Natural Rights and Legitimate Government

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, any government that alienates us from our natural Rights, is by definition… illegitimate. This is provably true for several reasons. The first and most obvious is that a government that alienates us from our God given Rights, must think the people exist to serve the government, in other words, they have reversed the role of government and citizen. Another is that the legitimate role of government is to protect our natural Rights, and any state that thwarts its primary purpose, becomes illegitimate by doing so. Furthermore, government in the West is based on a contractual relationship between the governed and the governors, we call them constitutions. In a normal contract, if one party violates even the tiniest clause, then the contract is null and void for both parties, except apparently, constitutions.

Government exists to serve the citizenry, not the other way around. People would exist, and indeed did exist before government, and we can exist just fine without it. Government, on the other hand, cannot exist in the absence of human beings. Oh, a group of Orangutans is called a congress, but I suspect that mostly alludes to the similarity between a bunch of feces throwing apes, and a body of lawmakers. So it is clear that since people predate government, government then is an expedient created by people, and so cannot exist without people, we can reliably conclude that people are more important than government. Put another way, government is created to serve the people, people are not created to serve government. To think it is different, is to confuse the real with the fabricated, the just with the unjust.

To be legitimate government must protect our natural Rights. This was a settled fact before the progressives, Nazis and Marxists found an intellectual nexus in Habermas. Today we are back to arguing if a penis makes someone a boy or a girl. Rehashing arguments that were settled centuries ago. Turning the ground of settled knowledge to quicksand for the gullible. If we go back to the hard ground of Enlightenment and Christian thought, that protecting the Natural Rights of its citizens is the primary role of government, the state regains legitimacy. If a mechanic refused to fix cars, but instead demanded to run a car company, you would say his rule was illegitimate. Government that refuses to protect our Natural Rights, yet demands to run our lives, is the same thing… Only different in scale.

It would appear that only in contracts called constitutions are one party, government, able to change it at will, since they say what it means, self police and have a monopoly on violence. Since they are in material breach of our constitutions now at all times. Their rule is obviously illegitimate. If you bought a house, then didn’t pay the mortgage, the lender would rightfully take the home and sell it, because you are in material breach of the contract. You wouldn’t have the option of using violence or force to keep it, you can’t change the mortgage contract at will, nor can you self police. Only government can change the rules arbitrarily… or can they? They apparently can, since they do, and we say little or nothing. Further alienating us from our Natural Rights, thus further delegitimizing them.

Today the only credibility most governments have is their monopoly on violence. That is their only claim to legitimacy. Constitutions that are not followed by the governors are no lawful hold on a people. Just as government that violates our natural Rights is confused about the whole reason for government. Plus, governors that don’t do what they are supposed to, while demanding to do things that they are not allowed to, show their lack of wisdom. That is why our illegitimate governors, who know they are in material breach of our Constitution, have an army protecting Washington DC. To protect them against the day we wake up and realize, they are impostors, and evict them from their usurped illegitimate occupation. Until then, maybe we should put them on notice… that we notice.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Programming

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, if you believe that the push for gun control and the spate of mass shootings are unrelated, I have some tranquil seafront property on the Moon to sell you. For the first time, gangland shootings are included in the “mass shooting” category. It used to be that when the Reds would blast some Greens in a drive by, the media would pretend it didn’t happen. Today, now that it serves the elite’s agenda, (to disarm the peasants before oppressing us), such shootings are reported as mass shootings. It is almost as if the media is trying to manipulate us, into being terrified of the unlikely event we get caught in a mass shooting, and so we are willing to disarm good people to protect armed bad people. Now that is an epic example of manipulating people into self harm… very progressive!

I find it exhilarating how the news always reflects the narrative that backs the elite’s agenda. Now that the elite are trying to disarm the people, the news is full of mass shootings. Later, it will be a racist cop shoots an innocent teen, who is target practicing with a Mac 10 from his Dodge Charger on 7th and Fairway. The video shows the teen was only shooting at garbage cans. Perhaps next week the media will be full of stories about how election integrity is a racist construct to disenfranchise the dead. Then, I am sure the plight of the illegal alien will be the focus of every news story, when the drive is on to make them voting citizens. This push pull keeps us off our feet. We don’t get to deal with one before we are assaulted by another “crisis. Which serves to disempower us and empower the elite.

When the elite wanted racial strife, they got it… the George Floyd death came at just the right time. Now that “racist” cop will go to prison where all cops belong. I hate to throw cold water on a party, well, that’s not entirely true, I do like throwing cold water on foolishness, but… wouldn’t it better serve the cause of eliminating “structural racism,” by criminally charging the politicians and bureaucrats who created the policy, of kneeling on a person’s neck to control a suspect? If eliminating structural problems is the goal. Then eliminate the structural problems. That is not the case however. The elite don’t want to eliminate structural racism, why would they do that, when it serves them so well? Heck… they want to create it where it doesn’t exist. No carpenter would throw away their tool box.

When they sought war with Syria, the news was full of the chemical attacks on civilians, that turned out to be false flags… who could have predicted that! Today, the main stream media lies more than they tell the truth. They cannot help themselves. In fact, almost everything they say is exactly backwards in some way or another. Lies by omission, misdirection and bold faced lies are the norm today. Goebbels would be abashed by our “journalists.” To list a microscopic number of the media’s lies of late… the Russian collusion hoax, the chemical weapon attack hoax, the Hunter Biden laptop cover up, the Russian bounty on our troops hoax, ignoring of the BLM riots, the widespread destruction and calling the Nov 6 protests an insurrection, are just a few of the media’s bold faced lies.

It is almost as if the media is a propaganda tool of the administrative state. Which must be mere conspiracy theory. Just because something is obvious, provable and self evident, that doesn’t make it true. What makes a thing true is if the media tells us it is. Truth is subjective now, not objective, we have evolved beyond that. Who are you to say a man didn’t self strangle while in custody, with paper sheets, so violently he broke bones in his neck, while the camera malfunctioned at both ends of the hallway, and the guards fell asleep from guzzling high test coffee,.. just because that death was very convenient to our pedophile elite? That is the story the media is selling… and you are buying. Just keep believing in the fairy tales the media tells you. They don’t call it programming for nothing.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Manipulated are Hated by Everyone… Even Themselves

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the most reviled people, are the easily manipulated. They are loathed by their manipulators, others who see them as weak, and themselves. People who view them, as so limp minded they can be manipulated to act against their own interests and give up their agency, not only hate them, but often actively wish the manipulated harm. As their comeuppance. Obviously, those manipulating them into self harm despise their victims, and the act of being manipulated engenders even more hatred in the manipulators, justifying their manipulations. Finally, they hate themselves because in their hearts they know they have been manipulated to self harm, but admitting it would make them look like idiots, while continuing self harm makes them actual idiots. So, to them, perception trumps reality.

Manipulation can take many forms. Lies, censorship, and red herrings are the most popular, but other swindles exist as well. No one denies that big tech censors people today, the debate has shifted to, if that censorship is legal. Enmeshing lies, censorship and distraction all in one. Very progressive! We have manipulation by open censorship, that is bolstered by the lie they are doing it for our own good, and the distraction of bigotry underlays it all. One thing they rely on is the cave. That we are willing to set in a cave and watch shadows be projected on a wall and call that reality. That is what setting before the nightly news has become. A cave where we are manipulated into self harm. Google manipulates search results, Facebook your feed, others as needed, as the elite corral us into a cult.

The results of the manipulations are obvious to anyone aware. Why has the cost of energy skyrocketed, immigration gone out of control, and DC needs a wall to protect them, from us… since the election? Why is it we are enraged when people protest for a return to constitutional rule, but sanguine when rioters burn down cities, in an effort to overthrow our Constitutional system? Why did we accept a year long shutdown that ruined us but made the elite exponentially more wealthy? How is it that the government of NY is planning on giving illegal aliens who lost their job, more than fifteen thousand dollars, but not citizen taxpayers? What is the deal with the untested biological agent we are lining up to get? We are accepting and doing all of this… because we have been manipulated into self harm.

The first step in not being manipulated is to disengage from manipulators. Stop watching the nightly news, it is not telling you the truth, they are manipulating you into self harm. Stop using Google, Bing and Microsoft search engines, They literally manipulate search results to control what you think. Delete your Facebook, Twitter and other big tech controlled social media accounts, they actively engage in manipulating their users by controlling what they see. Withdraw from those that manipulate you and they lose the ability. Instead get your news from a myriad of sources. Target those that openly tell you their bias. Such information undermines that organization’s ability to manipulate you. Those that hide their bias, start the relationship on a lie… by manipulating you into accepting them as unbiased.

People who are manipulated are not to be hated, they are to be pitied, and helped to escape the cage their tormentors have set up in their own minds. I admit, it is vexing, when someone spouts absurdity they should be smart enough to recognize as stupidity animated. Yet they are so brainwashed, they disagree with themselves without cognitive dissonance… because they no longer think for themselves. Contracting that out to psychopaths, who detest them, to do it for them. Reach out, try to penetrate the walls the elite have created in their detested victims minds, and help them escape. By helping them break loose from the shackles of mind control, by our overlords, we help ourselves and mankind itself escape the mind rot of malevolent would be totalitarian despots.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Legacy of the Covidiots

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, in a decade or two, if the West survives, we will be the butt of their jokes. Comedy movies of 2020 will abound, complete with people wearing masks and screaming at each other over wearing it properly. Schools with covid separation barriers will be lampooned. What used to be Polish jokes, then blond jokes, will evolve into covidiot jokes. Why didn’t they use urinal cakes in 2020? Because the covidiots would eat them. I imagine much mirth will be generated in the future by our stupidity. We make Gomer Pyle look sly. Which is good, in that we will have so damaged their fortunes with our profligate spending, money printing, foisting perversion on our children and our feckless foreign policy creating perfect conditions for the US to stumble into a civilization ending war.

Biden voters, I am talking to you, because anyone who thinks a crooked dementia patient is a good candidate for President, I gotta do business with you, before someone else cleans you out first. Of course, they didn’t really vote for Biden, not those who know what is happening. They voted for the deep state. The administrative state run by professionals, who can order our lives so much better than we ever could. I mean, they have degrees and stuff, while we, we just live in the real world, producing the stuff everyone needs. While they huddle isolated from reality, and so who is better to decide what is real? Obviously the professional, you Luddite. Although, there are many who knowingly voted for someone with diminished cognitive ability, thinking him better, because Trump’s race is orange.

Oh how the covidiot jokes will abound. Three men were about to be executed, an American, a Frenchman and a covidiot. The American stood there and said, “I regret only that I have but one life to give for my country!” they put the gun to his forehead, pulled the trigger and… nothing. The gun didn’t fire. Declaring it the will of God, he was freed. The Frenchman was hauled up next. He said, “Viva la France!” They put the gun to his head, pulled the trigger and… nothing. Again, declaring it the will of God, he was freed. Next came the covidiot. He said, “The safety is on.” Obviously we will deserve those jokes made at our expense because of our stupidity. Most of us are brainwashed by the nightly news. It’s really too bad they forgot to put them back in.

People who live in the future will almost certainly not inherit cheap and abundant energy, liberty, natural rights or prosperity. Our legacy, the legacy of the covidiots, will be want, hunger and poverty. People forced to live under those conditions must have a sense of humor. When faced with a cobra, a neanderthal eats it, a cowboy makes it into a belt, and a covidiot tries to drive it. Humor is someone living in want, needs. Tales from North Korea, where people live as our future overlords would have us, say that humor is how they get through the day. Hunger, fear and backstabbing characterize their days. Yet in some ways, according to those who have escaped, they are happier than westerners. Because we are so spoiled we have become covidiots.

Since we will have bequeathed to posterity, an unlimited global administrative staterun by a psychotic elite, we will deserve to be made sport of in the most mean spirited way. I am sure the Jews in the death camps had some pretty mean jokes about the Nazis. Who deserved to be ridiculed for their stupidity, malevolence and compliance. Compliance is what makes a Covidiot. As to stupidity, why is it that so many who never miss the news, believe in absurdity? Moreover, stupidity and compliance quickly develop into malevolence. The Nazis had the Jews, the Hutus had the Tutsis and the progressives have “white supremacists.” The target is dehumanized, vilified then attacked. Covidiots digging their own graves, as they joke with their executioners… about the stupid racists who will be buried there.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Pathological Corporate Governance

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, it is time for every owner of stock to write a letter to the firms we own, ordering them to engage in business, not politics. What is the role of a publicly traded corporation? A liberal might say it is to be a good neighbor, a conservative might say it is to earn money for the shareholders. A corporation that doesn’t make money is soon in bankruptcy, and poisoning customers is not a winning business strategy. The answer then is that corporations must make money and they must be good neighbors. To neither make money, or be a good neighbor, is to swindle the shareholders of our hard earned money. Which is the crime of fraud. Making us all the victims of fraud, shareholders, employees and customers. Shouldn’t we put a stop to it?

Why on Earth are corporations sending money to BLM? BLM, an openly Marxist, anti American, anti family organization that calls for violence, is not an organization that I would think deserves support, let alone hundreds of millions of dollars. Footlocker, for example, is said to have given BLM 100 million dollars. For that “wise” investment, BLM rioters looted a Footlocker the other night. Amazon also gave a ton of money to BLM. Now, that could be called an investment, because BLM is obliterating small businesses that compete with Amazon, thus increasing Amazon’s market share, Psychopathic, but effective. Coca Cola just took an unambiguously racist position in their, “Be less white.” employee diversity campaign. Burning to the ground a billion dollar trademark.

I cannot fathom how using corporate funds to stop election integrity laws serves the shareholders? Is it somehow in our interests to live in a despotism? Is that why you invest your hard earned money, to enslave your children to psychopaths? Not me, but then again… I am not very progressive. I have thought about it, and even in the most pathological sense, it doesn’t make sense. Because even the corporations themselves will be destroyed. It is like feeding a small alligator growing it up to eat you. Yet here we are. Some of our largest companies are fighting any attempt at election integrity. It is like our corporate leaders have fallen victim to brain controlling worms from planet X. Because they are wasting millions of dollars, destroying brands, and alienating shareholders, to establish a tyranny.

Corporate leaders are embracing CCP talking points. Those brain controlling worms must be pretty effective, because after giving the Chinese Communist Party the corporate secrets they were duty bound to protect, they are now puking up CCP propaganda. Of course, their actions can be explained without the need for Stargate Goa’uld, in that they could have been bribed. Even if they have been bribed, you would think that self preservation would kick in at some point. Unless they have an exit strategy for the planet, when it falls under CCP (Gangnam style) despotism, a world they have worked tirelessly to create. They are so bought and paid for, else have brain worms, that they don’t even know they serve at the suffrage of the share holders, you know, the people they are screwing.

What the hell are they doing in those corporate offices… LSD? It is time for shareholders of every rank, no matter how few shares you hold, to write letters to the companies WE OWN, and tell them, in no uncertain terms, we do not approve. Lets start casting around for better corporate leadership. We pay them handsomely to run the companies we own… just not into the ground, How many vacations, toys and distractions did you go without, so the executives can give that money to BLM, echo CCP talking points and fight election integrity? We go without so we can retire, get ahead and be self sufficient. It is up to you, do you like the path we are on? If you want to change it, all you need do is write a letter or two. Don’t whine that “it won’t work,” until you have tried it. That is a cop out and you know it.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Locus of Control and Culture

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, if you allow others to set your goals, even if you hit them, you will always be unfulfilled. It is only when we set our own goals, then live up to them, do we become fulfilled human beings, able to move to the next step. People with an external locus of control are especially prone to this problem, but even people with an internal locus of control are susceptible. Because we are immersed in culture, and culture has a defined set of goals, goals we are “supposed” to strive for. They are not human hearted, nor are they good, but they are pervasive. Moreover, they are ever changing. Persistently going from the good to the bad. Teens used to strive to have a family, home and good career to serve the first two… today it is career, hedonism and selfishness to serve the first two.

Locus of control, whether it is internal or external, only applies to the way we see and act in the world… not the way the world sees you. Due to social media, NSA spying and in a myriad of other ways the elite keep track of us, we are transparent to them. Both as individuals and as groups. They use that knowledge to manipulate us. Those who are the most plugged in, are the most effected, to the point of denying reality for the concocted reality of the media that calls itself unbiased. Such manipulations move our locus of control, from internal to external, as we succumb to the thought control that is modern media today. They can do this even to people who’s default is an internal locus of control, by managing what we think we know, and thus the perspective that informs the internal locus of control.

Culture is another way others move our locus of control outside us whether or not we know it. We cannot escape the culture as a fish cannot escape water. It surrounds us, supports us and in some sense, we are made of it. You or I can no more live in our culture and not ooze of it as someone could live in a cesspool and not smell of it. Our morality is set by the culture, of which religion used to be a big part, now not so much. Our tastes are set by culture, ie, escargot in France and french fries in the US. Even our personalities are effected by the culture, as we see the average Finn is less friendly than the average Irishman. These things effect our locus of control, by effecting our core personalities, wants and morals. Unless we recognize this effect and control for it as best we can.

Even those of us who have a default internal locus of control do so within this context. Often seen as the outliers, the socially awkward… or the innovators. Often the most internally focused locus of control is bounded by the limits of culture. As those limits expand or contract, so do the limits of an internal locus of control. No matter how you see the world, that the world runs your life and you are a leaf on the wind, else you are a force of nature and the world provides your playground, the frontier of that playground is always fenced at our cultural bounds. The real swindle is, when people are manipulated into thinking their goals are their own, when they have been programmed in by culture. Eschewing family, a home or your sex because they are offensive, is doing this.

If you chase externally, especially culturally set goals, you will run a hamster wheel all your life, die unfulfilled and never understand why. Because the goals our culture sets are the opposite of human hearted. Wealth, sex and power are hedonistic, unfulfilling and actually harmful to our psyche. The goals we are born with, the ones post modern society tell us are wrong, wanting a family, to be part of something greater and to worship God, not the state, are inner goals… culture deprograms us of. If we embraced internally set human goals instead, not only would our lives be better by every measure, but society and culture would follow. The wise are human hearted with an internal locus of control, even transcending the fence of culture and modern sensibilities… to be greater than we are allowed.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Government’s Sole Goal

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, government has but one goal, increase its power, that’s it. Everything it does as an entity is to that end. When a faction gets elected, intent on lowering State power, government will throw that faction like a bronco does a rider. All the talk about government helping people, protecting us, our Rights or arbitrating disagreements… is hokum. It is all about power, getting it, holding it and increasing it. If preventing crime works to increase government’s power, then government will come down on crime, but if increasing crime serves its goal instead, then government will do everything possible to increase crime. Government is an amoral phantasmal entity. It serves its own interests by pretending to serve everyone else. That so few of us know this also serves it and its evil goal.

When the interests of the people and government align, then government will appear virtuous. If low poverty serves governments primary goal, to increase its power, then it will create low poverty. Although, government doesn’t lower poverty out of a desire to help mankind, serve the people or leave a lasting legacy of goodness, hell no, if government does anything good, it is because that action serves government. Which means that government will sometimes do good. If we then take that lone good act, as the totality of government, we are being like the idiot who hugs a cute cuddly polar bear. Government does do good things on occasion, but not out of its virtue, but its self interest. Because that is the only interests government serves.

When the interests of the people and government misalign, like if high poverty serves government’s interest better, then we will have high poverty rates. This is far more often the case. That the interests of government clashes with those of the people it is supposed to serve. Because government is unique in that the more it fails, the more money, power and authority we grant it. Therefore it is more often in the interests of government to make things worse, to “fail,” enriching it, its cronies and enhancing its power. That is why government appears to be so incompetent. It is not, that incompetence is a masquerade, it masks the real competence of our ruling elite. They are very capable of doing that which increases their power, prestige and wealth… especially when it comes at our expense.

When a faction that serves the people comes into power, the government will vomit them out, as a dog does tainted carrion. Government is its own faction. The parties just provide teams for us to root for. They are theater. All democrats and most republicans are members of the government faction. It serves itself… not you or I. So, when a faction gets elected to change the paradigm, the whole of government rejects it. As we saw with Trump, they will spy, lie, and destroy innocent men, to force them out of power. Anyone who is a threat to governments power will be liquidated by the entrenched government faction. The bureaucracy only increases this tendency, by making most government officials immune from oversight, even of the vote. Everyone not helping the elite become despots is an enemy.

Government is the elite, the 10% that run the show, the dross. It exists to feed their egos, purse and belly. Only Pollyanna believes that government serves anyone but itself. Once we realize this ugly truth we can address it. Government is like fire, it cannot be allowed to roam free, as it does now, it must be contained. Like fire. Else it runs amok. Akin to the voices in Pandora’s box, it will delight the ear with tales of how it can save the world, protect the weak, end war, punish the oppressor, fix the wrongs, feed the poor and replace God himself, but when loosed, it emerges full of stings and pain. Because it is like fire, ever seeking a way to spread, and if not contained, it eventually burns everything. To restrain such a thing requires constant vigilance and absolute transparency. Watch it like a fire.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Year 2020 and Stanley Milgram

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, 2020 was one big Milgram test of humanity… that we failed. In every case we bowed to arbitrary authority, all they need do is claim, science, and we come like dogs to roast chicken. The cases of people obeying the most absurd arbitrary and cruel edicts are as terrifying as they are informative. The folly is not contained to the US it has spread across the planet. In Canada, if a child in a school gets the Wuhan flu, all the kids are to go home, and quarantine in their room, not coming out even to eat with the family, for 14 days. There are heartbreaking reports from parents about hearing their child cry alone in their room, because they were lonely. Imagine that? A parent, so obedient to assumed authority, they torture their own child. Like I said, we failed our Milgram test.

In the 1960s a researcher, Stanley Milgram, concocted an experiment in obedience. He told the volunteers that it was about learning. They would meet another “volunteer” and would “randomly” be selected to “teach.” A “researcher” would be standing there with a white coat and clipboard, looking very official. He or she would ask the other “volunteer” questions, and if answered wrong, the real volunteer would be ordered to push the button. Which they had been told would give the other “volunteer” a mild but increasing electric shock. 65% of the test subjects would push the button, when the other was pleading for mercy and even after they had apparently died. While that experiment in human obedience was enlightening, horrifying and discouraging, the one run in 2020… was terrifying.

In 2020 we accepted obvious lies, just because the liars wore white coats, carried clipboards and looked very official. When hydroxychloroquine emerged as a treatment, the medical establishment went into overdrive trying to discredit it. That treatment has since been proven to be safe and effective in early treatment. Making the medical establishment responsible for a multitude of needless deaths. Ivermectin is another very effective, and safe, treatment for covid 19, as it turns out. Yet doctors have been discouraged from prescribing it, or hydroxychloroquine, by the political class. Pile the mask absurdity, shut down of churches, the untested experimental biological agent we are expected to take, and walking on dry sand is bad but wet sand is okay, and you have an epic Milgram experiment.

The cost humanity has had to pay for this Milgram experiment cannot be counted. People’s businesses have been ruined by officially sanctioned rioting, educations permanently set back by the government monopoly school system, people laid off because of the arbitrary shutdowns, suicides by extroverts because of the government ordered isolation, drug overdoses due to the hopelessness instilled by the relentless fear mongering, opportunities lost as well as the corrosion of our aggregate mental health. That cost is somewhat balanced by the drastic increase in the fortunes of the psychopaths that run the show. Their corporate cronies have also become exponentially more wealthy, powerful and dangerous. All at the cost to us mentioned above… very progressive.

We turned out to be far more compliant than our malevolent overlords could have dreamed. While Milgram found the number to be 65%, in 2020 it turned out to be 80%. In some places everyone is wearing a mask, everywhere, even alone in their cars. They are future death camp guards for the 20% of us who think for ourselves. If you are one of the 80% who let professionals do your thinking for you, don’t rest easy yet, because the slaughter never stops. Since despots need an enemy they create them. So, while you may not be the enemy today, because your mind is like wet toilet paper, you may not be so lucky tomorrow, and you participated in extinguishing those who would have stood up for you. Like sergeant Hans Schultz, we will be the butt of jokes, without sympathy… for complying to absurdity.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Morality, Philosophy and Technology are Intertwined

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, after thousands of years of agriculture, philosophy and technological advancement, it was no coincidence that it was under Christendom, that the Enlightenment took place. Nor that the Industrial Revolution also happened under Enlightenment ideas tempered by Christian principles. Further, I am not the least shocked that the prosperity, health and freedoms we have today, are based on Christian philosophy. I am a bit surprised more people don’t give credit to our benefactors. Ingrates choosing to vilify those who have given so much for us. Things we take for granted, so we are willing to throw them away. Because, it is only by holding tight to those principles and ideas, that we can use them as a stepping stone to advance morally, technologically and philosophically.

Christian morality, the philosophy that is so reviled today by the smartest people in any room, (just ask them)… is the basis for all morality we hold in the West, like it or not. Why is slavery bad? Because Christian morality says, we are all created in God’s image, and who has the audacity to enslave an image of God himself? Why do we think bigotry is bad? Because Christian philosophy teaches that we are to treat others as we ourselves would want to be treated, and no one wants to be oppressed. Christians are morally forbidden from meting out that which we do not want for ourselves, beautiful in its simplicity and universality. Whether or not you believe that Jesus died on a cross for your sins… all of your morality is based on his life, death… and resurrection.

Why didn’t the industrial revolution take place in the Caliphate, pre British India or China? Because they didn’t have the philosophy for it. Advancement requires that philosophy rise first then technology comes after. They didn’t produce the Renaissance, Enlightenment, or Industrial Revolution, because it was not possible under their philosophies. While their philosophies served them well, in as far as they did, they were inadequate to foster the conditions that would lead to a paradigm shifting innovation, like capitalism. Rome had sufficient technology, but was mired in bureaucracy, outdated philosophies and too much corruption to create the conditions for entrepreneurs and innovators to thrive. Only in Christian Enlightened Europe did that happen, or apparently… could it have happened.

While Christians have, and still do, fall short of our calling to pick up our cross and follow Jesus, enough of us do, that society is changed for the better. Which allows our society to advance. Because Christianity is not a stultifying religion, it is one enamored with understanding the mind of God, through natural science. Not as a means to power, war or control, but knowledge for knowledge’s sake. That is another of Christianity’s gifts to mankind. Prior to Jesus, all knowledge, and much that came after, was horded and used to amass more power. Knowledge was rarely sought for its own sake, as a primary good. Instead, until Christianity came along, knowledge was considered a secondary good, something done to get a primary good. Like getting a colonoscopy to prevent Cancer.

Abandoning the foundations upon which our morality, technology and culture are built, is as stupid as cutting out the underpinnings from your house, to renovate the kitchen. In the end, you will be saved the cost of kitchen renovations, because the house will have been obliterated. Just as a house cannot float in thin air, hovering above what used to be its foundation… a culture, nation or science cannot hover above the wreckage of its philosophical basis either. Christians know this as do all wise people. Those mesmerized by an illusion do not. They can, but the fascination is often too strong for them to turn away. Plus, why look at reality when it is ugly and getting uglier, when the glittering lie is so lovely to behold? Because all that we hold dear hangs in the balance… and that loss will really sting.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Should We Have A Police Of Government?

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, if a thug robs you on the street, you would call the cops, but if the government robs you of your Rights, who do you call? Certainly not the police, they are the marshal arm of the government that is robbing you. The answer is, you call no one, instead you smile, wipe the blood from your lip, and ask, “May I have another?” Hoping the government has turned it’s malign eye to some other victim. Try waving the Constitution in front of a bureaucrat and see how far that gets you. That parchment protection is toothless unless we give them to it. Our forefathers created police as a deterrent to highway robbery, perhaps we should create police of government, to deter government from robbing us of our Rights? Then we would have someone to complain to… when government goes rogue.

Imagine the chaos if there were no police. We are getting a slight preview of it in progressive cities that have defunded the police. That defunding has been short lived, in that the crime wave it generated has swept those cities, washing them in every sort of outrage against civil society. Murders, robbery and rapes have skyrocketed in those cities. Yet, they still have policing, albeit at a limited capacity. Imagine if there were no cops at all? It would be chaos. Because the law abiding would try to live their lives in peace, but the pathological will be freed of limits, and they would reduce the world to poverty, violence and despotism. The most violent, malevolent and manipulative would rise to the top… like dross. That is exactly why our un-policed governments work.

Our governments are the wild west today. Everything they do is hidden for national security reasons and they are not held to any standard whatsoever. The reason the Deeps State loathes Edward Snowden, is not that he put the US in danger, but he exposed them for who they are, and what they serve. That light of scrutiny, although momentary, scalded them like a crucifix does a vampire. They will never forgive him, or any other real whistle blower. (BTW, we still don’t officially know the name of the whistle blower that started the first Trump impeachment trial, to protect him). Snowden and others showed us that the State monitors us in complete defiance of our Constitution. Obama was able to have citizens murdered by drone without trial or warrant, and 2020 showed us our votes no longer count.

One way to tell if the government is largely virtuous or corrupt is by the crime rate. Is the crime rate rising or falling? A rising crime rate is proof government is more corrupt than society. A falling crime rate is proof government is more virtuous than the societal aggregate. Today, not only in cities that have defunded the police, are the crime rates rising, but everywhere. Because people follow their leaders. You do, and I do, consciously and unconsciously. The more corrupt they are the more corrupt we will be. Moreover, their corruption is unchecked because they are not policed. They self police. Since we follow our leaders, and our leaders are corrupted by a lack of policing, our society is corrupted by that lack as well. No amount of police or draconian punishments will turn that ship around.

The ideal society would need no police of the citizenry or of government because everyone would be so virtuous. That society does not and has never existed. While some cultures are more civil, moral and industrious than others, none has ever been so godly they didn’t need supervision. The bureaucrats, politicians and judiciary, have abandoned their legitimate roles, for bank rolls. Since we are not ideal, and government officials certainly are not, then shouldn’t we create a police force, tasked with policing the elite? Hold them, criminally, to the tenets of our Constitution, like they hold us to their edicts. If they were held to our Constitution, and their own laws, to the letter, government would become transparent, accountable and no longer the wild west. That would be a boon to humanity for all time.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
