Limericks

Dear Friends,

There once was a place called the surveillance state,
Order enforced by mic, camera, and gate,
Pressure grows vast,
Released in a blast,
And the despots end up in a cardboard crate.

Rent seeking is quite legit,
A way to enrich the unfit,
Here’s the rub,
It’s a big club,
But you and I aren’t in it.

The insanity is building up zest,
Nutty people doing their best,
But what’s this,
A crazy priss,
And one flew over the cuckoos nest.

No need to worry or think for yourself,
Elites will do it for a good little elf,
Just follow along,
Singing a song,
And put your humanity on a high shelf.

There once was a prurient _____,
Who made his money by _____,
A crazy fellow,
Not at all mellow,
And would think for main ______.

Sincerely,
John Pepin
