Are You a Naysayer or a Visionary?

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, anyone can come up with an unlimited number of reasons why a thing cannot be done, but only a select few can come up with reason how to do something. History shows that it isn’t the former group, who move humanity towards prosperity, health and technology, but the latter group who improve the lot of Man. While it is easy to get discouraged, to stubbornly remain encouraged, takes will and vision. Moreover, nothing ever invented or created by humans didn’t it’s detractors who said it can’t be done, those sad people who lack vision are a huge drag on humanity’s ability to solve our problems. It’s like telling someone drowning in knee deep water, they cannot get out, when all they need do is stand up. Once a thing is invented, those same people will try their best to take credit and control of it. This is important for everyone to understand, nothing is impossible, someone just hasn’t figured out a way to do it yet.

Perhaps the most widely known example of an idea being stolen is Eli Whitney’s cotton gin. Before he invented a mechanical way to remove the seeds from cotton it had to be done by hand. A very expensive and labor intensive process. Slaves were the most economical way to remove the seeds and the demand for cotton was a strong incentive to have slaves. Even though the work was done by slaves cotton was very expensive and so only the wealthy could afford it. Most people couldn’t imagine a way to remove the seeds mechanically so the old way survived for centuries. When Eli Whitney invented a mechanical means to remove the seeds, the implications were huge, the price drop and greater availability of cotton clothes allowed anyone to own a cotton shirt. His invention, one that was considered impossible, evolved the cotton industry and improved the lives of every human born since.

Yet that invention was stolen by those who had neither the intelligence, vision or gumption to have invented it themselves. They might not have been smart enough to invent it, but they were greedy enough to steal it, claiming it for their own. Ben Franklin’s patent process, originally designed to protect the inventions of visionaries, was turned against a visionary. It took decades of litigation before Eli Whitney got the patent back, but even so a judge refused to force companies that were using Whitney’s invention, to pay him royalties for it. That process has played out many times in the past, lowering our standard of living immeasurably. Today our government is attacking the patent process with all it’s might.

Mention an idea to most people and the response you will get will be almost universally negative. They will hammer you with explanations why it won’t work. You will face opposition from the very people who would benefit the most. This is because most people lack vision, they believe, it has always been this way and so it will always be this way. Many think if it was a good idea, someone else would have thought of it before, others will simply scoff. It seems to be an attribute of humanity that most close their minds as soon as a new idea is mentioned then set themselves against it with the fervor of a zealot. Which seems to have become the role of government, to stifle innovation of individuals, and push innovation that empowers government.

Mention an old idea that has failed over and over and since it is something they are familiar with, they will jump on board. As crazy as it is, people eschew the new and take comfort in the old, even when the old has been proven a failure and the new appears to be a winner. No place is this more true than with those who call themselves progressive. It is almost like they label themselves the opposite of what they are, to hide the fact. Mention that there is an unlimited amount of resources and they will scoff, tell them that there is no upper limit on the number of people, and they will call you a lunatic, it is as if they want the lot of humanity to be suffering and want. Which only benefits those who are above the average lot of humanity.

Lionizing visionaries has been what has made America exceptional. In the past, school children have been regaled with stories of Ben Franklin’s inventing the Franklin stove, Thomas Edison’s inventing the light bulb, Savory’s invention of the steam engine, Jefferson’s ideas about liberty, Morse’s invention of the telegraph and Gutenberg’s invention of the movable type printing press. These men were taught as heroes to American school children. A sense of awe was instilled in American children for those who have vision, and as a result, those children went on to invent and see possibilities instead of impossibilities. Today, our government monopoly schools don’t teach how visionaries are great men… but slave owners, greedy businessmen and megalomaniacs. Children are taught to be naysayers instead of visionaries, and so are no different than children around the world, who are also taught to stifle innovation instead of embracing it.

There are still a few among us however who see things differently. Those few see possibilities instead of impossibilities. They have the ability to envision ways to bypass old road blocks and forge new paths. These are the people who move humanity towards a better future. Like Eli Whitney and his cotton gin, an invention that lowered the cost of a cotton shirt so anyone could afford one, these visionaries cut a trail to the future. Sadly, most and especially government, hold the visionaries back, tugging at their shirt with negativity, inculcating our children that entrepreneurs are bad, tripping them up with regulation and dragging on them with taxation. We all suffer when the naysayers win, we all benefit when the visionaries win, yet most of us side with the naysayers. Isn’t it time to teach all children the world over to see possibilities instead of impossibilities?

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Federal Reserves Zero Interest Rate Policy

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, you can push a car to start it, but if the engine is broken, it will not start no matter how far, fast or how long you push it, or how well it ran at one time… If an economy needs a zero percent interest rate, that is a symptom that the economic system is broken. That several nations in Europe have have negative interest rates is a sign those economies are broken. This week Janet Yellen said the Federal Reserve will not raise interest rates above zero, and could even go negative, if the economy falls into recession. Basically a full admission that eight years of zero interest rates has produced nothing in terms of an actual economic recovery. The helicopter drop of free money given to government and corporations has not expanded the real economy, but filled bubbles, bond bubbles, stock bubbles, and who knows what else has been bubbled up by this zero interest rate policy, (ZIRP). History is adamant about the results of bubbles however, they burst, and when they do economic catastrophes result.

Economic theory, money theory in particular, says that when the amount of money produced is at the same rate as growth in gross domestic product, (GDP) there is no inflation, but for every percentage point above GDP, it creates a percent of inflation, and for every percentage point below the rate of growth in GDP, there will be a percent of deflation. That the rate of money printing has exceeded the rate of GDP growth for so long, and by so much, yet there is actual deflation, shows, not that economic theory is wrong, but that there is a huge drag on the economies of the US and Europe. The only way to have deflation with so much money flooding the system, is that it is not reaching wage earners but instead going to cronies, stock buybacks and salted away by the rich, who have access to the free money. If that money got into the hands of the people it would generate Wiemar inflation.

The interest rate in the US and Europe has been at zero since Obama got elected, initially zero interest along with quantitative easing, (QE), or in other words, monetizing the debt, was to restart the economy after the 2008 recession. The first round failed to get the economy going so more QE was done to gin it up. That didn’t work, so the Federal Reserve did it again, to no avail, now the economy is addicted to zero interest rates and any rise at all, even a paltry .25% would cause the world’s economy to melt down. (Not my words but those of Keynesian economists like Krugman and Blanchflower). No healthy economy would putt along with zero interest rates, let alone negative rates, without skyrocketing inflation. To give you an idea of how much money was printed, QE3 could have made 85,000 random people millionaires, every month!

That is the elephant in the room, the economy still requires life support 7 years after the recession, with no end in sight. The Federal Reserve is in quite a pickle… If they raise rates, the economy will implode, if they don’t, the economy will explode. They are indebted to those who have got the benefit of all that free money, the elite, so they have to bend to their masters and keep it low. Remember, if they raise interest rates at all, even the pitiful one quarter of one percent, the global economy will implode, which would show the Obama economy to be what it is, instead of what it isn’t. They know better than to make Obama look bad.

Yet the media that calls itself unbiased touts how great the economy is. The official unemployment rate is around 5.6% which is full employment, the stock market, despite some recent setbacks, is near record highs and stock valuations against profits are at an historic high. The brainiacs who tell us what to think, cheer us to buy, buy buy, and forswear savings, they tell us the measure of an economy is how many auto sales there are, and the rise in the cost of housing. They explain that as long as auto sales are good and the price of housing is going up, all is well with the economy. These statistics are what are seen.

What is unseen is far more scary. The number that is reported as unemployment is U3 unemployment, which only counts people actively looking for work, or in other words, those on unemployment insurance. The actual number is the U6 rate, which includes people who would like to work but have given up, which is closer to 10.3%! One in ten people out of work! That represents a huge amount of slack in the labor force, and shows why there is so little wage growth, moreover, almost all the employment gains in the last 7 years has been by immigrants, the American worker is being squeezed out of work by cheaper immigrant labor. Where are the soup lines you ask? They are hidden by food stamps, ebt cards and the dole.

The stock market’s historic rise has been driven by stock buybacks, institutional investors and more importantly, Federal Reserve interventions. The Federal reserve has been buying stocks and bonds through their proxies to insure the market only goes up. This creates a false sense of reality. The illusion is bolstered by companies that by their own stocks to drive up the price. The bond market is manipulated as the Federal Reserve buys bonds, which drives up the price, and therefore the yield goes down, furthering the illusion that all is well. This staves off the market’s finding an actual price for those stocks and bonds making the economy appear to be what it isn’t.

What is the titanic drag then that is breaking our economy? To further our analogy of a broken engine, the sand of regulations creating a drag on economic investment, is in the crank case, welfare that creates a negative incentive for people to work, has drained the battery, taxes which remove much of the profit from an investment in the actual economy, has plugged the fuel filter, a voyeuristic government that demands more and more intrusive monitoring of every action of the people and businesses, has removed the tappet covers, the new class philosophy of maximizing profits for upper management at the cost to shareholders, customers and employees, is shattered the gears from the transmission, as well as zero interest rates that create pernicious incentives for capital flow, which is like using nitromethane, the wrong fuel. Since none of these drags will go away without a total reset, and the interests of those in power are intricately tied to them, the only answer is to keep interest rates at zero, or negative, to protect the mask of prosperity for as long as possible.

What it all boils down to is that our economy is about to crater. An illusion only works for so long before someone walks into it and exposes it for the illusion it is. That the economy needs to be pushed by zero interest rates for so long, is indicative of an underlying problem not addressed by interest rates, it is a structural problem instead of a cyclical one, if you will. It is like pushing a car to start it because the battery is dead, but no matter how far you push it, the engine will not start. Someone standing by the road, could look at the car and see it is moving, but that is only an illusion it is broken, and cannot move itself. At some point those pushing become too tired to continue and the car stops altogether. That is where we are now.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Christian Genocide in the Middle East

Dear friends,

It seems to me, as I peruse the media that calls itself unbiased, there is a dearth of news about the Christian genocide in the Middle East. Where there are reports the reaction of those who write comments is horrifying. Those who would act are vilified and those who speak out are condemned, which has a chilling effect on those who are righteously offended, act or speak out. The policy of the US, European countries and most of the world is to let the Christians in the Middle East be slaughtered. Few care, less act speak out and even less act… and everyone who doesn’t at least speak out is guilty as a result. History will not hold us innocent, the atrocities are on the internet for all to see, no one reading this article doesn’t know that little girls as young as 9 years old are repeatedly raped every day, no one can claim ignorance, in fact, even at the mention of saving some of the persecuted Christians brings howls of hatred and vitriol. Meanwhile, the US government as well as European governments are importing the very people committing the genocide. Your lack of compassion will be very expensive indeed.

The genocide of Christians in the Middle East is the most widely known and least reported events going on today. When the Muslim Brotherhood gained power in Egypt the Copts were in the crosshairs. The world couldn’t be bothered with mere Christian churches being burned to the ground and the treasures looted. In fact Obama was a big supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood even as they began a crusade to exterminate Christianity from Egypt. When El Sisi seized power and ousted the Muslim Brotherhood, Obama was furious, history has shown El Sisi has protected the Christians, and now Egypt is one of the few Muslim countries that Christians are safe, and Obama still waxes a grudge towards El Sisi.

The US invasion of Afghanistan was a death knell to the Christian population there. The Christians were a sizable percent of the population there, now there are none. The military was told not to intercede in the extermination of Christianity there because it would send the wrong message. The rise of ISIS began a whole new chapter in the persecution of Christians for simply being Christian. ISIS got weapons from Benghazi in Libya and ride in brand new Toyota trucks. They travel in huge columns yet are seemingly safe from air interdiction, even as they mass to conquer Christian cities, to enslave the women and girls, while they slaughter the men and boys with glee. Showing off American made weaponry, humvees and ammunition, they boast they will soon be killing Christians in Europe and the US.

Meanwhile, the media that calls itself unbiased is silent. They bend over backwards to aviod telling the truth that it is our government’s policy to exclude Christians from asylum. They paint the plight of the Muslim refugees as pitiful, even though mot of them are fleeing economic hardship. They utterly ignore the Christian genocide, as if not speaking of that evil indemnifies them for it. The unbiased media tells us constantly how evil Christians are and how wonderful the Muslims are, even as the rich Muslim countries refuse to take in a single Muslim or Christian refugee. No one has fled to a Muslim country without being herded into a refugee camp for generations. The Palestinians come immediately to mind.

When an article does slip out t is always an attack on someone who is acting. The unbiased media always leaves out that it is US and European policy to exclude Christians, then goes on to rip apart the human hearted man, the empathetic woman and the compassionate person. The comments are even more frightful. Comment after comment bashes compassion, human heartedness and empathy, tacitly supporting genocide. The hate in the hearts of so many is saddening. Some of the comments are utterly absurd, yet they are written with the ardor of a zealot. All of which speaks loudly of where we are as a human race… Do those who lack compassion deserve it, and will those who lack empathy, get any?

The atrocities ISIS and others are committing are some of the most heinous ever committed, not only are the wicked they are televised. The Animals in ISIS gleefully video tape their atrocities in a professional manner and post them on the internet. Drowning Christians, cutting their heads off, blowing their heads off, raping little girls after praying, the list would make Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot blush. ISIS wants people to know what they are doing. Perhaps for the first time in human history, evil is openly slaughtering people, openly committing atrocities and openly bragging about them, and the world ho hums. Never before would atrocities such as these have been ignored, those who came before us, even those who owned slaves, would have spoken, would have been outraged and would have acted, but today, nothing, there is a total lack of empathy, human heartedness is dead. Look around you, those who you see walking past are dead inside, they have no soul, they lack even the most basic human compassion, that which they do show is mere window dressing.

Traditionally, in law as in judgment, ignorance has been an excuse. If someone throws a rock over a hedge, and it hits someone killing them, their claim of ignorance was sufficient to save them. Today there can be no claim to ignorance. The atrocities are in your face, you have full knowledge, you know exactly what is happening, any claim of ignorance will be met with the scorn it rightly deserves. Those committing the atrocities have more of a claim to ignorance then you do. History will hold our generation as the most vile of any that have come before us… and we will deserve it. Bonhoeffer said, “Not to speak is to speak, not to act is to act…” Your lack of speaking, and acting, shows who’s side you are really on, and his is the path to Tartarus.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Glittering Lies and Hubris

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, many people have a sense of superiority because they refuse to see what is right in front of them, instead believing a glittering lie. By their very nature a glittering lie is easier to believe than an ugly truth. A glittering lie is crafted so it catches the eye, tempts the mind and wets the appetite while an ugly truth is unappealing, the mind recoils at it and the stomach turns when it is said. In this way those who spread glittering lies catch so many people in their net. Of course when a glittering lie is questioned you can rely on those spreading it to attack the person making the argument instead of the argument, this is because it is a lie and so cannot stand the scrutiny of reason. Another sure fire way to spot a glittering lie is by asking yourself, “who will benefit?” If the answer is the person making the allegation, and it will cost you handsomely… it is probably a lie. To fall for a glittering lie is the easiest thing to do, many have and met with catastrophe for it, will you?

Human history is just a series of people falling for glittering lies. The German people fell for a glittering lie in the 1930s, the American people fell for a glittering lie in the same decade, the French fell for a glittering lie in the 1790s, the people of Cambodia in 1975, and the list goes on and on. The people fell for the lie, then realized too late it was a lie, then lived through horrors, economic hardships and unimagined violence as a result. A glittering lie is never told for the benefit of the people, no, it is told so some villain can seize power over the people. Any time a villain gets power over people he or she uses it. The result is never equality, a better environment, prosperity or peace, the result is always the opposite.

During the time the people are actively falling for the lie, those who have swallowed the hook have a sense of righteousness. They look down their noses at those idiots who are too dull to see the glitter and stand amazed at their own intelligence, acumen and open mindedness. Those who try to call attention to inconsistencies are hated, and when they are proven right, they become despised. Take the example of Edmund Burke. History proved him correct about the eventual result of the French Revolution, which made those who fell for the glittering lie loathe him all the more. No one likes someone who is right when they themselves are wrong, it proves the other’s greater acumen, intelligence and open mindedness, to hate that is human nature.

People who tell glittering lies always appeal to the emotions, but a lie is best when it contains bits of truth, so by combining emotion with a little truth, they make their lies appear to be obvious truths. Hitler told the German people such a lie, he appealed to their emotions in the slogan, “Strength through joy,” and the superiority of the German people, the super race… He spoke to their recent economic hardships by claiming the planned economy would give them prosperity, and he connected with the German idea of the Volk. When Winston Churchill said Nazism was a threat, he was drummed out of office, called a Luddite and spent years on the desert. Once he was proven right, the British people realized they needed him and elected him to office. When the war was over however, they summarily drummed him back out of office, because while they knew they needed him during the war, that he had been right all along made him hated by the new class who had been wrong.

The planned economy is another such glittering lie. Just as it failed in the French Revolution, USSR, Cambodia, China and everywhere else it has been tried, those who shill for it, never tire of it and ignore the tremendous human suffering it has brought into the world, and go on to claim it is inevitable. Those who have been proponents of the planned economy have been lionized regardless of the atrocities they have wrought, Che Guevara, Lenin, Trotsky, Marx, and a whole host of college professors and deans. Those who disagree are attacked personally and are marginalized. John Maynard Keynes is a economic giant even today, after his theories have led to successive bubbles, while Frederick Hayek is still wandering in the desert of economic theory. Keynes told a glittering lie while Hayek told an ugly truth.

Look at the vitriol Christianity is showered with today by the new class. They despise Christianity, all the more when it is proven right about an issue, be it the atrocity of abortion on demand, Pope John Paul’s stand against socialism, miracles or any number of issues. Those atheists who tell the glittering lie that Christianity is evil, always point to some atrocity someone who called him or herself a Christian did, hundreds of years ago, that was in direct contravention of Christian doctrine, principles and Jesus himself would find revolting. Some even justify the present genocide against Christians in the Middle East, as deserving, because of colonialism, antisemitism and the dark ages. Despite their own antisemitism, colonialist intentions and despotic policies, policies that are exactly what they claim Christians did wrong! While they point an accusatory finger at Christianity, for what it doesn’t say, three point back at them for what they do and intend. What the atheists who turn a blind eye to Christian genocide are really arguing, is that the innocent little 9 year old girl deserves a daily gang rape, it is just, since people she never met, is not related to, acted unchristian like and lived hundreds of years ago… did.

Those that believe the glittering lie will say, the science is settled, history has spoken, it is justice, it is inevitable and call it historical responsibility, etc… they will personally attack anyone who points out the inconsistencies as being Luddites, unable to grasp the intricacies, the argument is too subtle and dull witted, along with a whole host of pejoratives, withheld for those who apply logic to a glittering lie. Those who start and further a glittering lie always stand to gain power over the people if their lies are accepted. Just as today’s global warming alarmists stand to gain total control over the economy, our lives and gain power that historical despots could only dream of. To see a glittering lie for what it is, requires an open mind, probing logic and an eye for inconsistencies, that so few human beings are able to do these things and stand up to the personal attacks, smears and laughter of those who have fallen for the lie, is why our history is littered with human suffering.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Iran “Deal.”

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, if Muammar Gaddafi had pursued nuclear weapons he would be alive today. By their actions it would appear that our leaders want nuclear weapons to proliferate. What do I mean by that? Taken in the aggregate, the actions of world leaders create huge incentives for despots to get nuclear capability and mortal consequences if they don’t. You can argue that they are stupid and that’s why they create such pernicious incentives, but you cant argue the incentives are not there, are real and are powerful ones. So basically, either our leaders are so idiotic they can barely keep their hearts beating, else they are villains. Either scenario is chilling and will directly lead to human suffering on a massive scale.

North Korea was intransigent in their nuclear program. Clinton cut a deal with then despot Kim mentally ill to “prevent” them from getting nuclear weapons. The deal was cut and North Korea got everything they wanted from the deal. Such a deal it was. Even though the Clinton administration found out North Korea was cheating on the deal, in their cowardice, stupidity or villainy, they did nothing about it. They hid the fact, because if they allowed the people to know, they would have to do something, and doing something was off the table. The result was that North Korea became a nuclear power, and now has at least several deliverable nuclear warheads. Many say those warheads are electro magnetic pulse weapons, a doomsday weapon, one of which could eliminate the US.

Pakistan developed nuclear weapons as a result of India’s development of them. The nuclear program of Pakistan was aided by Abdul Qadeer Kahn’s stealing of uranium enrichment secrets from the Netherlands nuclear facility in which he had worked. By 1987 Pakistan detonated it’s first nuclear bomb. Abdul Qadeer Kahn, (A Q Kahn) then disseminated the stolen technology to every other Islamic state allowing them to nuke up too. Although such dissemination of nuclear technology was, and remains illegal, Pakistan considers A Q Kahn a national hero and protects him from arrest. Today Pakistan is on track to be number 3 in the world in deliverable nuclear weapons. The international community did nothing to prevent Pakistan acquiring nuclear weapons then and does nothing to limit the production of them today.

Muammar Gaddafi’s end of life experience was quiet impressive of the villainy, or stupidity, of Obama and European leaders. Gaddafi had given up his nuclear weapons program both publicly and credibly. He gave up the technology he had got from A Q Kahn and turned away from sponsoring terror. He certainly was an evil man, but he had set a new precedent by giving up his weapons of mass destruction, (WMD) program. Once he did, the world leaders ginned up a rebellion from Islamofascists in Benghazi against him. Then our leaders launched an air campaign to back up those fanatics that led to Gaddafi’s overthrow and humiliating death. The message was clear as it could be, our leaders told despots the world over, don’t give up your nuclear program else you will die the same as Gaddafi.

Iran watched all this unfold with baited breath. The end of the world fanatics that run Iran learned from the lessons of North Korea, that you can cut a deal with the US to get whatever you want, and you don’t have to honor your part, the deal is just to give you room to develop the technology and money to help, the leaders of the world will do nothing, even when they catch you cheating. They understood the lessons of Pakistan, the world will do nothing of consequence to stop you, even if you spread the technology around. They heard the message the world leaders sent when they killed Gaddafi, if you give up your nuclear program, the world’s leaders will come after you with a vengeance eventually killing you and your family, in the most humiliating way possible.

The result? Iran has cut a North Korea style deal with the US granting their nuclear program legitimacy, funding it to the tune of over 100 billion dollars and even letting them verify their own compliance! Iran is getting sanctions lifted, billions of dollars, a pledge from Obama to militarily protect them from our allies, legitimacy, the removing of a high ranking Irani terrorist from criminal charges for executing an American… and a guaranteed path to an A bomb in 10 years, if they actually comply with the deal, which they will not. Why should they? They self verify so no one can actually claim they are not in compliance. The US got nothing at all from the deal, Pastor Sayeed still rots in prison for being a Christian, Americans are still held hostage, there will be no verification, Iran will still be developing delivery technology, meanwhile Iran has ratcheted up it’s anti Israeli and anti American rhetoric. Yes… Gaddafi would be alive today if he hadn’t given up his WMD program. I predict Iran will be detonating it’s first nuclear bomb in less than 5 years, all because our leaders are either stupid or villains, lets pray it is not over Tel Aviv or an EMP over the US… that will come later.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Elections have Consequences…

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, elections have consequences, more than you may realize, look at a few recent votes and the results of those elections on the economy, standard of living, crime rates and general sense of well being, and it will become obvious. People it would seem are forgetful and easy to fool. We forget about the results of past elections and in our ignorant self interest are easily manipulated into voting against our self interests. That is why human history is circular, we make a mistake and trust in the wrong people, we suffer tremendously for that bad decision, then after a few years, or decades, we make the same mistake again, which leads to terrible suffering, again. Once we come to our senses and get a government that stays withing bounds for awhile, our leaders become more and more corrupt, since there are never consequences for our leaders when they become corrupt, and so by that means we are led to ruin by our leaders. You would think however, since there are books written, history talked about and unlimited access to information today, we would be able to break the cycle, sadly it would seem we are not.

After New York City went through the trials, crime and economic absurdity of the 1970’s the people of New York turned to Giuliani to change course. He cleaned up the streets, lowered crime and got the economy of New York going again. After forgetting why they voted for Giuliani, the people of New York changed course and elected Deblasio, an avowed Marxists, who traveled to Nicaragua to fight on the side of the Marxists. The result, an exploding crime rate, diminished economic expectations, the streets are filthy once again and the government is overstepping it’s bounds, again.

Spain had an economy that was humming along. The government of Aznar had reigned in the Spanish government. Spain was a rising star in the Euro zone, which led to a rising standard of living driven by higher wages. The Madrid train bombings just before the election drove the people to vote in the socialist Zapatero. He immediately set himself to changing Spain’s economy from the path of a functional market system to a command and control economy. He threw Spain headlong into making solar panels and green energy. The economists of the world, being in love with the planned economy, cheered him and his policies as progressive and smart. The results have been a catastrophe for the Spanish people. Spain is now one of the nations that are derisively called PIGS, (Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain). The failed economies of Europe. Zapatero took Spain from being a rising star to a failed economy with all the hardship that goes along with it.

Israel had unilaterally pulled out of Gaza and had forcibly removed the Israeli settlers. The people of Gaza had been given their freedom by the Jews, how did they respond? By voting in Hamas. That election resulted in bloodshed when Hamas murdered their political opposition the PLO. The bloodshed went on for weeks as Hamas slaughtered anyone who opposed them. Once Hamas had secured Gaza they started building rockets to launch against Israel. The result of that policy has been a failed economy, perpetual violence and a standard of living that is on a everlasting escalator down. The people if Gaza are now no more than human shields for their rulers and there has not been an election since.

Venezuela had money rushing in from it’s oil reserves. The standard of living was rising and crime was diminishing. In their hubris and ignorance the people of Venezuela voted in the Marxist Hugo Chavez, you know, to distribute the wealth. Chavez immediately nationalized the oil industry and used the profits to secure political support. As the oil infrastructure corroded, he nationalized more and more to keep the facade looking good, even as the economy crumbled. Any opposition was crushed violently. Hugo died as his socialist utopia was ablaze and was replaced by another socialist. Today, despite their huge oil reserves, Venezuela is in hyper inflation, toilet paper is nearly impossible to find, the government has become totalitarian and the standard of living in Venezuela is among the lowest in the world.

The people of the US were tired of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and so elected the unknown Barack Obama. The reality of who he was/is was available but the media that calls itself unbiased didn’t bother to look. Obama’s Marxist upbringing was ignored and his obvious anti American leanings were glossed over, the reality of Obama was replaced with, “hope and change.” The economy went into recession and instead of lowering regulations and taxes Obama raised them. The result has been a nonexistent recovery. Oh, the stock market has gone up driven by ZIRP, (zero interest rate policy) and unprecedented money printing, including monetizing the debt, but those provisions have not filtered down to the people. QE2 could have made 85 thousand people millionaires per month if the money had been given to the people but instead it was given to the banks. Today in the US the labor participation rate is at an all time low while people on food stamps is at an all time high. The soup lines are hidden by the welfare checks the government is having a harder and harder time delivering. Now the US is on the brink of economic Armageddon and still many remain ignorant of the coming catastrophe.

Each election had consequences, each took a nation that had a bright future and replaced that bright future with one that is bleak. Spain’s economy is not far behind Greece’s, Gaza is a failed state, Venezuela is collapsing and the US is about to experience economic hardships like it has never experienced before, even during the great depression. In each case the people, in our ignorance and hubris, elected people who said the government would make us wealthy, and we went along despite every historical example that proves it impossible, and the results are as predictable as night after day. We have access to information about history, world events and economics that would have been unthinkable even a decade ago, yet we refuse to use it. As people are crying aloud, “How could this have happened?” You will know. We brought it upon ourselves, through our ignorance of history, economics and our hubris.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Evil of Progressivism

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, a cursory glance at the news today shows the results of progressivism, in bright lights. The news is filled with absurdity. From the now nearly complete genocide of Christians in the Middle East, to the collapse of economies around the world, the news is the greatest indictment of progressivism there could be. American pragmatism teaches that you look at the fruit of an idea or policy to see if it is good or not, and progressivism has shown it produces poison fruit and thus is evil. In every way progressive governments choose evil over good. There is not one example where they choose good over evil today, why is that, because progressivism itself is evil. It is not compatible with humanity, human heartedness, liberty, or enlightenment. Progressivism is a return to the dark ages where the government was ruled by absolute monarchs. Progressivism even has the audacity to seek to control the thoughts of people! It seeks absolute power and uses that power to turn society, the culture and people to evil.

This latest spate of police killings is another example of how progressivism is evil. The progressives who run the government today, have ginned up hatred of the police by their rhetoric, their policies and their own hate. They have led society to a place where murdering a police officer is an act of civil disobedience. They have changed the conversation, from why are so many blacks killed by other blacks, to attacking the very people who are trying to prevent the slaughter! Those cities controlled by progressives have violent crime rates that dwarf war zones! Despite having the toughest gun laws, that are unconstitutional in and of themselves, the murder rate in Detroit, Baltimore, Washington DC and anywhere progressives run government, a human being with dark skin is exponentially more likely to be shot to death than die of anything else! Yet the progressives point at the police who are charged with stopping the slaughter of the inner city. Clearly progressives want blacks slaughtered.

Progressives support planned parenthood’s slaughter of innocent babies. They tax us and give that money to an organization that routinely overcharges for simple procedures, so they can pay their CEO and upper management six figures! Now that video has come out showing a planned parenthood doctor cutting through the face of a live baby boy to extract his brain, with no anesthesia, the evil of planned parenthood cannot be denied, yet progressives in both parties still support it! Since progressives cannot claim ignorance anymore, yet still support it, they must also support infanticide and torturing a baby to death. By any measure, that is pure evil, and those that support evil are themselves evil. Since that is what is going on, and they know it,by definition… progressives are evil.

It is undeniable that Christianity has ceased to exist in it’s birthplace. Christians have been rounded up, slaughtered by burning to death, children have been crucified, Christians have been beheaded on video and Christian girls as young as 5 years old have been sold into sex slavery and raped multiple times a day. These crimes against humanity are going on as you read this article! No human being with an atom of empathy could call it anything but evil. Not only evil but open and braggadocio evil! Yet the progressives in both Europe and the US… REFUSE TO ALLOW PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS ASYLUM!!! Progressives demand the Christians who face such horrific crimes, because they are Christians, simply accept their fate! Their actions prove progressives support and condone the genocide of Christians! There can be no other conclusion… genocide is evil, and those that support genocide are evil, therefore it follwos… progressives are evil.

Under the watch of progressives the economy of the world is melting down. They have printed trillions of dollars, Yen, Euros, Renminbi, etc… to hide the results of their policies, despite the overwhelming evidence that doing so always leads to economic catastrophe. There is not one example in economic history where money printing has ended well. This time however, it is not one nation that has printed it’s currency to oblivion, but all countries! Never before in human history have so many countries printed so much money to prop up their economies. The printing has inflated bubbles around the world, it has also warped the flow of capital to unproductive enterprises, due to the pernicious incentives of low cost loans. As we watch the stock markets, bond markets and businesses collapse in slow motion before our eyes, and with them our hard earned savings evaporate… we have the progressives to blame. They run the banking system, our governments and the media that reports on them.

In every way progressives have chosen evil over good, they denied God three times at the democratic convention, then booed him. Therefore they must support Lucifer. The National Socialists got their ideas from American progressives, especially the ideas of racial purity and breeding supermen. Progressives choose death over life every chance they get, the death of babies, the death of Christians, the death of Jews, the death of liberty and the death of capitalism… are all their policies, and the results are plain for anyone to see. Our civilization is in disarray, our society is coming apart at the seams and our economy is melting down and with it our standard of living. Progressives have visited catastrophe on us, it produces poison fruit, but how many are awake enough to recognize it? How many of us will believe the progressive media that it is the fault of people with no power? How many more times will progressives visit evil on us… before we learn? Or are we simply too stupid to learn?

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Right Principles for a Nation

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, while abandoning right principles is the ruination of a great nation, those very same principles provide a handy road map to prosperity, low crime rates, and a rising standard of living, for nations wishing to become so. Moreover, any nation adopting those universal right principles will have a positive effect on human history going forward. Everyone knows this truth in their hearts but the lure of power corrupts the elite and keeps them from it, while the lure of free money, keeps the people corrupt and prevents them from demanding it. So, instead of universal profit for everyone, people allow their greed, envy and lust bar them from it. Should a nation, even if old and set in it’s ways were to adopt these principles, it would see a turnaround in it’s fortune that would astound the world.

Wealth can be had for all, not by redistributing a dwindling amount, that is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but by creating access wealth. Society has the ability to create huge accesses of wealth easily. To create such prosperity however, does not require a government program, nor a large bureaucracy, but by empowering people to achieve their goals. Government’s role in creating societal wealth is to provide standards, not regulations. Any country could do it, few actually want to, and even fewer will. Here is a list and explanation of the right principles leading to a prosperous, free and vigorous nation.

Protecting the individual from the collective is of the utmost importance. Whenever the collective decides what is good for the individual, both the collective and the individual suffer. The individual because the collective never has morals or compassion, it is pure force. Moreover, the incentives in a system where the collective good supersedes the individual’s good, become pernicious. That is because instead of being motivated by self interest everyone is motivated by self preservation. The collective always has a ready reason to kill an individual for the collective good. Where the collective is king those who create wealth are stepped on, their inventions taken and they are personally attacked, because anytime someone rises above the rest in a collective, they become a threat. That way a society that values the collective over the individual must stagnate.

The free market system is the path to societal prosperity. Not welfare state capitalism, which is no more than a more palatable name for socialism, actual free market capitalism. Of course a free market is predicated on individual liberty and cannot function in a collective. A real free market however is the surest path to national prosperity there is, history shows this to be empirically true, while crony capitalism and socialism are the surest path to poverty and famine. During the era of actual free markets the economies of Europe and the US grew exponentially, not at the pathetic 2% we have come to expect since capitalism became crony and the rise of the welfare state. During the only time in the 20th century the US engaged in a real free market, under Calvin Coolidge, the economy soared to new heights of growth and prosperity, which led to a rocketing rise in the standard of living, low crime, less racism and huge access of national wealth. Until Herbert Hoover and FDR took the US down the path to cronyism and the welfare state.

In a real free market, one with standards, it is easy to get rich but hard to create monopoly. Building a monopoly requires at least some government intervention, to suppress competition by creating a barrier to entry, stifling innovation by regulations, having obscure tax codes or outright cronyism. Occasionally a monopoly can grow organically, where an innovation is too expensive or complex to implement, by the time the patent runs out, it is very hard to compete with it. If however, lacking government barriers to entry, the profit gets too high, other companies will compete for that high profit.

Limited government that creates standards not regulations is another principle that leads to prosperity for a nation. Imagine if a gallon was a regulation and not a standard? The volume of a gallon would depend on who was selling it, what liquid it contained, the shape of the container would be prescribed and the political favor of both the buyer and seller would be paramount. The regulations regarding the volume of a gallon would quickly run into perhaps hundreds of pages. In this way regulations create the conditions where monopoly can form, politically favored individuals can become extremely wealthy without providing any value and sand is thrown into the mechanism of the free market. Standards however facilitates the free market like oil an engine. Standards cannot be used by corrupt politicians to pass out money to their cronies, hinder the competition of unfavored businesses or enrich themselves at the cost to everyone else. Standards are a principle that leads to a prosperous nation while regulations lead to poverty and cronyism.

These fundamental, universal, right principles, wherever and whenever they are adopted, will inevitably lead to prosperity, a rising standard of living, less racism and low crime. All the goods people say they want. The elite will always argue against them however, because then the elite would have to provide value for their wealth, like you and I have to, and that is unacceptable to them. That is why the elite are in love with collectivism, cronyism and regulations. They intentionally confuse regulations with standards, they wrongly claim the collective is more important than the individual and they spuriously argue there needs to be monopoly to produce high value products, all to move us away from right principles and towards wrong principles. Those very few nations that do adopt right principles will be the movers of history in a positive way.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Founding Principles

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, when a nation abandons it’s founding principles, that nation at that moment begins a descent into oblivion. Great nations are always founded on universal principles. Principles that protect the liberty of citizens, their property, hold everyone accountable to the law and defend the state from invading armies. There are also various societal myths that form the basis of the cultural ethos. In the US for example, the sovereignty of the individual is the societal myth. These principles and myths work together to create a strong and lasting government, culture and society, as well as protect the people from invading armies. Nations thus founded have good economies, strong families and high standards of living. It is no shock then, that once a nation abandons it’s founding principles, it quickly begins to deteriorate. Since the principles and societal myths a nation was founded on are the reason that nation prospered, the abandoning of them begins a downward slide.

The reason a nation would abandon their founding principles and societal myths is universally the same. The elite begin to feel hemmed in by the founding principles so they grouse against them. The elite want more room for action and a greater part of the prosperity, to do that they now they must get the nation uncoupled from it’s founding principles. They tell the people the heightened prosperity is owed them. They lead the people away from the founding principles and into arrogance. Playing on the people’s egos the elite keep in front of the people a meme of outdated ideas, old ways, stodgy thinking and that was then this is now. The replace the founding principles with progress, the new and fill the minds of the people with distractions.

In this way a general sense of arrogance begins to creep into the minds of the people and is magnified in the elite. Some generation, far enough away from the founding that they have forgot the violence and struggle it took to birth the nation or what times were like before the founding, disdainful of their forefathers and their egos swelled up like a balloon ready to pop, they begin to believe they know better than their forefathers and turn to their own ideas, ideas that always involve taking the liberty of people they disagree with, stealing the property of those who are “rich,” and stop applying the law equally because some can’t be held to a standard.

No great calamity happens in a vacuum. In every case calamity stems from a build up of events, most seem small and insignificant at the time, moreover they pile up and pile up without any negative consequences so they come faster and get bigger. Events such as small intrusions on the founding principles. Any well founded nation can stand many such incursions, by the momentum it builds up in it’s expansion. Rome was just such an example. Even as Titus Livious warned the Romans Rome would fall unless they went back to their principles, the people laughed and scoffed at him, Rome has lasted a thousand years and would go on forever. Displaying the arrogance and disregard of their founders that always characterizes a people before their fall. Rome did go on for a few more centuries, centuries of calamity after calamity, culminating in Attila’s surrounding Rome. Rome lasted those centuries because on the momentum it had built up in it’s republican days.

No nation that still lives under it’s founding principles is defeated in war, only those nations that have abandoned those principles, are defeated in war. Wars come and go, but they are only existential threats to those nations who’s people have become lovers of luxury, arrogant, egoistic and lazy. Such nations are ripe for a fall and every would be tyrant alive sees it. Weakness in a people invites disaster. Such people are fickle in war as in every other thing, when push comes to shove an army of such people is no more than a paper tiger, it is destroyed at the first hint of flame. The government that has led the people into being fickle, egoistic and arrogant, while it might be unmerciful to it’s own people, is terrified of other nations and displays it fear to the world further inviting calamity. In this we can say that it was the abandoning of the founding principles that made the people ripe for invasion. The leaders first the people after.

Europe and the US have abandoned their founding principles. One by one they have been abandoned and replaced by progressive doctrines that teach the exact opposite of the founding principles. The societal myth has withered in both Europe and the US. Europe is being invaded by people who will, in short order subjugate the native Europeans, when that happens, the Europeans will exclaim, “What a catastrophe! How could this have happened?” The US will soon face economic Armageddon from out of control taxation, spending, regulation and cronyism, when that happens, the American people will cry out, “This is a calamity! Why me, why now?” even as the Europeans and Americans lament their misfortune, they will know in their hearts, they are the reason for the calamity, but will not be able to face the truth… so will blame the Muslims, the Bankers, the politicians… anyone but themselves, for allowing themselves to be led away from their founding principles.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Nuclear World War

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the instability on the planet today is… the new world order. The new world order is disorder, violence, wars of aggression and human suffering on a scale heretofore unimaginable. You think the suffering WWII visited upon the world was bad, we are about to enter a warring states period that make WWII look like the War for the Chaco. It is not going to merely bankrupt you, nor simply destroy your standard of living, this coming world war will have you watch as your children are butchered, starve or die slowly of radiation poisoning. Everything you have, want or imagine will be taken from you, because of this instability.

Nuclear weapons are proliferating around the world. When the US and Europe took down Muammar Gaddafi, the only autocrat to give up WMD… they essentially told the world’s tyrants, get nuclear weapons! Now we see the despots of the world got the memo. Since then more and more countries are developing nuclear weapons as fast as possible. North Korea abandoned it’s treaty with the US limiting it’s ability to get, amass and deliver nuclear weapons, Iran has signed a treaty with the US that allows Iran to inspect itself, and the cold war between Pakistan and India is heating up, and soon may go nuclear. Proliferation of nuclear weapons in the hands of despots and psychopaths cannot be a good idea.

Every continent on the planet except Antarctica and Australia is at war or in economic collapse. Wars rage around the globe, and the fire is growing. Asia has several wars in progress, ISIS is religiously cleansing the Middle Eats of Christians and Yazidis. Europe sees Ukraine and Russia in open conflict, Africa is awash in bloodshed, South America’s economy is melting down and still has active Marxist insurgencies going on, and in North America, the US has open fighting on the streets between Black lives matter and the police. Instead of cooling down, these conflicts are getting worse, while the world’s economy is in full recession.

There is a full blown currency war raging today, economies are collapsing and a global recession is on it’s way, nothing is more conducive to war than economic collapse. Europe’s economy is in full rout with Greece needing a new loan every time a loan payment comes due, Spain and Italy are ready to go bankrupt even as Europe is being deluged with Islamic immigrants who are intent on subjugating the native Europeans. Brazil’s economy is ablaze, Venezuela is in hyper inflation and just announced martial law. China’s planned economy is not going as planned, it’s manufacturing numbers just came in at the crucial 3500 level, the Renminbi is being devalued and the Chinese stock market is in free fall again, despite the government making it illegal to sell stocks! Every world war has been presaged by economic upheaval.

China is gearing up to expand it’s empire. The definition of empire is a large area controlled by a hegemonic group, usually based on ethnicity, reigning over many other ethnic groups. China is run by communists and the hegemonic ethnicity are Han Chinese. They reign over Tibetans, Mongols and Uyghurs. Today China is building islands in the South China sea to expand it’s military might, threatening the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan, on land China claims the northern states of India and Vietnam. They plan on expanding, which is what empires do, especially Marxist empires.

The Middle East is on fire since Obama threw in with the Arab Spring. Christians and Yazidis have been all but exterminated from that part of the world, people are fleeing the wars into Europe where they bring with them chaos, terrorism and bigotry. Iran’s nuclear program is being funded by Obama and European leaders and given the green light as well, despite the constant chant of “Death to America! Death to Israel!” We hear from the leaders there. Antisemitism is on the rise again around the world another event that has presaged every major world conflict.

Humanity has a very real possibility of facing extinction because of this coming convulsion. With nuclear weapons being distributed to every insane despot on the planet, instead of being inconceivable, nuclear exchange is rapidly becoming inevitable. Even a limited exchange between Pakistan and India would create a nuclear winter. A Nuclear winter that would destroy crops needed for billions of people to survive. At least global warming would be over… because we would be entering into another ice age. An electro magnetic pulse attack (EMP) on the US, China, Japan, Russia and Europe would return humanity to the dark ages, famine, disease and chaos.

Meanwhile, our leaders claim a fiction is our greatest threat, ignoring the train bearing down on us for the ant crawling over our shoe, maybe so we will be hit by the train? They seem determined to keep us distracted as the world melts down. Our leaders are the ones who’s policies are directly responsible for our dire situation. They overthrew Gaddafi and instituted the new incentive for despots to nuclear up, they have taxed, regulated and spent our economies into oblivion, they are the ones wholly responsible for the next war, yet they point to an imaginary threat as that which we should focus on. This entire coming catastrophe is the direct result of our leaders failing us.

I am not saying the world war will start Thursday at 3:00 pm… but I am saying it is coming, if it’s not already here. Future historians, (if there are any) will have to make that call. The vacuum Obama made when he pulled the US out of the world, has empowered despots around the planet to step in and grab what they can. Economic collapse always ushers in war, the ink of human history is blood, and the world’s economy is at the precipice of an epic fall. Our leaders have made it possible for the world’s autocrats to get nuclear weapons making the next conflict likely a nuclear one. In every way our leaders have failed us, leading us, predictably, to this place. If there is future history, they, Obama, Putin, Merkel, Khomeini, Assad, Chavez, etc… will go down along with Tamerlane, Kaiser Wilhelm, Stalin, Hitler and Mao as fiends who broke the world. Prepare yourself and your families for it. The well prepared have a much better chance of surviving over the ill prepared.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
