The Unethical Faction

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, a faction that wants to get rid of all limits to power, like a constitution, can exploit that constitution to be a tool of its own destruction. This is because would be despots won’t limit themselves at all by it but will use the reverence others have for it to limit them. Such actions give a huge advantage to those without ethics and hampers those with ethics. Even as those ethical fighters will always be off balance because for some reason constitutional limits always apply to them in the extreme while not applying at all to the opposition. When the courts themselves are in on the scam, the ethical become dazed. Because we all judge others by ourselves, and the ethical then can’t understand how a court could be so corrupt. They would never do such a thing!

The simple act of seeking unlimited power is proof of a lack of ethics. Because only the ethical limit themselves. Morality, constitutions, and law are only limits to those with the ethics to self limit. Criminals don’t self limit and so law limits them. The elite however are above the law. Only other elites can hold them to it and only once they are out of power. Other than Timoleon, and Lucius Brutus, what political figure has shown any ability to punish their own loved ones? Few if any… because it’s not natural. We are self interested and only the most ethical have such abilities. Moreover, only those people like Brutus should have unlimited power. They refuse because of their ethics… Therefore someone who seeks unlimited power over another must be immoral, without ethics or humanity.

Clausewitz said that since war is the use of violence to a political end, the more violent the faction the greater the advantage… using the same logic, a political faction that doesn’t limit itself by morals, ethics, or humanity has a strong advantage. They can lie, cheat, and steal without a whit of conscience. The same people will speak out of the other side of their mouths when their foes are accused. In politics, reality is irrelevant, appearance is all that counts. So the faction that lies, cheats, and steals can win indefinitely… unless, as Clausewitz went on to say, they are held in check by the public’s conscience. That’s why a conniver without conscience, ethics, or humanity will use censorship… to hide the reality and maintain appearances.

A captured media then is of the utmost importance to a faction seeking unlimited power… and so is without ethics. That press will gaslight us with a univoice. They know they work to create Hell on Earth but the paycheck soothes their conscience. It’s a fact of human nature that we choose and judge by immediate needs instead of long term requirements. If the room is on fire we jump out the window, then try to outsmart gravity on the way down. As a result, many in the media are willing pawns of an unethical faction. Their role is to maintain the appearance of prosperity, civility, and ethics in the face of obvious evidence to the contrary. The unethical faction thought that if they gave the press a big enough bull horn and shut down criticism by calling it disinformation they would get unlimited power.

In Federalist Papers #49, responding to Jefferson, Madison said if a faction gets control of two of the three Branches it can become tyrannical. Under Biden the progressive faction had control of the media, the bureaucracy, the Executive, Congress, and the courts, and had zero ethics… yet lost. Why? Because no amount of narrative control can maintain a lie in the face of obvious truth. Lincoln said, “You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you can’t fool all the people all of the time.” That’s a lesson lost on the unethical faction. Their lack of ethics gives them an advantage in the short run but in the long run it’s a losing game. Because the game is played over and over. This means an unethical faction will win… until they’re exposed and lose it all.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
