Limericks

Dear Friends,

Politics or merit and a cog or wit,

Make every decision with ruthless grit,

One is despotism,

The other liberalism,

And either poverty or wealth will we inherit.

Pollyanna simply wanted to save mankind,

Working diligently to build tyranny defined,

She didn’t allow for nuances,

So had unintended consequences,

And it turns out Pollyanna was utterly blind.

Don’t call Tommy Robinson he’s doing time,

In maximum security but I hear he’s fine,

I wasn’t aware,

Why is he there,

He committed a heinous thought crime.

As the epic failures pile up by the hour

The public’s opinion starts to turn sour,

What a predicament,

Only in government,

Does ineptitude lead to more money and power.

Smart grifters are quite explorative,

And charity makes a great narrative,

Behind the curtain,

One things certain,

Fake virtue has always been lucrative.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
