly, in old shows like Rockford Files, you see very little feces on the streets? What changed?

All these things, brought to the voters of our large cities by their progressive overlords, with their administrative governance, must be to the liking of the voters, else they would vote the progressives from office. Unless there is so much vote fraud their votes no longer count? Nevertheless, there must be widespread support for the policies that have led to such conditions, or there would be protests. Since we don’t see any protests against sanctuary cities or progressive policies, but we do for progressive foolishness. ANTIFA protests that are quite violent take place in the most progressive places, often using violence and intimidation to silence opposing viewpoints. Showing the voters either like their utopias… or have lost control of their government? Else people would be fleeing those places.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

How the Present Predicts the Future

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, by looking at someone’s present actions, we can predict their future. This is no secret, people have been doing this since humans started walking, but it is a truth lost on many. If a husband puts a password on his phone, starts working late without overtime to show for it, etc… you can predict that in the future he will be caught cheating. If an employee comes in late every day, hung over and smells of liqueur in the afternoon, that employee will, most probably, be found to be an alcoholic later on. If a company stops paying overtime and checks begin to bounce, you can predict that firm will be experiencing bankruptcy soon. Moreover, if a government takes the guns from it’s citizens, then it is probable… that government has other usurpations planned for the future.

People have to follow laws else we will face the government’s monopoly on violence. Government’s, on the other hand, are supposed to follow their Constitutions, else they will be called bad names. When a person stays up late at night, is out at all hours, carries burglary tools with him and always has fairly new expensive goods, he will probably be discovered a thief. In the same vein, when a government works in the dark, wields law as a weapon, and always seems to have plenty of power and money to do whatever it wants, sooner or later the people will discover that government is a thief… of their Constitutional Rights. The difference is that if the person is caught, he or she faces prison, if the government is caught, it gets to keep the ill gotten power and no one is punished.

When a person is always talking behind other people’s backs, full of other people’s secrets and mealy mouthed when confronted, you can bet she is untrustworthy. A government that selectively leaks information to forward a political faction’s interests, uses personal destruction as the default mode, lies constantly, and redacts everything possible when forced to relinquish any information at all, you can bet that government cannot be trusted. Like a company that sells defective products. Everything you get from that company is either broken or dangerously defective. Would you continue to buy from that store? Everything government provides is defective, often dangerously, yet there is no remedy for a defective government product… while there is, for a firm.

Someone who is caught in lie after lie, is constantly manipulating people to create chaos, has no empathy and harms people without a thought… will be discovered a narcissist or psychopath later. A government who’s mouth is full of lies, manipulates people into self harm for fun and profit, imports criminals to do the crimes Americans and Europeans are too human hearted to do, pass laws that create pernicious incentives, consider human beings nothing but cannon fodder, and pass regulations that destroy people, businesses and towns without a care… will eventually be discovered to be malevolent and despotic. While the psychopath who is discovered has to move, and take his malevolence with him, the government of psychopaths does not, the people must endure that psychopathic government.

It all starts with people allowing their government to do things we all know lead to bad places… but doing nothing about it. Once it comes to the government rounding up the guns, like in Virginia, it is almost too late. Once government disarms the people, there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING stopping them from totalitarianism… but their “good hearted nature.” History is rife with examples of governments that telegraphed their malevolent intent beforehand. Hitler rounded up most of the guns, Stalin certainly didn’t allow guns, Mao only allowed the Red Guard to have guns, else how could they have gone house to house and taken all the food, leading to tens of millions starving to death? People do things to move towards a goal. We do not do things in a vacuum. Governments are the same.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Coronavirus, China and Human Heartedness

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, wise folks around the world are praying for the people of China today. China is in the grips of another epidemic that is taking the lives of it’s people wholesale. They are subject to a collapsing economic system, disease and their own despotic government. History has been spastic with the Chinese. Alternating between sage emperors, despots and living as a conquered people. Today they contend with all three. Due to globalism however, their troubles are not isolated to China, they are exported to the planet at large. The Chinese one party communist state exports censorship, fentanyl and surveillance technology, while the country exports diseases like Bird Flu, SARS and Coronavirus, and whatever has liquidated all the pigs in China. Yes, wise folks are praying for the Chinese people.

The usurpations, despotism and tyranny of the Chinese communist party are legendary. From the artificial famines that exterminated tens of millions, whole swaths of the Chinese people, to the organ harvesting of political dissidents, the Chinese communist party has distinguished itself as a true communist party. China by the traditional definition is an empire… and an expansionist one at that. They threaten every single one of their neighbors, except Russia, with invasion, if land they “justifiably” claim is not turned over to them. No different that Hitler in Austria, Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia or Crimea at name the time. The people of China labor under one of the most efficient, ruthless and arrogant tyrannies to ever exist.

China has undergone several extermination events of it’s livestock of late. Due to overcrowding, poor agricultural practices and poor cleanliness of their herds, bird flu has wiped out millions of chickens in the last decade. Pig whatever has just in the last year almost exterminated all the swine in China, their principle protein source. This has obviously led to hyperinflation in pork prices… which has driven people to eat anything that crawls, walks or flies by. Mainstream scientists claim the Coronavirus came from bats at a wet market in Wuhan. If true, this could mean that the pork epidemic indirectly caused the Coronavirus epidemic. That Chinese shrimp are fed pig feces, in my humble opinion, is another place where an outbreak of disease is likely.

Globalism, of the virtuous market kind, or the malevolent government kind, removes barriers to the movement of disease… and despotism. Which means that no one is safe from whatever happens elsewhere today. Coronavirus has made it to almost every continent, the Chinese government effectively censors people in the US at will, and governments around the world are embracing Chinese surveillance technology and practices. The adoption of mass surveillance is slowly exceeding Orwell’s worst nightmare. Even the NFL with their “brave” attack on the US Constitution and freedoms by taking a knee during the national anthem, caved like a wet napkin when China was displeased with criticism from one if it’s players… who immediately apologized for saying Hong Kong should be free.

Often, what is seen as selfless, is the most selfish thing. Praying for the Chinese people is one. If our prayers cause the atheist communist Chinese government to collapse, replacing it with a limited government that guarantees the natural Rights of it’s people, not only will the Chinese people’s fortunes be elevated, but so will the fortunes of every man woman and child on the planet. If our prayers help stop such deadly diseases as SARS and the 1917 Spanish flu, we will have saved uncountable millions of lives. If our prayers can reverse the surveillance of the Chinese people… to the people surveilling the Chinese government, the world may follow such a virtuous lead. So, in this case, to be human hearted, virtuous and selfless, in praying for another, we are acting in our own self interest.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Class, Who Has It and Who Doesn’t

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the one thing you can say about the democrats, after last nights State of the Union address by Donald Trump… is that they don’t have a speck of class. The quality of Class, the ability to make others feel at ease, to be calm in the face of emotion and to act like a gentleman or lady at all times… especially while in public. Outdated though it may be, class is a characteristic of civilized people and cultures. Old films are full of examples of classy people, the Baroness in The Sound of Music, Johnny Drake in Danger Man, and in most Jimmy Stewart movies you see class acted out in narrative. People follow their leaders, so said Confucius, and since democrats and modern culture are the antithesis of class, it is no wonder class is in such short supply today.

A lack of class also usually comes with a generous dollop of lack of self awareness. People who are self aware, to some degree, always have a modicum of class. They may not be classy people, but try to act classy when in public. The inability to see oneself from another point of view is handy for psychopaths, manipulators and politicians. They can harm people all day and never see themselves through the eyes of their victims. I often wonder if it is not a form of extreme solipsism, thinking one is the only person that is really alive, that leads people to lose all self awareness and thus become the opposite of classy… rude and crude. Like ripping up a speech to show disdain. Of course, if someone thinks they are the only person who really exists… why have class or self awareness before mere shadows?

It is true that Trump showed a lack of class by refusing to shake Nancy Pelosi’s hand… but no one has maintained Trump is the epitome of class, while democrats like to claim that mantle for themselves. As such, it is not hypocritical for Trump to act the ass, while it is very much hypocritical for Pelosi, who is full of approbations for herself, about her religious fervor, care for the downtrodden, concern for the US Constitution and speaking truth to power. Nevertheless, Trump was far more statesmanlike than any of the democrats. When Trump noted the historically low unemployment of Black Americans, they should have cheered to the heavens, instead they sneered to the depths. I would have thought that rising wages for blue collar people, would also have been a reason for gladness, but that would take class.

As Trump named accomplishment after accomplishment for the United States, Nancy Pelosi rolled her eyes, played with her false teeth, motioned to people, made faces, and tore up the speech given to her by Trump as soon as he finished. I stopped watching once the President’s speech had ended, so I have only read about what happened after… if true, it proves my point. Dressed in white like the KKK, (one of democrat skeletons in their closet), democrats showed solidarity, but also a lack of self awareness. When Trump announced the new trade agreements, that put US firms on a better footing against the global competition, democrats again held their seats down. Even though they voted for it? Is that an example of sour grapes, cognitive dissonance, lack of self awareness… or just having no class?

Throughout the whole State of the Union speech, Trump came across as classy and dignified, while the democrats with their drama came across as misbehaved children, given far too much leniency. We have come to expect a lack of decorum from progressives. I suppose if I thought I was the only person on Earth who truly exists, everyone else only here to fill out my reality, then it might be logical to be as rude, crude and have a total lack of self awareness as democrats, leading to zero class… but isn’t such a level of solipsism a form of mental illness? Denying reality in so fundamental a way, I might argue it is as mortal to the psyche as thinking one is Napoleon, but then I am being redundant. Of course, there is the Iowa Caucus… I wonder if democrats will ever have the class to give us the right numbers?

Sincerely,

John Pepin

A Rational Morality Outside Religion

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, if someone wanted to come up with a rationally derived morality, outside any religious context, the best foundation they could come up with is the Golden Rule, Do Unto Others as you would have others do unto you. This is an objective standard that can be understood subjectively. Don’t do to someone else something you wouldn’t want them to do to you. From this position all other questions of right and wrong can be understood and answered. While the idea is easy to understand, implementation is tricky, because if we treat others as we would have them treat us, then we must hold ourselves to a higher standard than we hold others to. Now that is hard. Yes, the Golden Rule is the ideal measure for any rational morality devoid of religion… except it is the basis of Christianity.

To do unto others, doesn’t require thought, compassion or empathy. One need not be able to put oneself into the shoes of another, just know what you don’t want done to yourself. If you don’t like being punched in the back of the head as you walk down the street, don’t play the knockout game, if you don’t like being backstabbed, don’t backstab others, if you don’t like being stolen from, refrain from stealing, if you don’t like your significant other running around, don’t run around on them, if you don’t like being lied to, stop lying, if you don’t like your stuff being broken, don’t vandalize, if you don’t like being disrespected, don’t disrespect others, etc… but the Golden Rule is not only negative, it shows us how to treat others as well. If you like being helped, help others, etc… to do unto others is obvious to anyone.

This way the person who seeks morality, outside religion, can build a rational morality that is actually moral and rational, unlike most “rational moralities.” Previous rational moralities, like Marxism and Nazism, are based on envy, hate, disgust and arrogance. They envy and hate those richer than them, and find those with less, or the other, disgusting and loathsome. The subjective morality of the psychopath. It serves a purpose, and that purpose is not to serve mankind, but the man. For the progressive, socialist, Nazi, Marxist, etc… morality is self serving, the Golden Rule is not. Take natural Rights, progressives deny them to others, but demand them for themselves. Even as progressives shout down, slander and violently silence others… they would be deeply offended should they be silenced.

To follow the Golden Rule requires us to hold ourselves to a higher standard than they hold others. This follows because, if we only do to other people that which we would want done to us, and others do not, then by definition, we are holding ourselves to a higher standard. Taking the road less traveled so to speak. One problem with this, is that narcissists will hold “themselves” to such a high standard, they will expect it from everyone else. When in reality, if they had any self awareness, they would realize they are holding others to a standard they themselves would chafe at. To actually follow the Golden Rule one must actually see others as flawed human beings. Some will never succeed, others might with help and some are just outstanding.

The Golden Rule is never comparative though. If we compare ourselves with others we are not following the Golden Rule. Comparing ourselves to others must by definition, be outside of context, because we cannot know what another person has gone through. Moreover, it leads us to be arrogant, angry and envious. Those who follow the golden Rule lead by example. Since no one wants to be put upon, to do unto others is not to put upon others. The tyrant may get compliance, but has shattered the window to open it… then wonders why in winter it can no longer be closed. As a standard of morality, there is none greater than the Golden Rule, but it has one drawback to the atheist, it is Christian and Confucian doctrine. Which, in an illogical nihilistic way, negates it. Too bad God thought of it first…

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Peak Impeachment Absurdity

Dear Friends,

It seems to me… the impeachment of Trump has reached peak absurdity. It was ludicrous that Trump was not allowed to have council during his impeachment in the House, ask questions, was not allowed to face his accuser and was even denied witnesses, in total defiance of all US jurisprudence and the history of common law. Which proved the House trial was indeed a kangaroo court. Now that the “trial” is in the Senate, Trump’s allies are not even allowed to ask questions! The “judge” John Roberts is clearly biased in denying Rand Paul question, and by suppressing the name of the person who supposedly made the original complaint, Trump’s accuser. All of which adds up to the most biased, unlawful, unconstitutional, malicious and vile impeachment ever.

Impeachment is a remedy for a President who has become odious to the Constitution, not the administrative state or a political faction. Such a drastic action is only when a President has committed an actual crime. Like perjury, treason, murder, fraud, etc… serious crimes that impair his or her ability to function as President. It has usually been used as a political weapon, showing the maliciousness and duplicity of politicians. Progressive Republicans passed unconstitutional laws, then impeached Andrew Johnson for not following them. At least Johnson was accused of breaking a law, even though it was an unconstitutional usurpation of the Executive Branch’s authority, by the Legislature. Impeachment was supposed to be used to protect the republic… but instead it has become a political bludgeon.

Nixon was supposedly impeached for covering up someone else’s crime, but he was really impeached as payback, for prosecuting Alger Hiss. Alger Hiss was a deep stater who had passed to Truman from Roosevelt. He was accused by Whittaker Chambers of working for the Soviet Union… of being a Marxist. Whittaker Chambers was Alger Hiss’ Soviet handler and had been caught. Hiss had far too much political favor to be tried. It would be like someone prosecuting Hillary Clinton today for being a spy for China. It wouldn’t happen… no matter the evidence. A young up coming prosecutor just elected was willing to take on the establishment though, Richard Nixon. He prosecuted Hiss and earned the undying enmity of the progressive/Marxist faction. His impeachment was political payback.

Clinton lied under oath, which was the reason he was impeached. The facts are undisputed. The question upon which Clinton’s impeachment rested was, is perjury an impeachable offense? The US Senate at the time found, no, lying under oath is not an impeachable offense, and so Clinton was acquitted. Many have argued that since the lie was about Clinton sexually harassing an aid, and lies about such things are perfectly acceptable, as such, it wasn’t really perjury. Others argued that his lie put the nation at risk since it put Clinton at risk of blackmail. That argument was shown to be false, when Clinton was proven to have harassed an aid and then lied under oath, and nothing was done about it, showing that Clinton was and is above the law… undermining any blackmail argument.

The same senators today, who found that a felony offense was insufficient to impeach Clinton then, have turned on a dime, and now say that anything they dislike is an impeachable offense. Usually, someone has an epiphany that leads to such a profound change in their mental framework, there is a pivot point. Yet, in this case, the pivot point appears to be the election of Donald Trump. Which suggests… his impeachment is politically motivated, and not from some deep seated love of nation, but hatred, of Trump and our Constitution. Bringing us back to the original position, that this impeachment, by any standard, even our pathetic precedent, is absurdity writ large. Clearly political, and showing the administrative state and the faction that backs it, are psychopathically pathological.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Your Getting Screwed By The System… Here’s Why.

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, people are getting screwed by the system, and the system’s solution… is to give the system more power to screw you. Politicians like Occasio Cortez, Bernie Sanders, etc… like to cite this as a reason to give those who are defrauding us unlimited power. Supposedly, then they will turn virtuous, once they have total power. Obviously this message resonates most effectively with children. People without the life experience to know better. These, shockingly, are also the people most likely to be caught by an idea. Because young people haven’t experienced enough to put ideas into context. I thought Marxism was fine and dandy, until I read about it and the history of it. Ignorant, Pollianish and unwise youth, have not learned about life, let alone history… and so are the progressive’s zealots.

The statistics on the decline of the middle class in the industrialized nations is undeniable. The question then becomes, why? Why have our once great industrial cities been hollowed out, to become cesspools of drug addiction, gang violence, crime, unemployment and hopelessness? The progressive’s who run those places would say it is the fault of evil, patriarchal, hegemonic, racist capitalists, who seek profit over the betterment of their fellow man! There is no end to Marxist rhetoric to “prove” their case. Studiously avoiding history in context, economics, psychology and wield Cartesian skepticism like a scalpel. Carefully avoiding cutting themselves with it. This is required for progressives, socialists and Marxists… because their philosophy has been disproved so many times and in so many ways.

Lets instead use these powerful tools of logic to discern if capitalism is actually the reason for the hollowing out of the middle class, or perhaps there may be some deeper, hidden reason. A reason we are directed away from… by red herrings. History is explanatory. In the 1960’s LBJ declared a war on poverty. Since then, the US has spent trillions of dollars to eliminate poverty, yet the results are quite the opposite. Poverty has not only increased, but the class mobility that was inherent in the capitalist US, has now become mired in the welfare state. One of the primary factors was the destruction of the nuclear family in certain demographic groups. The State replaced the father, which has led to diminished life outcomes, outside any other individual quality… like IQ or conscientiousness.

The rise of multinational corporations coincided with the growth in government in the US and Europe. As governments grew larger and less transparent, corporations grew more powerful and less locked to the profit loss equation. Because their profits no longer depended on the consumer… but government favor. I don’t know the date it changed, but at some point, probably in the 1990s, it became more lucrative for a corporation to “invest” in lobbying… than in new plant, workers or innovation. They say that concurrence does not denote cause, but when two things corroborate so closely, they do bare investigation. At the same time, regulations passed by the Administrative State, hindered the startup of small businesses, creating a lopsided economy, top heavy and bottom light.

When Trump was running for office, Obama famously said, how is he going to get the US to 3% growth, there is no magic button… but apparently there was. It was in repealing progressive regulations, taxes and policies. Changing the paradigm to one where wages are rising, unemployment is at record lows, especially in previously underemployed communities, and people again have hope for the future. (Except in progressive utopias). Progressives have run the US with nearly unlimited power for decades, and under their watch we have seen the family destroyed, wages lowered, savings stolen by inflation, as our children die of opioid overdoses. In three years Trump has reversed that by reversing progressive policies. A sane man can only conclude… it is progressivism that has screwed us.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Do We Crave Suffering?

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, one strange thing about the world we live in, is that to question a person who has been caught in lie after lie, is very rude, but it is acceptable, nay, duty, to call a person who has been caught in the truth over and over, a liar. Examples abound, but what I am interested in is, why? Why is it that when a person, we all know in our hearts is lying, we are so loathe to call him or her a liar, but the default position for someone who has been proven to have told the truth, is that they are lying, unless proven otherwise? The consequences for humanity are deep and resounding. Economies have been gutted, entire races have been slaughtered, persecution of every sort has flowed from the lips of liars, connivers and outright psychopaths… that have ruled humanity since time immemorial.

Machiavelli tapped into this in his letter to the Medici clan. In that renowned work he states that if someone, even a persistent liar, constantly claims to be telling the truth, most people will go along, even when they know he is lying. Machiavelli used the example of Pope Alexander the VI, since he was a renowned and accomplished liar. In that piece Machiavelli wrote that a prince need not keep his word if doing so would put him at any disadvantage. Combining lies with bad faith, so psychopathic, but quite progressive. Nevertheless, why is it that such a system works so well, when it comes to ruling humanity… Or does it? Perhaps being a liar and conniver is not best for society but only for the liar.

In modern times both Clintons are renowned and adroit liars, yet to question their word is considered the epitome of rudeness. His lie under oath, and again to the public, that he didn’t have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinski, is both proven and notorious. Her lie that she had no idea she had wiped her server, like with a cloth, is also notorious and even laughable. Yet the media bends over backwards to listen intently, to what is most likely a lie, every time they open their mouths. We are supposed to believe everything they say without question. This has the effect of making everyone complicit in the lies, and become an accomplice with the liars, connivers and fraudsters. Which is also amazing to me, why would we take on a sin that we need not, for the benefit of a deceiver, who is deceiving us?

Trump, on the other hand, is proven to be telling the truth over and over, yet is called a liar. When Trump mentioned the rape problem in Sweden, the media went apoplectic over it, calling him a liar. Yet when they went to Sweden to prove him a liar, they had to quietly slink back without releasing a word of what they found. Even when their reporters were harassed, they refused to report it, because it proved Trump right. The Russian collusion hoax, that we spent 40 million dollars and 3 years of his Presidency trying to prove, is just another example of this. To this day, no matter how many times Trump is proven to be right, the default position is that he is lying, until proven truthful. Why is it that so many people think it rude to call a liar, a liar, but not give an honest man the same courtesy?

Now, there are glittering lies and ugly truths, that explains some of it, but not all. Kipling also spoke to the subject in verse in his Gods of the Copybook Heading. Explaining the phenomenon but not the reason behind it. Obviously, the reason the liar connives and commits fraud is for personal gain, but why do we go along? Some probably are so mired with their own lives they don’t have the energy to think it through and just go with convention, others might vote the way their parents and grandparents voted and that is good enough for them, while there may be some who nihilistically want humanity to suffer, and so don’t as much believe but abet. Maybe all these responses are sufficient to answer the question, but I worry it is some deep unconscious misery quotient we all have, living in our id… making us crave suffering by whatever means?

Sincerely,

John Pepin
