It seems to me, without the consent of the governed, government is not legitimate. In fact, when the governed do not, or cannot give their consent, that government operates as a tyranny. Since tyranny, whether by dictator, oligarchy or democracy is evil, all forms of tyranny are to be condemned. Condemning an evil is itself a good, while approving of an evil, is itself evil. Therefore, those who undermine the consent of the people, approving of an evil, are themselves evil. Clearly, those who are evil must never be allowed to have power over the people, because to allow such scheming and evil men and women to have power, will certainly visit evil on the people. Since the consent of the people is given through the electoral process, any form of vote fraud or manipulation spoils good government, pollutes the economy and is repulsive to societal cohesion. Vote fraud then is sewage mixed into the political system.
The US Constitution forms a republic. In Nicomachean ethics, Aristotle characterized government as right or wrong forms. The right forms are monarchy, aristocracy and polity, while the wrong forms are tyranny, oligarchy and democracy. (Democracy being the tyranny of the majority over the minority; polity being the universal consent of the people). His ideal form is republican government a blending of the right forms. The wrong forms have in common is that they all seek the best interests of a faction over the good of the whole and the right forms have in common they seek the best interests of the whole rather then a faction. The advantage of a republic is that it suppresses the ability of a faction to serve it’s own interests at cost to the rest. In a republic, there is a monarch, aristocracy and polity. If any of those right forms are undermined, then the utility of a republic is removed and a faction can then serve it’s own narrow self interest at cost to society as a whole.
The historically recognized means in which the people give their consent is by the popular vote. The popular vote then is the polity part of the republican government. Vote fraud, in any of it’s malignant forms, destroys the ability of the people to give their consent. Even in cases where voter fraud doesn’t change the outcome of an election, the consent of the people is not given, because it is impossible to know for certain if the outcome wasn’t perverted by the fraud. Moreover, as a single drop of effluent spoils a whole barrel of water, so does a single drop of fraud spoil the barrel of votes. Vote fraud is even more pernicious than merely spoiling the vote… it gives tyranny the glint of legitimacy.
Like the old adage about the Catholic church, that alter boys are molested by priests turned out to be true, and the catholic church is paying a heavy price for their intransigence, the democratic party is known to engage in widespread vote fraud. It is a thing everyone knows about, laughs about and talks about, but nothing is done to prevent it. Every attempt to stop vote fraud is stymied by the democrat party. Even when evidence becomes widely known nothing is done. As in the case of a New York election official admitting on hidden camera that voters are bused from precinct to precinct, he is fired, but there is no inquiry into the crime. Crime unpunished is crime abetted. In the case of the Catholic church, the crime destroyed the lives of a limited number of boys, but in the case of the democrat party, the crime destroys the liberty, prosperity and violates the trust of everyone.
In this election season our noses are rubbed in the feces of obvious, open and unrepentant vote fraud. The news is full of clear evidence, videos of election officials admitting to it, millions of dead people who have voted for years after their death, a mail in process that is rife with corruption, voting machines unsecured from tampering and political violence to malign a candidate, yet the elite, who benefit from the fraud, refuse to do anything about it. Judges overturn common sense measures to clean up the rolls, the media hides the evidence, politicians vilify anyone who points it out and journalists tell us not to believe our lying eyes, and instead believe the faction that benefits from the vote fraud. All of which makes the consent of the governed impossible to be given. Sadly, everyone knows which faction and party is guilty, so much so it has become a standing joke!
Unless we consent… to living under a tyranny and condemning our children to the slavery of tyranny, we must stand up and demand an end to vote fraud. Vote fraud gives tyranny the appearance of legitimacy, thwarts the consent of the governed, perverts the republic, and empowers a faction. All of which are forms of evil and evil only needs good men to look away to grow. No one would drink from a barrel they knew was contaminated with even a single drop of effluent, but most seem happy to drink deeply from an election system steeped in corruption, the resulting political cholera will never get better… until the system is purged of contamination.
