The Willfully Blind

Sunday, August 13th, 2017

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the ability of people to deny what is right in front of their eyes, is nothing short of extraordinary. It goes back to my glittering lies versus ugly truths article. People would rather believe a glittering lie than recognize an ugly truth, but in this case, it is far more diabolical. Hate is blinding. Those who’s hearts are empty must fill them with something, and hate is tangible, it fills a person and gives purpose. It allows a person to pick and choose what to believe, don’t like the ugly truth of the Holocaust, deny it, don’t want to follow Jesus, deny he existed, want to abort babies at will, deny they are human beings, seek to oppress those that disagree with you, deny their humanity, etc… To deny that which is in front of your own face, is a form of blindness, and only the blind are able to deny what is in front of them.

I recently watched a video about the Second World War, and upon reading the comments, I was flabbergasted at the number of people convinced the Holocaust never happened! Those that claim not to believe in the Holocaust, despite the ample historical evidence, testimony of witnesses and even the stories of the survivors, are people that would allow such a thing to happen again. The only way someone could deny such a crime against humanity is if their hearts are filled with hate. Hate that blinds them to reality, hate of people they have never met and hate of humanity itself. I don’t bandy the word hate around like progressives, as a catchall for anything they disagree with, but as a means to point out the quality that makes such evil possible. To willfully blind oneself can only lead to severe consequences.

Another video about disproving the resurrection of Jesus had similar comments. Most of the comments denied Jesus even existed at all. I find it saddening that so many would blind themselves to truth. Some claimed the morality Jesus taught only came about during the Enlightenment! Talk about ignorance! Such people cannot be reasoned with. How can you have a conversation with someone who gaslights you? It is impossible. Their hearts are so filled with hate for Christianity, over perceived slights, done in many cases centuries ago, by people born in Christendom but were barbarians. A person can claim to be anything they want… but if my cat had kittens in the oven, I wouldn’t call them biscuits.

Abortionists have to deny that their victims are human beings… because otherwise they are murderers. It must make it easier to slaughter innocents by the millions if you deny their humanity. Even the Totenkopf Schutzstaffel, had to be transferred back to Germany, because of the toll it took on them to murder so many innocent Jews and Slavs. Yet Abortionists slaughter babies with glee. They don’t seem to have any human hearted sympathy whatsoever for their victims. They have the uncanny ability to deny that which is right in front of them. The Nazis murdered around six million Jews, abortionists in the US alone have murdered over sixty million human beings, an order of magnitude worse.

The singular lesson of the Twentieth Century was that socialism doesn’t work. From Stalin’s purges and mass murder that killed between thirty and sixty million people, through Mao’s Cultural Revolution that claimed the lives of nearly one hundred million, to Pol Pot who killed so many so fast he ran out of bullets, so he had little girls using plastic bags to suffocate people all day long, and little boys clubbing people to death, socialism has proven itself to be a humanitarian disaster. Only the willfully blind are able to overlook such atrocities. Today zealots for socialism control our schools, government, legal firms and media. They have blinded themselves because it makes it easier to believe a glittering lie than admit an ugly truth.

We can only advance morally, philosophically and scientifically if we stride into the future with our eyes open. Today our culture and society is running blind with scissors. Many have put out their own eyes to feel better about who they serve and what they do. In their minds they fancy themselves Zatoichi, blind to what is in front of them but have a superhuman ability to fight, which means they are fooling themselves as well. Those who see, are denigrated today by the blind, because it is much easier to remain blind and ignorant than to admit the ugly truths they create. Reality cannot be long denied however, and those that deny it, sooner or later will pay the price. There is an old saying, “In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king…” but in the land of the willfully blind, the sighted are hated for their vision.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The War of Ideas

Monday, September 19th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, we live in a world of competing ideas, America is an idea, justice is an idea, socialism is an idea, Islamism is an idea, gender fluidity is an idea, limited government is an idea, etc… these ideas compete for the minds of people. As in any competition it is not the best who wins but the most zealous. If the adherents of an idea are willing to do whatever it takes to forward their idea, then that idea will become widespread, if the adherents of an idea are wishy washy, that idea will loose ground. The battleground for these competing ideas is the media, schools, universities, cafes, bars and any other forum in which people communicate. The goal line is the zeitgeist. The ideas that permeate the zeitgeist best become widespread and either visit evil or good on humanity. It is important to note, the goodness or badness of an idea has little or no merit in the strength or weakness of that idea, the strength of an idea comes from the intensity of belief of that idea, in the minds of those who take it to be truth. If we seek goodness, then we must grab those ideas that are good and let go of those that are bad, in this we have history and common sense as guides, yet the power of many bad ideas is such that they cannot be easily let go of. As self interested rational maximizers however, it is our ability to reason that has allowed any good ideas at all to survive, against the magnetic pull of evil.

Bad ideas, or ideas that result in human suffering, have an innate pull. They always promise power wealth and prestige for those who hold fast to them. Think about the pull of socialism for a moment. It promises wealth to everyone, it claims to be a form of fairness and it pretends to be about love, (applying to emotion) but most of all, socialism gives unlimited power to those who will run the socialist state, (applying to self interest). To anyone who favors socialism, it is that unlimited power that is the magnet that provides the attraction. Every socialist wants to be the one who runs the socialist state. That is why whenever the dismal history of socialism and Marxism is brought up, the socialist will claim true socialism has never been tried, else that the “wrong” people were in charge then, the obvious connotation is that if they were in charge things would have gone much differently. Bad ideas have an innate pull to people who lust after power.

When someone is so certain of the idea they espouse they are willing to do violence to force others to believe and to stop others from abandoning that idea. The NAZI party was all too willing to visit evil on anyone who didn’t hold their ideas. They waged war against every other political faction in Germany at the time until all the rest were subjugated. Then the NAZIS went on to wage a bloody war of conquest across Europe and north Africa to further their idea of national socialism. The NAZIS are not alone in their willingness to do violence to forward their idea. The willingness to do violence in the name of an idea is a strong indication that idea is bad. If an idea requires the evil of violence to spread, that idea is evil. Evil ideas must be withstood at all costs else evil will become widespread.

Good ideas however don’t promise power, wealth or prestige for a faction, person or group, they offers good to everyone, and in that way good ideas have less power over the minds of those who take them to be truth. Limited government offers no incentive to someone who seek power over others, and so those who believe in limited government don’t have personal gain in believing in limited government, so limited government is an idea that while good, has little pull on the minds of people. The idea of America, the land of opportunity and of the free, has a strong pull to those who live in poverty or oppression, but once a person gets to America, other ideas become more attractive. Preferential treatment by political force is much easier than hard work, and so it often replaces the idea of “America,” once an immigrant comes here. The result is that people move to a place for freedom and opportunity then try mightily to turn it into a place of no opportunity and oppression.

It is in talking that we promote or denigrate ideas. Any form of communication is how ideas are spread and how they are destroyed. Hitler wrote Mien Kampf, Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto, the Founding Fathers wrote the Federalist papers and the anti Federalist papers, nightly news programs promote progressivism, and it is in our cafes, bars, and internet forums, that ideas are passed from person to person. The battleground for the spread of ideas is anyplace people congregate and talk.

When we watch people debating an idea we usually gravitate to the idea whose adherents are the most zealous. Often a zealous arguer is more convincing than one who uses logic and reason, because she uses emotion, and emotion is a stronger motivator of men than reason, especially those who claim to be “reasonable.” Logic, reason, emotion and self interest, are some of the weapons people use to promote their ideas. Emotion is like a nuclear weapon since it has such power, self interest is like strategic bombing and logic is like a sword, cutting absurdity from truth. Only where the battleground is intolerant of emotion can the nuclear weapon be banned. This is why bad ideas that are based on self interest and emotion are so powerful and have such sway over the minds of people.

We live in a world of ideas, whether evil or good, those ideas determine the quality of life of all humanity. It has been said, the human mind is like a rider on an elephant, the rider is reason and it is the elephant that does the work. Clearly, the rider has only limited control of the elephant, and must ride where the elephant goes, that is why emotion is such a good motivator. We are all self interested, seeking our own good over the good of others, applying to our immediate self interest then is another powerful way to promote an idea, bad ideas are good at this tactic while good ideas are bad at it. It is this siren call of evil ideas, that is why human history has so few examples of good ideas becoming widespread, and why evil ideas have been the norm. Good ideas apply to logic and reason while bad ideas apply to emotion and self interest. Good ideas recoil from violence while evil ideas embrace it. In the end however, the good ideas… limited government, America, and justice for all, actually are in our long term self interest, if not in our immediate self interest. Let us pray then, that humanity will use logic and reason to decide what ideas we will follow, abandoning emotion and lust, thus improving the lot of mankind.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Normative Philosophy and Morality

Thursday, June 9th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, once you have accepted there is a God, and thus morality, the next step is to determine what is the right God, and thus right morality. It is obvious that worshiping an evil god will not result in a better life, for the worshiper nor their offspring, and to bow to a false deity, is as bad or worse than the hubris of atheism. So avoiding false morality, for true morality, is of utmost importance. To do that, we need a framework in which to place the commands of the various Gods, qualify them and weigh them for their inner morality. The philosophy of Pragmatism is ideally suited for just such a task. While Pragmatism is a normative philosophy, that can be applied to a plethora of complex human systems, in rectifying morality it shines. Moreover, as humanity’s recognition of true morality grows, so does the economic, scientific, cultural, civil and social conditions in which we live under.

Even atheists claim a knowledge of morality. They will always say, “I am moral, I donate…” What they don’t understand is that they are calling on God and his supernatural principles also known as… morality. They argue such because they know, a society, culture and the crime rate are based on the aggregate morality of the people. Most people know this to be true, but what goes deeper than many people understand is that morality is the basis for all sorts of things we would never associate with it. The level of scientific achievement is based on the morality of a people, the level of economic prosperity is morality dependent, the character of a nation ie. It’s propensity to war depends on it’s moral compass, etc… Morality is a much more important question for our self interest than it is ever given.

Pragmatism is a normative philosophy since it answers the question which is good and which is bad. The means pragmatism uses to find the good or the bad is to look at outcomes. It cares nothing for intentions, means, theory or abstract, it only looks at outcomes and therefore is experimental in nature. How to use pragmatism, we look at what has happened in the past when certain moral systems were in place. Next we qualify them by their economic, human, social, cultural and scientific outcomes. If some of those outcomes were good… then that system of morality had at least some good in it, if there was starvation, human suffering, tyranny, scientific backsliding, etc… we can reliably say that system of morality was bad.

Pragmatism can be applied to all sorts of complex human systems to gauge their good or bad. Economics lends itself. If we examine the moral outcomes of the various economic systems that have been tried, we can conclude… the feudal system leads to stagnation, slavery leads to an inflexible economy and socialism leads to famine war and want, while capitalism leads to scientific advance, economic prosperity and cultural equanimity. If we exclude the outcome based philosophy, instead adopting a system that takes intentions into account, socialism becomes the better option. If we assume a system that is based on tribal ties then slavery becomes ideal. Further, if we are beholding to authority, the feudal system becomes our favorite. The moral and economic system people choose as “good,” is often based on the system used to decide, what is good and what is bad.

Once we accept that morality is fundamental to our well being as a culture, society, scientific community, economy and way of life, answering the question of what is the right morality we as a society want to live under becomes paramount. The system of morality in vogue at any given time may, or may not be true morality, nevertheless the outcome of that system can point us toward true morality by it’s outcome. Intentions, group affinity, theory, calls to authority, etc… all lead in the wrong direction. The only way to reliably gauge the good or bad of a system is outcome, (experimentally) based. We can dream of ideals all day long but in the end it is the outcome that determines if a system is good or bad. So do we want to live under a throwback system of morality that leads to stagnation, famine, war, group affinity, or is destroyed by the cancer of idealism? If you don’t make the decision for yourself, what morality you want your children to be immersed in… then let your decision be head, others will be happy to make it for you… and your children and grandchildren will have to suffer the consequences.

Argentina’s Election of Macri

Thursday, December 17th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, Argentina is one profoundly corrupt nation, and that bodes ill for any possible economic prosperity. This isn’t news from the perpetual failure, Argentina, is no exception it is the rule. Argentina seems to have an ability to choose the wrong path as an intrinsic attribute. The corruption in it’s government is as legendary as is it’s economic failures. Argentina has become the poster child for everything wrong with modern government. Lately we have prosecutors found dead in their bathtubs, who have the audacity to write up criminal charges against the former President over collusion with Islamic terrorists from Iran to kill Jews, and is it a shock to anyone that the new prosecutor and the courts refuse to hear the case? Such endemic corruption would be unthinkable in a market based country, but Argentina is a socialist nation, and so such corruption is merely the way to do business, which is the future of any nation that chooses socialism. Argentina however, has just changed course, for how long no one can tell but electing a capitalist is a start.

In 1900 Argentina had the same GDP per person as the US. Since then Argentina has gone down the path to socialism in a big way. All governments like to hand out other people’s money, it makes the government appear generous without costing the elite that run it anything. Argentina has taken that strategy to a new level. Their healthcare system is open to anyone who needs healthcare from around the world. People flock to Argentina from all over South America to cash in on it which costs the Argentine people tons of money. The costs are paid for by the people through lower wages, lower standards of living and a shrinking middle class. The costs are born by the people and the benefits are given to the elite.

This year Argentina elected Mauricio Macri who ran on a platform of economic transformation. He claimed he will change the direction from socialism, which has failed so spectacularly in Argentina, to laissez faire. We will have to wait and see if he does, but that the Argentine people elected someone who will change course from socialism to capitalism, is encouraging. With it’s history of socialism and the outright destruction of the middle class through many bouts of hyper inflation is worry some however. It shows the people of Argentina will likely be expecting an immediate economic miracle, which after so many years of corruption and economic absurdity, will inevitably be slow, especially since Macri will have to fight against the entrenched bureaucracy.

The corruption became even more evident after Macri’s election. The record office had a suspicious fire, which destroyed all the records of who is owed what from the Argentine government, as well as all the pay offs and corruption of the last regime. Convenient eh? Then dozens of armored trucks left the Central bank will all the Argentine gold reserves and foreign reserves delivering them to waiting airplanes to be whisked out of the country to private accounts only God knows where. Such shenanigans highlight the results of socialist governments. Socialism is not for the benefit of the people but for the elite. The elite live like kings while they steal everything that is not nailed down.

The endemic corruption within the government will not just go away because a new president has been elected, it will need to be dug out and excised, like the cancer it is. How such a feat can be done with people who are corrupt themselves will be an enigma, unless Macri can somehow get the government and people to agree on a Constitutional amendment that establishes a NUMA. Drawn from people outside government such a branch could effectively root out the corruption that has so hobbled Argentina. Anything short of a NUMA would be smashed against a wall of corruption decades in the making.

Argentina has a long hard road ahead of it to get their economy and government functioning again. The new President Macri is facing an entrenched bureaucracy that will try mightily to stymie his every effort at reform, corruption in every nook and cranny of the government, a people anxious for results, and a media that is at best hostile to his reforms. He does have the benefit however of presiding over a nation that is rich in natural resources, has good access to the ocean, has an educated people willing to work, and fairly good infrastructure. We should pray for the people of Argentina, that Macri’s reforms do the trick and that Argentina puts its socialist past behind it. Not just for the Argentine people, but as an example for all the people in poor countries beset by socialism and corruption.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Political Heroin

Monday, October 26th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, addiction to heroin always results in poverty, sickness and a loss of one’s soul, socialism is exactly the same. Like addiction to heroin, political heroin, socialism, promises good times but delivers anguish. Both addiction and socialism make people dependent, they ruin lives and remove the incentive to get ahead. Both are alluring however. The idea that something can be had for nothing, wealth in the case of socialism and euphoria in the case of heroin, is very attractive. Today we have politicians who are nothing but pushers. They shill for socialism as a cure all for the ills socialism has visited us with. They offer a free sample, later doses of socialism will cost you dearly though, your job, your family and your soul. Even many so called conservatives offer out socialism, they say a little socialism won’t hurt you, just like a pusher claims a little heroin won’t hurt you. Both types of pushers are villains.

Imagine all the people who’s lives have been ruined by addiction to heroin. We have all seen the television shows where the heroin addict is a pathetic figure, emaciated, jonesing for a hit, strung out and will do anything for another hit of heroin. They live on the streets, stink because even taking a bath gets in the way of their addiction and plead with passers by for money. They have given up their humanity, their lives and their very souls. Of course they didn’t start out that way. Most heroin addicts started as attractive, personable and outgoing people who had it going on. They thought a little high wouldn’t hurt so they open the door and walked through. It doesn’t happen overnight, and that is the trick. Their friends see them going on as if everything was well with them and try it for themselves. Then they too walk through the door to ruin.

People in socialist countries mirror heroin addicts. The nation usually starts out as relatively wealthy. They have people that are attractive, personable and have it going on. They convince themselves the country would be better off if they tried a little socialism. The fall doesn’t happen immediately, some nations last longer than others, but the fall is inevitable once that first taste of socialism has been tried. Eventually the people are starving, the middle class is destroyed, the family unit has collapsed and the people have turned from all morality and religion. All anyone wants is the next free handout. The work ethic is corroded to the point where fewer and fewer people work and more and more become dependent on the handouts. People live in the streets from lack of opportunity and when the government runs out of other people’s money, famine, filth and despair fill the land.

The examples of nations that have gone down the path to addiction are legion. Venezuela is only the latest, but that nation, rich in natural resources, was preceded by hundreds of others. The socialist politicians like to point at socialist countries that haven’t lost everything yet, like a high school kid points to the functional addict, who is still on the football team, as an example of who he wants to be. They claim the functional addict is happier, more popular and cooler than you. All the while offering a free try. This has happened since the invention of political heroin by Rousseau. It is the functional addicts however that keep getting more people, and nations addicted to heroin and socialism. Even the most functional addict eventually falls and becomes destitute.

Today our politicians claim we need to become more socialist to solve the problems that the welfare state has brought about. They blame capitalism, but there hasn’t been capitalism since the 1920s. They point to the functional addicted nations as examples of what we should do. They point at the results of our past use of political heroin and offer that we just need to do a little more and everything will be better. No different than an addict who believes things are terrible now but everything will be better once they find a dose… and it seems to be while the dose lasts, but every dose, either of heroin or socialism, needs to be bigger to get the same result. Eventually, no matter how large and potent the dose it only keeps the addict level, the high has gone, but they need it just to stop the pain.

Heroin and political heroin, socialism, have the same attractive qualities, they both have the same addictive nature and they both ruin. At first the high seems harmless but as the addiction progresses it becomes all powerful. The answer is not to only take heroin on Friday nights, that becomes impossible, the answer is to go cold turkey. Of course, that answer is not what the addict wants to hear. They will argue to the head of a pin that it wont work, will be too painful, and that it might even kill them. What they really fear however, is the withdrawal. A heroin addict feels like their bones are breaking as they withdraw from heroin and a nation will feel similar pain as it withdraws from political heroin, socialism, but unless the drug is kicked, the fall is eventual. Both heroin addicts and political heroin addicted nations will eventually reach rock bottom, and will be forced to quit, Venezuela is almost there. Sadly, the draw is so strong, even after the pain of withdrawal, both will usually become addicts once again the moment they get back on their feet… and so, the addiction seldom ends, until the addict dies.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Our Replacements… Illegal Immigrants

Sunday, August 16th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the new class is unhappy with the way Americans and Europeans have voted, so they are replacing us with people they believe will vote correctly. You have heard the term undocumented democrats, well tat is pretty close to the whole truth, most illegal aliens are from nations that have no concept, or at best a perverted understanding, of capitalism, socialism, limited government, liberty, human heartedness and history. They mostly come from autocratic countries that have never had those things, yet the people fleeing from dictatorships are more than happy to establish tyranny here. Not that illegal immigrants are necessarily bad, nor that they are stupid, they simply are ignorant and so can be easily manipulated into voting against their own best interests. To put it in the new class/Marxist vernacular, “They are willing to take up their historic role in the revolution.” That is why the elite intellectuals so love illegal immigration from autocracies and forbid immigration from Western capitalist nations. The goal is to destroy every vestige of limited government, capitalism, liberty and human heartedness.

Alvin Gouldner put it this way, “Marx said, ‘Philosophy is the head of emancipation, and the proletariat is the heart.’ But it takes a great deal of fancy theoretical footwork—in short, of ideology and false consciousness—to assume that the head and heart of politics are always integrated and have identical interests. Indeed, much of the discussion among Marxists today, concerning the failure of the proletariat as an historical force thus far, is in effect a discussion about the possibility of a ‘heart transplant’; that is, of replacing the proletariat with another historical actor: e.g., students, blacks, third world forces, etc. Intellectuals are capable of being an autonomous political force and when one social group does not play the role they have assigned to it, when it fails in its ‘historical responsibility’, intellectuals will often shop around for another client group to ‘represent’. False consciousness is generated when the special, vested interests of intellectuals are deemed illegitimate and are therefore concealed, and when intellectuals feel they must pretend to be representatives of another group’s interests.” This is written in the new class language or code, and everyone knows a code is to keep the unwanted from understanding what is said and meant.

To unpack Gouldner’s thesis, in classical Marxism, the people, you and I, have a role to play, it is our “historical responsibility” to bring about a socialist revolution. In the US and Europe, the people have not done what Marx and his allies wanted, rise up calling for socialism, and so we must be replaced. In this way illegal immigration is the “heart transplant” he talks about. The intellectuals, college professors, out of work PHDs, Deans of universities, etc… the leaders of the new class, are more than happy to lead the revolution and overthrow the old order… of liberty, limited government, human heartedness and capitalism, but they can’t go it alone they need a large faction to back them. There is a reason Obama’s government has more intellectuals than any before him and indeed Obama himself is an intellectual.

What and why do they want to eliminate? Capitalism, because the new class are useless and unable to provide anything of real value, they cannot prosper by it but under socialism, they get the benefit. Who cares if the people suffer under socialism, the elite prosper. Limited government is obnoxious to the new class intellectual, since they are always the people who staff government, limiting their power over the people, economy and civilization, offends their egos. Liberty to the new class is something that should be reserved to them alone, those who are not willing to simply live and let live but want control, use justice as a tool to pry justice from the hands of the people. The new class hates human heartedness because there are things a human hearted man or woman will not do. The human hearted person is unwilling to “break some eggs for the greater good.” Human heartedness requires empathy, love of one’s fellow man, acceptance of their flaws and a deep desire to do no harm. How can any revolution get underway until the people are willing to slaughter whomever the elite tell them to?

So there you have it, the new class elite’s love of illegal immigration has nothing at all to do with improving anyone’s life, it is not about compassion or human heartedness, it is about exploiting the political system, for wealth, power and prestige. The new class believes itself to be our intellectual, and moral inferiors, why shouldn’t the rest of us lesser caliber people bow to them, give them our wealth and cow toe to their demands for us? After all, we don’t have PHDs, we are not their equals… we are their subordinates, and so since we are unwilling to accept our role in human affairs, as appointed to us by them, they have no choice but to replace us, with those who are willing to accept their role in the revolution. That my friends is why the new class elite defend and so love illegal immigration.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Resistance to the New World Order is Futile…

Monday, March 30th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the long knives will be coming out for Ted Cruz, on both the left and the right. The elite cannot allow a politician to undo all the advances they have made, in perverting our Constitution, installing a police state and getting us to go along with opaque government, while we are stripped naked before government. No, those advances are too hard fought, too long in coming, and too empowering for the elite… for the elite to allow that. That is why the left and the right are united in their hatred of Ted Cruz. He not only stands in the way of their progress to tyranny but he threatens to even reverse it! The new class cannot allow liberty at the table of power, because liberty is a mortal danger to the despotic police state, their end goal. It is amazing that the new class, on both sides of the isle, will always come together in that one thing… to destroy a constitutionalist.

The new class media have already lobbed a few salvos at Ted Cruz. The birther debate, while ignored by the media when it came to Obama’s fake birth certificate, is a very important piece of news today. You can always count on the media to do their very best work, when it comes to personally destroying someone who stands for liberty, while supporting and backing a politician who seeks to subjugate the people. It is their forte. Their undying enmity for anyone who believes in liberty and is not on board with the new class agenda, to progress the US and indeed the world to a Utopian socialist state, where liberty is so far behind it cannot be seen in the rear view mirror, is their one universal quality.

Politicians in Cruz’s own party have attacked him mercilessly, even while refusing to attack Obama for subverting our Constitution, not following laws or even court orders. Those who like to claim they are conservatives seem to be happy with more government… as long as they are the ones to control it. The power brokers in the republican party hate Ted Cruz more than the democrats. When Ted Cruz stood up and filibustered Obama care, an action that was favored by the American people but despised by the elite, his own party were his worst attackers. I am sure republicans will place more knives in Ted Cruz’s back to add to the ones they have already embedded there.

The democrat party has been totally usurped by outright Marxists. Such great names in democrat politics, like John Kennedy and Harry Truman, would not even be allowed on stage next to Elizabeth Warren or Barack Obama. Their extreme stances on abortion, the federal reserve, US sovereignty, ect… couldn’t be stood by today’s democrats. Those who worship at the alter of Marx and international socialism have no time for anyone who isn’t in their denomination. The Marxists are smart however, evil and conniving, but smart, they will allow the republican progressives to destroy Cruz, keeping their hands clean to destroy the progressive the republicans do run.

If Ted Cruz gets the nomination however, and goes for the sixty percent of the US electorate that are fed up with the false choice we are given, as Reagan did, then he would win in a landslide… which would be intolerable. So the pundits, brainiacs and cronies of big government, will claim he is a fool if he doesn’t go for the five percent who vote, but are so confused, they have no idea what for. Since that worked out so well for Romney. The sixty percent who want more liberty, less corruption, transparent and limited government, are to be ignored as extremists and nuts. Ted Cruz has the ability to appeal to those of us who are tired of the choice of a Marxist or a Socialist. Those of us who want our government to follow our Constitution, as we are forced to follow their laws and regulations, could have a choice, unless Cruz is destroyed by the new class.

Personal destruction is very effective at getting the worst possible candidate, from a liberty point of view, and has worked wonders to pervert our political system. Reagan was attacked at every turn. He was hated by the republican elite as much as by the democrats and media. They called him the “Teflon President,” because they threw so much spurious mud at Reagan, and none of it stuck. Harry Truman was loathed by the new class. They despised Truman because he was a man of the people, and most alarmingly, he didn’t have a college degree! He hadn’t been indoctrinated by the new class! Ted Cruz will suffer attacks from all three sides. His own villainous party will attack him most duplicitously, the media will go after his character and democrats will feed lies and rumors to Cruz’s detractors. Ted Cruz has his work cut out for him. The ground won’t be smoothed for him, as it was for Obama, it will be plowed up and mined. If he can succeed, and he is who he claims to be, the real winners will be the American people. If he is destroyed and a progressive is put up, like another Bush, the victory for the new class and the Marxists will come at great cost to the American people.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Poison of Propaganda

Thursday, September 25th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, knowing propaganda is not the same thing as having knowledge. People who have been well indoctrinated in propaganda will stand on a rooftop and spout their pseudo knowledge with the certainty of a prophet. Most often those who think they know, will shout down someone who actually knows, because there is confidence in propaganda that is not available to those who actually understand the subject at hand. This is because actual knowledge requires an open mind, reasoned thought, observable reality and the evolution of knowledge, while propaganda gives a certainty that is not possible to someone with an open mind. Knowing the difference is critical if we are to seek knowledge and not fall victim to hucksters shilling propaganda.

Socialists, Marxists and progressives use propaganda like a poor Italian cook uses too much garlic. You can smell it on those that imbibe it. Propaganda is always offered as the end all truth. Anyone who has the audacity to offer a different opinion is vilified as promoting ignorance or as ignorant themselves. The propagandist will attack the person with an opposing view instead of addressing the arguments. That is because propaganda cannot stand up to open minded review while actual knowledge can.

The Enlightenment was about changing the source of knowledge from authority to observable reality. The propagandist eschews open debate for authority. You hear propagandists constantly referencing authority while claiming to be the rightful heirs of the Enlightenment. College professors are of this ilk. They stand in front of ignorant youths, (theoretically, that is why they are in college in the first place, to grow out of their ignorance), and teach them propaganda couched as truth, based totally upon the authority of the professor. This has become such a problem that colleges and universities have transformed into indoctrination centers for the new class progressive world view, real knowledge cannot be allowed, because it would alter the narrative that socialism is good and markets are bad, against all observations of history.

Global warming is the epitome of propagandist reasoning. The IPCC has been caught lying over and over, none of their predictions have come to pass and there is a ton of information available that counters their propaganda, but they rely on the false appeal to authority, “the science is settled.” Science is never settled, once the leading minds of the day were convinced light traveled through the “ether.” Today we know it doesn’t, because it is acts both a wave and a particle, which travels the same speed in any direction, all of which destroys the argument light travels through an “ether.” Real science is based on observation proving theory, in the global warming alarmist circles however, whenever observation goes against theory, it is observation that must be thrown out. We must instead rely on the self interested authority of the alarmists.

The youth are the most susceptible to propaganda. They haven’t the knowledge base or life experience to put into perspective the sweet lies that the propagandist feeds them. Since every one of us would rather believe a delectable lie rather than a bitter truth, propaganda that is appealing is well received by ignorant youths, as well as lazy minded adults. If you tell an old man that communism has never been tried, he will scoff at you and consider you an idiot propagandist, while an ignorant youth or lazy minded adult, will lap it up as though it was universal truth. In this case the poison of propaganda is sweet while the bitter truth of communism is hard to swallow.

By definition propaganda is false knowledge, or sophistry, that sounds reasonable but in fact is designed to trick people into making decisions that are not in their best interest. Otherwise why do it? Lacking life experience the youth are the most susceptible, but even lazy minded adults can be persuaded by propaganda, sometimes even when they know it is propaganda, because it is easier to just go along. The propagandist will make arguments based on partial truths mixed with many lies and backed by omissions. When they are caught in a lie they change the subject and their willing accomplices will vilify those who point out those lies. All showing that the propagandist despises the advances of the Enlightenment, and undermines it in the most pernicious ways, returning us to the dark ages of serfdom.

The bloody history of communism, socialism and progressivism shows all too well the results of mindlessly going along with propaganda. The progressive Woodrow Wilson and his eugenics movement led to the sterilization of thousands of American citizens against their wills, and provided the intellectual backstop for the Nazi eugenics based, final solution. The socialist Goebbels was the consummate propagandist, he used propaganda to put a ring in the nose of the German people, leading them to the most horrific slaughter of human beings the world has yet seen. Lenin used propaganda to enslave the Russian empire resulting in tens of millions of human beings, killed, tortured, sent to gulags and insane asylums. If we want to repeat that history, all that is required is to go along, if we wish to avoid such human suffering however, it is incumbent upon us to speak up and point out propaganda when we see it.

The Danger of Following a Lunatic

Sunday, May 11th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems amazing to me how the progressives can convince us of things we know to be false. The list is endless of absurdities they have tricked us into believing. The list isn’t as important as is the fact that we, or at least enough of us, fall for the used car salesman’s pitch to damage our mutual interests. Perhaps the answer lay in the fact, they convince themselves of absurdities they know to be false, because they seem so good if they were true. If we want to call ourselves civilized then we must stop believing in those things we know in our hearts to be false, else we are nothing more than maniacs, in a technological age. As we all know, give a lunatic power and it will be used for evil, no matter his or her intentions.

From abortion and man made climate change to socialism and peace through weakness our logic is under constant assault from those who consider themselves enlightened. The elite in academia are the epitome of ignoramuses. Who is more ignorant, one who understands he or she doesn’t know everything, or one who has the hubris to believe they know everything? They exploit their monopoly of the media, education and the dissemination of information to wash us with their propaganda, without a thought to the consequences of their beliefs. It is patently true that if they actually got their way and the planet became one world communist government, and make no mistake, that is exactly what their end game is, they would be the first rounded up and executed as potential troublemakers.

George Orwell said people will believe what the media tells them they believe. This is as true a statement as has been uttered. We are social animals and we follow the flock. We reason that I myself cannot know more then the multitude, and so it must be in my best interests to follow, even when we see the cliff looming ahead. Only the few have the self control to stand up and shout, “that way is death.” Those who do are attacked in the most vitriolic and despicable way possible. Those that are leading, care nothing about where they are leading us, only that they lead.

It is the elite, in politics, academia and culture who are falling victim to their own propaganda. They so want promiscuity to be a good thing they convince themselves abortion is good, they so lack self esteem they must have total control of everyone else so they blindly chant the dangers of climate change, they need us to rely on them for everything and in every way so they connive for communism, and they desire so much that world peace can be reached without war they disarm the good and arm the evil… to show them how peace loving we are, the list goes on and on, The elite have convinced themselves of the most idiotic things imaginable, in the face of all the evidence to the contrary.

Scientists can infer there is an ocean under forty kilometers of ice on the moon Enceladus, simply by the speed in which the Cassini spacecraft flies by, but they cannot understand that communism has resulted in millions of deaths and untold human suffering every time it is tried. You would have to conclude they are idiot savants. They convince themselves that absurdity is true and reality is false, and that is their right as human beings. We however must not fall victim to their insanity. We must stand against the tide of insanity lest it wash over us and our children with all it implies. When we know a thing to be false we must not go along to keep the peace we must speak up and point out the absurdity, those in academia may know how to parse a sentence and quote Marx but that doesn’t make them Gods, it makes them germs living in a microscopic world of specialization. Just because someone knows everything there is to know about the guanine step in DNA, doesn’t mean they know anything about human existence, and we are smart to understand that. Remember, he who follows a madman is mad himself, no matter if he knows his leader is insane…

God and the State

Monday, April 21st, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, government is intent on replacing God, and in doing so they demand equal supplication. This is not a new thing, the ancient empires all did it. The Egyptian Pharaohs were considered the sons of gods, as were many other kings. It was a means back then, when people were ignorant and superstitious, to legitimize arbitrary rule by kings over the people. Today the idea is essentially the same, the elite claim there is no God, and if there is no God, then all of our rights come from the State. If our rights come from the State then the State can revoke them as the politically elite see fit. This circular reasoning is elevated to an actual religion in the case of Communist States where we see mass murderers worshiped like Gods. Lenin and Mao come immediately to mind as does the North Korean demon Kim. The communist manifesto argued that religion is the opium of the people, and by that logic that pernicious religion seeks to replace God with the State. As we slide deeper into the morass of Statism, we will find ourselves in exactly the same position as the ancient peoples, subjects and slaves. If we allow it then we deserve it.

The US Constitution is based on a Judeo Christian definition of God. This cannot be denied unless one is ignorant of the words of the founding fathers or intentionally misleading the public. Moreover the Declaration of Independence clearly states that our Rights come from God. Which means that the founders of the American republic recognized God and that the State is a necessary evil to protect us and our property from those who would take them. They sought the most limited State possible that would have the power to protect us, our children and our things. The US founding documents are unambiguous about this.

That paradigm doesn’t suit the progressive and socialist faction. They seek to unshackle the US government, and indeed all governments, from any limitations whatsoever. They imagine all the good they could do if only they had unlimited power to redistribute the goods of society as they see fit. The State could eliminate all the ills of society and culture by deciding who wins and who looses in various human and economic interactions. They even have the hubris to seek to change our very nature, as in Marx’s Manifesto, he claims that once we live under communism we will loose touch with our individual selves and evolve into our species selves. All of this implies a strong worship of the State and the power of the State.

Of course all the “good” that could be done by government is dependent on eliminating the limitations that Constitutions and a belief in God place on them. Under a system where eternal punishment is taken as a given we are more placid knowing everything is in God’s very capable hands. But the socialist needs people to forget the eternal and dwell in the moment. This makes us jealous of our things, scared of each other, it forces us to be politically active all the time and lowers us to the level of mere animals. All of which works in the favor of those that seek to replace God with the State.

There are very few who have not witnessed a miracle. Perhaps it is the birth of a baby, the spontaneous remission of cancer or an astonishingly unlikely happenstance that benefited us in some way, but most of us have witnessed an act of God. Not to mention the miracles recorded in the Bible… like the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This makes the task of those that seek to replace God with the State much harder, and so they deny any of these things are miracles. Like a shyster they tell us to ignore our lying eyes and believe their honest pleas. Only a fool however will ignore his own eyes, experience and history to believe in a scam being perpetrated on them by a huckster. Unfortunately many do.

It is not reasonable to deny God exists in the face of the miraculous and worship the State given the history of human government. The State is administered by human beings, who are greedy, conniving and fearful, making the State these same things. Only a State administered by saints would be different. Those who consider themselves saints however, are in fact demons, and those who are saints, eschew power, making it impossible for a State to be anything but greedy, conniving and fearful. A self interested people rightly understood, understand these basic facts, but those who remain willfully ignorant do not. A rational maximizer will weigh the cost of turning from God to the State and find the wager absurd, while a fool will not only go along, but will attack the rational maximizer as mean and old fashioned. The results of turning away from God and to the State are there for all of us to see, they are arbitrary rule, if only we open our eyes and look.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
