ROOF

Speculative extensions

Version 11.5  |  May 11, 2026  |  Probably 70–90% wrong

"The roof is where ideas go to be tested or abandoned. Most will be abandoned."

⚠️ Ongoing research project — SPECULATIVE CONTENT. Everything on this page and its sub-pages is speculation. Do NOT cite any claim here as a TSO prediction without checking the house page for current test status and the predictions page for live commitments. The honest estimate is that 70–90% of the content here is wrong and will be retired.

READ THIS FIRST

The foundation is the part of TSO that stands or falls on the Rydberg sigmoid experiment and the IBM gate-depth sweep. The house is where the tests, null results, and retirements live. This page — the roof — is where the framework is extended into areas it was not originally designed for. Each extension can fail without taking the rest of the framework with it.

Some of the content here has already been retired in place and some has been downgraded. In particular, the roof-particles sub-page describes the topology enumeration as a Z=7-specific derivation of the Standard Model charge spectrum. That claim was downgraded on April 5, 2026 by a null test showing the charge match is generic across Z ∈ {5..10} once nspatial = 3 is fixed (see house page). The detailed class structure (generations, color multiplicity, total count) has not yet been tested and may still be Z=7-specific. Read roof-particles with that in mind until it is rewritten.

v11.3 note (April 10, 2026): The Z null test further narrowed spatial-cluster combinatorics as not Z=7-specific. The bidirectional X1 bond proposal, 1/3 rescaling, and Lindblad algebraic charge conservation are on foundation and house. The three-regime phase structure is on foundation.

v11.4 note (May 11, 2026): A 10-notebook session triggered by LinkedIn engagement with Joshua Osborne (RF engineer, G2/octonion expertise) took TSO from discrete percolation into continuous G2 geometry. Results placed here (roof level, exploratory): spontaneous G2 symmetry breaking at p_c — colour SU(3) only (the full-SM reading, G2→SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1), was retracted July 13, 2026 on a rank obstruction: G2 is rank 2, the Standard Model group rank 4; see foundation and house) (x-vertex is the symmetry breaking direction, two broken Fano lines = GUT and cosmological constant), proposed TCS G2 manifold identification (b2=1, b3=8), p1=30 with Witten shift=7.5, and tadpole N=15 determined entirely by p_c. The SM gauge group emerges from the 5 surviving Fano lines below p_c. Status: all proposed. The exact G2 manifold, Ray-Singer torsion computation, and coupling constant derivation remain open. The spontaneous G2→SM breaking result has been added to foundation at proposed status as the most structurally significant finding.

v11.4 note (May 11, 2026): The partial-projection picture of Heisenberg Uncertainty has been placed on foundation rather than here — it is a re-derivation of standard QM structure, not speculation. The Space Roar mechanism (Larmor radiation from W-space bobbing) and the unification of Casimir / Lamb / g-2 / zero-point energy are on foundation at SUGGESTIVE status. The metamaterial prediction (Prediction 27) and the THz noise / scattering anisotropy predictions (31, 32) remain here. Virtual particles as incomplete spanning clusters is now Foundation-level.

The strongest speculative results (with current caveats):

• The particle topology enumeration — produces the SM fermion charge spectrum, three generations, and color-charge structure. After April 5, 2026 the charge-spectrum match is known to be generic across Z values rather than Z=7-specific; the detailed class structure has not yet been tested across Z values.

• The baryon asymmetry calculation — reproduces the observed η within 19% using 150-year-old metallurgical mathematics applied to lattice constants. Retrodictive (computed after η was known), but no parameter was adjusted to fit. Not affected by the April 5 topology null test.

• The percolation-critical metamaterial (Prediction 27, v11.4) — a material engineered to Zeff ≈ 7 connectivity and W ≈ pc should show anomalous inertia (minertial/mgravitational ≠ 1), anomalous EM transparency, and criticality amplification. The inertial mass ratio test is the most TSO-specific result, not predicted by standard condensed matter theory.

• The Space Roar spatial correlation (Prediction 28, v11.4) — if the Space Roar is Larmor radiation from W-space bobbing, its intensity should correlate with the cosmic web filament density. Testable with a future full-sky radio background survey cross-correlated against Euclid/DESI structure maps.

INDEX OF SUB-PAGES

roof-g2 — G2 / Octonion / Manifold / Projective Hierarchy (May 2026)

Exploratory G2 geometry and projective hierarchy. Spontaneous G2 symmetry breaking at pc — colour SU(3) only (proposed; the full-SM reading was retracted July 13, 2026 on a rank obstruction — G2 rank 2 vs Standard-Model rank 4 — see foundation/house). v11.5 May 17 additions: PG(3,2) confirms strangeness = 4th coordinate = temporal asymmetry. Bounded tower PG(1,2)→PG(7,2): proton (0.2%), kaon (1.6%), pion (5.7%), E_Pip (0.4%) confirmed. Self-referential closure: 255/256 Pips = E_Pip. Joshua Osborne: 7 levels exhaust 7 imaginary octonionic dimensions → forced snap to real unit e₀ = E_Pip. Ambient ceiling of E₇ (133 generators, 56-dim minimal rep = D meson) is the next open question. Acknowledgment: mathematical direction from Joshua Osborne; implementation and errors by John Pepin.

roof-particles — Topology enumeration and the SM charge spectrum

Full enumeration of path-operational equivalence classes on the Z = 7 lattice. Sector A (5 operational, charged leptons + down-type quarks), Sector B (4 operational, neutrinos + up-type quarks), Sector C (0 operational, massless gauge bosons). April 5, 2026 caveat: the charge-spectrum match is generic, not Z=7-specific (see house page). The detailed class structure (generations, color, total count) has not yet been tested the same way and may still be Z=7-specific. This page needs a rewrite to reflect the downgrade. Enumeration notebook · Null test notebook.

roof-antimatter — Mirror topology and baryon asymmetry

Matter and antimatter as mirror-chirality spanning clusters. Annihilation as path-by-path cancellation. Pair creation as chirality conservation. Rest mass as γo,stored — topology formation cost latched into a stable configuration, not a continuous "maintenance cost" (that phrasing was retired in v11.1). Baryon asymmetry η = 7.26 × 10−10 from Walton-Chalmers / Avrami mathematics, 19% off observed. Retrodictive. Baryon notebook · Annihilation notebook.

roof-three-phase — Wave, solid, dust, and black hole sublimation

The phase diagram of the universe. Wave (quantum) above pc, solid (classical) between 2/7 and pc, dust (black hole interior) below 2/7. Black hole sublimation as slow return to solid under Hawking radiation.

roof-dimensions — Effective dimensionality and the holographic floor

deff = 7W as running dimensionality. At the observation window, deff ≈ 2.18. Holographic principle as a consequence of deff → 2 at the dust floor.

roof-path-rotation — SO(5), Born rule, and the double slit

Superposition as a rotatable path occupying a spatial slot through SO(5) rotation. Measurement as a closing event forcing the window back to {x, y, z}. Born probabilities inherited from Gleason's theorem, with a geometric collapse mechanism.

roof-232 — 2-3-2 causal structure

Observation window holds 3 of 5 rotatable paths. Two gravity-only paths sit outside. Causal connections propagate through the slot; non-local correlations ride on the remaining rotatable paths.

roof-biology — Life at the percolation threshold

Beyond the minimal genome result (which is on foundation). Speculative extensions: cancer as topology escape, morphogenesis as percolation-guided pattern formation. Most of this is probably wrong. Connection to Michael Levin's bioelectric work is the most grounded extension.

roof-chirality — CMB birefringence

Cosmic chirality bias leaves a polarization rotation in the CMB. Planck + WMAP at 0.35° and ACT DR6 at 0.264° (4.6–5σ) are consistent with TSO but not definitive tests.

roof-gravity — Gravity as Γ, black hole interior, GW echoes

Gravity as coupling to T and ∅. Black hole interior as the dust phase. GW echoes as possible signatures of the phase boundary. The Gran Sasso ruling-out of Diósi-Penrose is TSO-consistent because gravity alone is not enough for collapse.

roof-open — 38+ open problems

Honest list of things TSO does not yet explain. Mass hierarchy, W/Z/Higgs placement, the formal uniqueness proof for Z = 7, αEM residual, the extra Sector B class, Pip universality across platforms (new — the central question for the Pip framework), and many others.

Metamaterial prediction (v11.4 — Prediction 27)

A material engineered to Zeff ≈ 7 connectivity and W ≈ pc should sit permanently at the quantum-classical phase boundary. Predicted anomalies: reduced effective inertia (minertial/mgravitational ≠ 1 — the most TSO-specific, not predicted by standard condensed matter theory), anomalous EM transparency, and criticality amplification near the critical point. Candidate materials: heavy-fermion compounds, quantum spin liquids, topological semimetals near Lifshitz transitions. Test: precision torsion balance or pendulum measuring inertial vs gravitational mass through the quantum critical point. Prediction 27 →

Space Roar spatial correlation (v11.4 — Prediction 28)

If the ARCADE 2 Space Roar is Larmor radiation from W-space bobbing of semi-crystallised electrons, its intensity should not be perfectly isotropic — it should be stronger along cosmic web filaments and at cluster boundaries (higher Γ = Σγc, more frustrated crystallisation) and weaker in deep void centres (low Γ, material drifts toward wave-state). The mechanism and Larmor estimate are on foundation; the spatial correlation test is speculative pending a future full-sky radio instrument. Falsified if the radio background is isotropic at all angular scales with no cosmic-web correlation. Prediction 28 →

THz noise feature and scattering anisotropy (v11.4 — Predictions 31, 32)

Prediction 31: THz spectral feature in Johnson-Nyquist noise of quantum-critical materials at fbob = kTc/(2πℏ) ≈ 6.3 THz at room temperature, ~21 GHz for millikelvin QCPs. Standard Johnson-Nyquist noise is white — a spectral feature would be a TSO-specific signature. Prediction 32: scattering anisotropy near the decoherence threshold from 2D projection geometry. Both are speculative — no quantitative magnitude estimate for the anisotropy has been derived yet. Prediction 31 → · Prediction 32 →

WHY SEPARATE THE ROOF FROM THE FOUNDATION?

Scientific frameworks are often presented as monolithic packages. This makes criticism harder than it needs to be. TSO is deliberately structured as tiers:

Foundation (foundation.html) contains the core. If it falls, the framework falls. The Rydberg and IBM experiments test this part.

House (house.html) contains what has been tested, including null tests and retirements.

Roof (this page) contains the extensions. Each can fail without taking the rest with it.

The predictions page cuts across all three and lists 39 live predictions with status tags.

WHAT THE ROOF DOES NOT CONTAIN

To keep the scope honest:

• No claims about consciousness, soul, or afterlife. TSO is a physics framework.

• No claims about free will. The asymmetry produces an arrow of time, not agents.

• No claims about cosmic fine-tuning or anthropic arguments.

• No claims about simulation theory, digital physics, or computational universes.

• No claims about GUT-style unification.

If a reader has heard that TSO makes one of these claims, the source was not this site.

HOW TO ENGAGE THE ROOF

Physicists: start with roof-particles. The subtle error (if any) is most likely in the symmetry reduction or in the class-structure claims that have not yet been null-tested. Catching such an error would be valuable.

Quantum-computing people: the IBM gate-depth experiment (prediction 19 on the predictions page) was once positioned as the single most concrete near-term test. The May 24, 2026 v11.7 empirical scope finding has changed that framing. Across four pre-registered hardware tests (Fix 4, P40, P41, P42-queued), TSO's structural sign patterns replicated and its specific magnitudes did not. The reading: IBM hardware is engineered to sit above pc by construction (a qubit that decoheres is a broken qubit), so the platform cannot test the magnitude side of the decisive sigmoid prediction regardless of experimental design. A second concern — articulated in the path-blank concern section of math.html — is that all four tests treated qubits as identical, which does not test TSO's path-identity claim either. Productive directions for quantum-computing collaborators now: (a) help design path-role-differentiated tests on existing hardware (P43-style 3-qubit groups with internal structure matched to the path each represents), accepting that these are structural rather than quantitative; (b) propose tests on platforms whose physical regime is tunable across pc — Rydberg neutral-atom arrays are the leading candidate, followed by trapped-ion chains and possibly NV centers in specific configurations. The original "run prediction 19 and the framework moves forward regardless" message has been replaced by something more cautious: run a role-differentiated structural test and the framework's path-identity claim moves forward or backward, but the decisive magnitude prediction still requires Rydberg lab access.

Cosmologists: the baryon asymmetry calculation is the cleanest target. If metallurgical mathematics has been misapplied, it should be catchable by someone familiar with crystal growth kinetics. The CMB birefringence argument is independent and can be checked against Planck and ACT DR6 data.

Biologists: roof-biology and the syn3.0 annotation audit. The connectivity/maintenance claim depends on continuously-updating gene annotations and independent verification is welcome.

Everyone else: roof-open is probably the most informative page — it is the honest list of things that do not work yet.
