Manufacturing Consensus

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the term consensus, is a euphemism for manufactured consent. When an elite says they are seeking consensus, what he or she is really saying is that they are using propaganda, threats, and Hegelian dialectic to get us to go along. When they say “It’s really hard to get consensus…” they’re telling us that they’re frustrated, that we have been successfully fighting back against the tyranny they seek to impose. I hear this phrasing a lot around the Climate Change con. But I have to hand it to the elite, they are pernicious, they don’t give up on a con until there’s no hope. True leaders lead by example not by manufacturing consensus. So when you hear an elite say they are trying to seek consensus to do this or that, know that a swindle is underway… and that you are the mark.

A swindle is any interaction designed by one party to take without reciprocation from another party. The victim is called the mark or the patsy. The most famous is a pig in a poke. That’s when someone sells another a cat in a bag (a poke) instead of a pig. If a third party exposes the con, they have “let the cat out of the bag.” The reason the language is so archaic is because scams are archaic. Shortly after Plato died there was a man named Timoleon. Timoleon’s brother conned the people of Corinth into crowning him a tyrant. Timoleon, who couldn’t abide tyranny, turned on him, earning a reputation for adamantine honesty and a general loathing for his filial betrayal. Timoleon’s story illustrates there are consequences to exposing a con. The same holds true today of those who expose the climate con.

Anthropogenic (human caused) climate change is an ideal scam. Climate is changing all the time. Moreover, we are still emerging from an ice age… so it’s a good bet the climate will be warming. A natural consequence of emerging from an ice age. So claiming the natural warming is the result of our being terrible people, and the only solution is our reduction to cogs in a vast global machine. With a central authority to make all decisions by experts. People well trained in their field of expertise and whose dictates cannot be questioned. The climate con is designed to elevate appeal to authority to a law. To successfully entrap us patsies in the swindle, the game has to get consensus. Poor starving polar bears didn’t work, a multitude of failed predictions eroded consent, and naked wrath has opened eyes.

The climate con is only one of dozens of games the elite are running on us. The Russia Collusion hoax is another. Today only the most closed minded believe Russia colluded with Trump to win the 2016 election. Back then the elites who sent innocent people to prison in furtherance of that con knew exactly what they were doing. They were running a scam on us marks. Just like the January 6th game and the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping con. These are but a few of the mostly successful swindles the elite have played on us. Covid, the clot shot “vaccine,” etc… the scams have been fast and furious. In each con the elite have to gain consensus. Or in other words, they need our confidence… to get our permission to tyrannize us. Just like any other swindler needs the trust of the mark.

The trouble is we are starting to see the elite as the con men they are. For any swindle to work the patsy has to trust the con or else the game falls apart. A well thought out game, like the climate con, can withstand a few rude people letting the cat out of the bag. They can be managed with ostracism. A steady failure of predictions over decades has a corrosive effect on consensus though. Plus getting caught in a dozen other bunko schemes sully one’s reputation, making it hard to build consensus. So when you hear some elite is building consensus to act… know that you’re a mark and they are a swindler. Leaders lead by example. Leaders live the life they advocate. They don’t demand others live up to ideals they themselves ignore. That’s not leadership… that’s despotism with manners.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
