An Impassioned Defense Of Waste, Fraud And Abuse

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the talk about town is how DOGE cutting waste, fraud and abuse, is going to send the economy careening into a recession. Which is premised on the notion, the roof must continue supporting the foundation, because it’s so far above the ground. In other words, our economy is airborne. Lofted by government waste, fraud and abuse. If not for the cronies getting rich from money borrowed in the taxpayer’s name, the taxpayer would quickly go broke. It’s that simple. Without the regulatory abuse, causing friction to the operation of our economy… the economy would grind to a halt. All those billions in waste don’t disappear, they go into the pockets of real people… in other nations. The unbiased media elite are claiming, the economy is based on waste, fraud and abuse.

The payola press claims tariffs will cause inflation. Showing either a complete lack of economic understanding else they’re propagandists. Since a tariff only causes a temporary localized price increase, whereas inflation is systematic. Milton Friedman established, “Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon.” As when the Biden administration added billions to the money supply. Even as democrat governors cut supply, the feds ginned demand. Creating the perfect monetary storm for inflation. Causing prices of everything to double or triple… which the unbiased media claimed was twenty percent. Proving they hadn’t graduated sixth grade. Yet today, as government spending and monetary growth are being cut, the payola press worries about possible inflation?

DOGE is finding waste, fraud and abuse in government spending. The unbiased media and expert pundits are now saying that this will indubitably cause a recession. Because there’s so little authentic organic economic activity. Apparently, most of America’s business is gaming the government. Take that away and there’s little or nothing left. The economy will deflate and fall like a gondola without a balloon. To be dashed to bits on landing. It’s inescapable, so the government should double down on waste, fraud and abuse. Never mind history. Weimar, the USSR, Argentina, Revolutionary France, Mao, etc… were in the past. In the future, what didn’t work in the past will have to work, because its the future. Or so the logic song of the payola press goes. Like calliope music.

Without the regulatory friction to the economy how will the economy keep plugging along? That friction is needed for an economy to function. Because everyone knows capitalism must be regulated to work properly! It’s a Bacon’s Idol of the marketplace. Plus, the corporations that benefit from reduced competition, due to regulatory friction, will have to spend even more on lobbying. Cutting into the shareholder’s dividends, but not the executive’s bonus. Therefore, cutting bureaucrats will result in less friction to small business, and create hardships for corporations. Meaning they’ll have to compete with hungry competitors. Lowering prices and Blackrock’s profits. It took the department of education fifty years to get US kids this ignorant. If it’s eliminated, they could rebound to the top again. Egads!

Fear is the selling point of the media that calls itself unbiased. It worked in the Covid con so why wouldn’t it work now? They are selling us fear of inflation, of lowering prices, of recession and too many jobs, everywhere you look there’s something to fear in Trump’s cutting waste, fraud and abuse. The simple request that bureaucrats account for the money they spend is outrageous. Unlike the demand that we self report our private economic activity to them, in direct violation of the plain wording of the Fourth Amendment. Because, if not for their crimes, we would suffer economic hardship. It’s their criminal activity in defrauding us, wasting our money and abusing us and our trust, that keeps this nation afloat. Stop it, and we plummet into the rocks below.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
