Dear Friends,
It seems to me, the correct hierarchy of authority is God, Husbands, then Bosses and lastly the State. Sadly, our elites have inverted that correct hierarchy into its opposite. The modern ethos sees the state as the highest authority, then the boss, Husbands have no authority, and our thought leaders don’t believe God exists so he doesn’t even count. Under this paradigm, the only morality is the state. Everything must serve the state or else it’s a hindrance. This is the philosophy of the ancient Legalists, as well as the modern fascists and communists. The state is supreme and people exist to serve it. The result is a despotic state that cannot sustain itself.
Without God there’s no morality, without business there’s no wealth, and without the family there’s no future. The state is a mechanism to impose order. As such, to expect it to have a morality is a category error. Morality comes from religion as law comes from government. Moreover, morality is a prerequisite for law to work. This is shown by the laws of Draco. Athens was almost destroyed by debt bondage that was both legal and evil. Law absent morality can’t work… even when punishments are draconian. So God as the source of morality has more authority than the state and its law. To invert this can only lead to trouble. It is a state without morality legislating to an immoral people. That’s a gourmet recipe for chaos. What are the morals and edicts of God though?
God being the creator of heaven and Earth, of all that is seen and unseen, means his word isn’t tyrannical… it’s an instruction manual. You can read the manual or figure it out. Indeed, following the manual is easier. Living a natural life as God instructs leads to children, better raised children, strong communities, prosperity, and high trust societies. Meanwhile, living an unnatural life of sin leads to childlessness, poorly reared children, poverty, crime, and low trust societies. God doesn’t impose these on us, we impose them on ourselves by how we act. He just tells us the best way to act. This is the basis for the morality or better, instruction manual that God gives us. That’s another reason God must be at the top of the hierarchy, his instruction manual comes from the manufacturer. It’s base code.
The father is the traditional head of the family while the wife is the head of household. They are partners, each sovereign in their own sphere. There is a whole section in the instruction manual for this. A user manual tells the users how best to apply their product. This is often done to optimize the experience. Moreover, when there are two units the tasks are optimized for each. That’s how the family is supposed to be set up according to the instruction manual. Like a mine and a smelter. The mine produces ore and the smelter turns it into metal. Patriarchs mine the world and matriarchs turn it into a family. Take one away and the other is useless. Not that a woman or a man is incapable of doing the other’s role, but each produces optimally when in their optimal roles.
A boss is a stand-in for the farm. Farms and businesses are where resources are brought into the family. This means that the authority of a boss is less than that of a husband and God, but above that of the state. A manager can order an employee to load a truck during working hours because the relationship is voluntary and remunerated. A state can’t legitimately command; it can only forbid. It doesn’t pay us to take orders; we pay it to exist. The amoral power to forbid but not command puts the power of the state at the bottom. When that hierarchy is inverted and the state is supreme, the result is despotism, poverty, and war. These are suboptimal results. This is why the correct order of authority is God, Husbands, Bosses, and lastly, the State.
Sincerely,
John Pepin
