Government’s Sole Goal

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, government has but one goal, increase its power, that’s it. Everything it does as an entity is to that end. When a faction gets elected, intent on lowering State power, government will throw that faction like a bronco does a rider. All the talk about government helping people, protecting us, our Rights or arbitrating disagreements… is hokum. It is all about power, getting it, holding it and increasing it. If preventing crime works to increase government’s power, then government will come down on crime, but if increasing crime serves its goal instead, then government will do everything possible to increase crime. Government is an amoral phantasmal entity. It serves its own interests by pretending to serve everyone else. That so few of us know this also serves it and its evil goal.

When the interests of the people and government align, then government will appear virtuous. If low poverty serves governments primary goal, to increase its power, then it will create low poverty. Although, government doesn’t lower poverty out of a desire to help mankind, serve the people or leave a lasting legacy of goodness, hell no, if government does anything good, it is because that action serves government. Which means that government will sometimes do good. If we then take that lone good act, as the totality of government, we are being like the idiot who hugs a cute cuddly polar bear. Government does do good things on occasion, but not out of its virtue, but its self interest. Because that is the only interests government serves.

When the interests of the people and government misalign, like if high poverty serves government’s interest better, then we will have high poverty rates. This is far more often the case. That the interests of government clashes with those of the people it is supposed to serve. Because government is unique in that the more it fails, the more money, power and authority we grant it. Therefore it is more often in the interests of government to make things worse, to “fail,” enriching it, its cronies and enhancing its power. That is why government appears to be so incompetent. It is not, that incompetence is a masquerade, it masks the real competence of our ruling elite. They are very capable of doing that which increases their power, prestige and wealth… especially when it comes at our expense.

When a faction that serves the people comes into power, the government will vomit them out, as a dog does tainted carrion. Government is its own faction. The parties just provide teams for us to root for. They are theater. All democrats and most republicans are members of the government faction. It serves itself… not you or I. So, when a faction gets elected to change the paradigm, the whole of government rejects it. As we saw with Trump, they will spy, lie, and destroy innocent men, to force them out of power. Anyone who is a threat to governments power will be liquidated by the entrenched government faction. The bureaucracy only increases this tendency, by making most government officials immune from oversight, even of the vote. Everyone not helping the elite become despots is an enemy.

Government is the elite, the 10% that run the show, the dross. It exists to feed their egos, purse and belly. Only Pollyanna believes that government serves anyone but itself. Once we realize this ugly truth we can address it. Government is like fire, it cannot be allowed to roam free, as it does now, it must be contained. Like fire. Else it runs amok. Akin to the voices in Pandora’s box, it will delight the ear with tales of how it can save the world, protect the weak, end war, punish the oppressor, fix the wrongs, feed the poor and replace God himself, but when loosed, it emerges full of stings and pain. Because it is like fire, ever seeking a way to spread, and if not contained, it eventually burns everything. To restrain such a thing requires constant vigilance and absolute transparency. Watch it like a fire.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
