The Way to End Corruption in Government

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the scandal at the FBI and DOJ, illustrate why governments need a Numa… a Fourth Branch. Today’s scandals are not the first nor will they be the last. History shows us that all governments become corrupt, the larger the faster, but the longer they can hang together as a putrid entity, the primary mechanism of institutional corruption is always law enforcement, and that a pinky swear is not a sufficient bond, to hold psychopaths to a constitution. Lately however, the corruption has bubbled to the surface like it rarely does. The entire national law enforcement agencies, as well as the national security apparatus, corrupted to political purposes. This has led to a cover up that in many ways is as bad as the crime. Which could have been averted by a Numa or Fourth Branch.

Governments become corrupt. That is a fact of life. History tells us the tale of how they become corrupt and that they all do… yet history is an ugly truth, while imagination is a lovely lie. Most people would rather believe a glittering lie than an ugly truth any day. So we continue along like history doesn’t have anything to say about the future. I wonder if that is why our schools, under the progressive tutelage of Dewey, changed history to social studies? Hiding historical lessons from us, so we would be ignorantly willing to retry the ones that failed spectacularly, very progressive. Yet, we are still faced with the fact that governments become corrupt, even and especially those with the role, power and scope to, “help the poor.” Such governments are rife for corruption… as history teaches us.

Daily, those of us who listen to Judicial Watch, are deluged with proof of absolute corruption at our national law enforcement agencies. Lying under oath to Congress by both the FBI bureaucracy in responses to Congress, perjury by the head of the FBI James Comey, the DOJ running interference for the FBI, scads of top FBI and DOJ officials resigning in disgrace, and the stonewalling about information how the Russiagate investigation started in the first place, these are the smoke that points to the fire. What is really chilling about this scandal, in our top law enforcement agencies, is that we have just started to scratch the surface! How much more is there to be discovered? If we had a branch of government dedicated to discovering such things… we wouldn’t have to guess.

A Numa or Forth Branch would be the police of the State. It would preclude government from using “national security” as a means to hide corruption. It’s role, function and scope would include prosecuting crimes against the Constitution. An oversight long due to be corrected. It would monitor every conversation of every politician, bureaucrat and executive, then transmit those conversations, including video, to the public via the Internet. Claims of national security would be adjudicated with the Numa as the people’s representative. The Numa would drug test every member of government on a monthly cycle, to insure those who send us to jail for taking drugs, are not themselves taking drugs. The Numa itself would be overseen by the very people it oversees, leading to perpetual animosity.

Today’s scandals show us again that we need a means to oversee government officials. As I have pointed out many times in the past, they are prone to corruption. Examples abound, like Sanders, Pelosi, Obama, the Clintons, etc… people that have got rich in politics. To use a Harry Truman Euphemism, “You can’t get rich in politics unless you are a crook!” Making them crooks by that Democrat’s standard. Exploiting power for riches is as old as the book, and will never go away, but scandals that involve the national law enforcement agencies and national security apparatus, are far more damaging of our nation as a whole. These must be addressed. If we allow the DOJ, FBI, CIA, IRS, etc… to become agents of a political faction, we have accepted tyranny.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
