Limericks

Dear Friends,

There once was a faction of vote fraud,

Thinking they’re omnipotent and a god,

She said with flair,

I’m quite aware,

And gave Stalin, Lenin and Mao a nod.

Man and women are all born free,

Until we’re hemmed in you see,

By a despot’s binds,

Or our own minds,

Especially a cult of personality.

The hypocrisy of the censor is simply this,

They don’t allow their words hidden in mist,

It’s a one way street,

Not applying to the elite,

While we’re held to speech law by an iron fist.

Despots always nationalize local industry,

To pay for their egoistic socialist profligacy,

The people it robs,

Losing their jobs,

But political cronies get better off financially.

Use your voice don’t ever can it,

Before the censors try to ban it,

If enough of us speak,

It’ll make them freak,

Because drops of water erode granite.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
