The Character Of The Culture Determines The Future Of The Nation

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the reason Third world countries are Third world, is not due to imperialism, poverty, poor geology or climate, they are Third World because corruption is endemic in their societies. Where you cannot trust anyone to do business, business doesn’t get done, and poverty results. The laws are necessarily draconian and arbitrary, and the people might display great humanity inter-personally, but they must follow the Golden Mean of their cultures. These are not causes they are effects. Obviously, where the culture itself fosters corruption, those with the least morality will rise to power. The dross always floats to the top. Moreover, anything they become involved in, they will carry the burdens of their culture, like the UN, which is corrupt from top to bottom and back up again.

Today we are getting a good view of the results of the endemic corruption in the World Health Organization (WHO). That corruption helped make a local outbreak of a disease become a pandemic that has shaved quite a chunk from the world’s GDP. I hear the WHO spends almost a third of their budget on first class airfare and other expenses. Now we find out they are the lackeys of Imperial Marxist China, which is not surprising, but also that schemes to defraud the UN of money are rampant… again, sadly, not surprising. While the WHO is utterly, completely and totally corrupt stem to cudgel, every other international body is just as corrupt. It is almost like giving psychopaths, from places where corruption is a virtue, unlimited power, with zero oversight, might not be the best idea?

The culture of a people is like the mindset of a person. It is a set of underlying programs that run the show when our focus is elsewhere. You don’t actively breathe when you are doing something do you? No… your subconscious does all that stuff for you. It does more than just that. When you drive a car, do you remember every moment of that experience? No, you listened to the radio, talked or your mind wandered. You did it on autopilot. Culture works the same way. The culture of a nation runs the show in the background. The body politic or corpus plebeian, might be focused on a present danger or opportunity, while the culture, society and economy work in the background. Like your subconscious. Moreover, that programming, in both you and the culture, determine your future.

You might have heard the old saw, the rich are rich because they have a rich mindset, and the poor are and always will be poor, because they have a poor mindset… or maybe you haven’t, nevertheless, it is true. That we achieve largely what our subconscious programming tells us is not great insight, it is common sense. That it also effects nations as it does people… is. I don’t think many people recon that way. That while their own subconscious effects their life outcomes, the subconscious of the nation, the culture, society and economy, effect it’s outcome as well. If the culture is of corruption, no one pays taxes, everyone cheats everyone else, the courts are corrupt, etc… the outcome of that nation will be diminished, just as it is for a person programmed to be poor. They are in fact the same thing.

How to solve the problem then of Third World nations always being Third World? To solve the culture problem one must get to first causes. Force the elite to follow their own laws to the letter. Hold those that make the laws to the highest standard, and do it by invasive surveillance. It is possible and inexpensive today to put every chamber and office of government on the internet for any citizen to see and hear. No part of government should be opaque to a citizen, unless it is up to no good, which they usually are. Such measures would force the top to become virtuous. Since, as Confucius said, the people follow their leaders, the people would follow and the culture would be changed. Only that way, can a Third World nation no longer need always be poor, disease ridden, lawless and oppressive.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
