Liars, Bold Faced Liars and The Media

Sunday, June 11th, 2017

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, any news outlet that doesn’t allow commentary on it’s site, has something to hide. Moreover, their reputation is the capital the media transacts business on, as they corrode their reputational capital, their viewership and therefore their profits, must also corrode, making them ever more angry and disconnected from reality, and thus destructive of their own capital. I have also noticed those outlets that disallow the voices of the people they are preaching to… always have a progressive bent? Why do you suppose that is? I would argue that those selling a lie, cannot allow the truth to be told, because a lie, like an ugly house, is highlighted as ugly by a well maintained house next to it, the lie becomes obvious when the truth is available. As they keep peddling lies their reputations will continue to diminish until they are nothing but a laughing stock.

Of course there are dozens of way to lie. Outright lies, lies by omission, lies mixed with truth and lies disguised as truth. Some of the ways people and entities can lie are by, omission, misdirection, statistics, facades, deflection, calls to authority rather than debate, groupthink, dismissal of facts, fabrication, and out and out lies. One can even lie to oneself by delusion. All lies, to be believed, must not be scrutinized. Some lies can stand up to a fair amount of scrutiny before falling and others collapse the moment the reader burns a calorie thinking about it. The media uses every type of lie to forward their agenda and especially self delusion.

When someone is caught in a lie, their reputation becomes that of a liar. A person or entity that has a position of authority, as does the media, can shrug off the reputational damage being caught in a lie brings, but no one’s reputation can withstand multiple bouts of being caught in obvious, politically based lies. That is why a liar cannot abide a comment section on their news site! Their lies are scrutinized by their readership when there is a comment section and a liar can never allow that! Their reputation would be destroyed, as we see today with the legacy media. They have so despoiled their own names an ever growing segment of the population hold the media in utter disdain. They have destroyed their own reputations.

Today the media has become the propaganda arm of the globalist new class. Every story they “report” is mere propaganda designed to lull the people into a false sense of security, and blind us to their globalist agenda. Remember Walter Cronkite? He was called the most trusted man in America. As it turns out… he was an admitted new class globalist! He was slanting the news for decades to progress the globalist, anti American agenda his whole career, and was enabled by our perception of his “honesty!” That perception, of being the most trusted man in America, would have been wiped out, had people had been able to comment on his reporting. That is one reason why the media reminisces at their heyday when they were trusted and thus able to spread propaganda without commentary.

Every news story is slanted, attacking anything that would stand in the way of their utopia, which in Greek, means nowhere. The stories about the anti sharia protests were nothing but absurd propaganda. Calling those who don’t want female genital mutilation to be performed on little girls, rejecting forcing anyone not Muslim into dhiminitude, standing against wife beating, slavery, killing apostates (standing for freedom of religion), allowing free speech, etc… calling sane people haters, is propaganda that boarders on the insane. Every time a nut case shoots someone, the media go all in, calling for an end to our second amendment rights, as we are told to tolerate daily terrorist attacks and beheading on our streets… as part of the new normal. The utter human catastrophe in Venezuela is ignored because it goes against everything the media believes. They have gone completely insane.

The media has utterly ruined it’s reputation but are too blinded by self delusion to know. Despite every historical proof to the contrary… the new class progressive media has deluded itself into believing in socialism and global government. I have no doubt they actually do believe that if only the US was gone, and the UN took over the world implementing administrative government… wars would cease, hunger would vanish, no one would have to do dirty jobs, racism would go the way of the dodo, poverty would disappear, the seas would drop, the sun would always shine and we would all live as world citizens singing kumbaya all day long. They have convinced themselves of a glittering lie and seek to convince us as well, that is why they cannot allow ugly truths, those ugly truths merely get in the way of their fantastical dreams. The future will look back and tsk tsk at today’s media wondering how they could have been so crazy. Self delusion however is immune to reason and will not abide commentary on it’s foolishness. That is why I don’t believe a word on any new site that does not allow commentary.

The Progressive New Class Itself Gives Us Reason To Hope…

Monday, November 21st, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, what the media intends by the term that has been bandied about so much lately, “college educated whites,” aside from the obvious racism, is code for the new class. That is to say, it is a measure of how the new class is sticking to the progressive ideology they have been inculcated with. Of course, if the percentage of college educated whites were to get below fifty percent, the progressive new class wold become panicked as it would herald the end of the progressive hegemony of the new class. This brings us to the main point, the new class need not be progressive in it’s ideology, they have been programmed to be that way by university professors who have been programmed that way themselves. That is why the media was so concerned about the percentage of “college educated whites” who voted for Clinton… it is a measure of the reach into the new class of progressivism.

The new class is the group of people college educated. It is as simple as that and as profound as life and death, the new class is a complex system with independent, interdependent actors, expressing emergent actions and generating long tailed events. The new class runs our society, government, decide what the culture will be, report the news to us, teach our children and run our corporations. They are ubiquitous. Since the new class is universally trained in college and universities, doctrine that is taught there, that doctrine has the ability to effect people trained there their whole lives. That doctrine then is carried into the real world where it is put into practice. That is why our lawyers, doctors, journalists, bureaucrats, executives and artists are called the intelligentsia, while the professors, deans and trustees are the intellectuals. In the complex system that is the new class the intellectuals set doctrine and the intelligentsia put them into practice.

The new class then need not be progressive. The progressive faction seized autocratic control of the intellectuals over the course of the twentieth century. That so many college educated whites voted for Trump shows the progressive grip on the new class is slipping. Progressives may still have a monopoly on our colleges and universities, but that control could be made tenuous, if a sufficient and devoted part of the new class set themselves to changing the doctrine taught at colleges and universities. Institutions of higher learning are supposed to be places where free thought is encouraged, lively discourse is heralded and diversity of thought is cherished, that today’s colleges and universities discourage free thought, discourse is lowered to personal attacks and diversity of opinion is loathed shows how off track progressive have taken our institutions of higher learning.

By progressivism I mean, the philosophy of the Frankfurt school, advanced by Gramsci’s cultural hegemony, Marcuse’s repressive tolerance and Saul Alinsky’s Rule For Radicals. The ends of which are global socialist world government, if you are to believe their own literature and philosophy. World government is always sold as the end to war, suffering, poverty, hunger, need, broken toenails, etc… when it is the exact opposite. Socialism has only delivered famine, suffering and war, world socialism would deliver these things on a global scale rather than a national one. Global would be and end to experiments in governance, the nature of distant government would crush innovation, wherever it is found and create a people ripe for extinction.

All night on election night, November eight, two thousand and sixteen, the media that calls itself unbiased touted the “college educated white” number as a propaganda weapon. The connotation being that college educated means smarter than you, whites means thoughtless majority, the reality being the new class. Journalists who are charter members of the new class have a dog in that race, to be validated they need to know the majority of the new class, their equals, believe as they do. Moreover, journalists and the rest of the new class, have a nagging suspicion they have been given the wrong dogma to implement. Blind devotion being only as good as long as reality doesn’t present results in a way undeniable.

Since the faith in progressivism is built upon clay, when it faces reality, which it inevitably must any defection from the ranks of progressive ideology… could trigger a stampede, and is a threat to progressivism. Soon those who defect will come under withering personal attacks in the media that calls itself unbiased. The attacks wont be addressed as much to the defectors, as those behind the defectors, people in the new class who know the doctrine they have been implementing all these years has been discredited, and so are waiting for the right time to jump ship. If a sufficient number of the new class abandons progressivism, progressivism will languish another century before it rears it’s ugly head again.

The new class is a complex system. It need not have progressivism as it’s primary philosophy, being a complex system it can change that philosophy, sometimes very fast. Today that complex system is introspective, it seeks to decide if it should throw off it’s programming and pragmatically rewrite that programming in a way that makes more sense in the real world, or hold onto its doctrine in the face of obvious absurdity. We saw this in the election night reporting where the term college educated white voter was the buzz word. The new class reporters wanted to know if the majority of the new class still clutched the dogma, along with them, even in the face of the obvious absurdities they were expected to believe and advance. Which gives us hope, hope that the advance of globalism might be destroyed by the very forces that have been marshaled to drive it down our throats, hope that the cause of liberty might gain traction in the new class, hope for a future where our children are not just little slaves of the state… but free human beings with natural rights and everything that entails.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Government’s War on Charity

Monday, February 29th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the new class seeks a government monopoly on thought, morality and culture, and so will not tolerate competition from civic organizations. Civic organizations have existed since the founding of the US and before. They have fed the homeless, clothed the indigent, cared for orphans, cleaned up roads, donated to charity, helped the aged and provided for our veterans. The good works of these organizations has made the lot of mankind better. Today, those in government are becoming ever more greedy for power, political, social and cultural. The means to this power is to control the people’s finances, minds and morality. The elite cast envious eyes at the social and cultural good will civic organizations engender and seek that good will for themselves. Make no mistake however, the elite care nothing to help the downtrodden, but to exploit their misfortune to advance their agenda of total control. One thing history teaches us, unequivocally, is that too much power concentrated in too few hands, leads to human suffering on a massive scale.

When a confidence man plays his victim with a scam, he never admits his self interest, instead he applies to the victims wants and needs. The scammer is always more virtuous, more caring and more honest then humanity as a whole. They gain the confidence of a mark and separate the mark from her money. Scores of novels, movies and television shows have been written with this theme. The elite today are running a confidence game on us. We are the victims of the scam. They pass absurd laws in the name of “fairness,” they regulate our every action to “protect” us, they grow the welfare state to “feed” us and they bully us to “help” us make better choices. The elite in government want us to believe they are more virtuous than us, more caring than us and more honest than us.

The drive for monopoly is the reason behind such laws and ordinances that make it illegal to feed the homeless. I know how absurd it sounds, that it is illegal to feed the homeless in some cities, but it is. People have been prosecuted to the full extent of the law for feeding the homeless in America! There are dozens of laws, regulations and ordinances that make charitable work illegal in the United States. The history of such law is very short. Only recently have the elite been passing laws against good works. Such laws would have been unthinkable even half a century ago.

The rise of the welfare state is one of the main ways the government usurps the good works of civic organizations. Soup kitchens have been replaced by WIC, food stamps and aid to needy families. Government has forced out charitable organizations. Another way the elite in government profit from the welfare state is that it undermines the family unit making people more and more dependent on government. People don’t bite the hand that feeds them. Those who are dependent are malleable in thought, action and judgment. The welfare state has been a boon to the government’s drive for monopoly.

The government has changed the law to allow government the power to legally propagandize it’s citizens. It should be self evident to any reasoning person that government propaganda is not a tool of liberty but of tyranny. That the US government had to pass a law to propagandize the people shows how pernicious such a law is. There is no legitimate role of government to mold the minds of it’s citizens. Such a tool as propaganda is self serving to government and it’s narrow interests. Moreover, subtle pushes here and minor tweaks there, have the power to change morality, culture and thought itself… and we see that it has.

Today, government is the arbiter of morality, having appropriated the role of religion. Obama care, the affordable care act, has forced churches to choose to violate their faiths or violate the law. The courts have been chaotic about their rulings. Some find that government cannot force people to violate their faith while others have forced churches to undermine their core teachings. The sanctity of life for example. The slippery slope of government in the business of deciding morality can only lead to a chasm of immorality.

When someone is eating, I don’t have to be told they are eating, I can see it for myself. Even when they say, with a mouthful of food, they are not eating, I know they are. Just like when government slops at the trough of autocracy, while claiming they are only looking out for our best interests, the truth is obvious to anyone with open eyes. It is the same way with scam artists, who use subterfuge and misdirection to make their victims believe they are looking out for the best interests of their mark, even as they take the mark for everything. In the case of government everything is exactly what they demand and lust after. A monopoly on our thought, conscience and economy. Meanwhile we are awash in their clumsy attempts, the welfare state, laws forbidding good works, propaganda and government usurping morality. In their drive for monopoly, they are winning, while we are loosing. That is why government is waging a war on civic organizations… I wonder how much longer before we wake up and realize we have been taken? Far too late I am guessing.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Net Neutrality and the Corruption of Regulation

Thursday, March 5th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, if “net neutrality” was a standard, it would only require a page at most to explain it, it would be open to the public and would actually standardize access for new businesses, since it is over three hundred pages, is not available to the public, even for comment, and passed by the bureaucracy in darkness, shows it is regulation that should have been forcefully condemned by everyone. The unbiased media claim the regulation will force internet providers, like the politically disfavored firm Comcast, to allow all data to go through their networks without bias. Of course, that description only took one sentence. The regulation took over three hundred pages which can only make us ponder what else is in it? Furthermore, the regulation was and is not open to the public for review, so one must wonder, how does the unbiased media know anything at all about it? The government claims the regulation will help protect free speech… by regulating it. Because nothing is as free as when you have to get permission from government to do it. The only entity it seems that was allowed, not only to see the regulation, but change it to suit their needs… was Google. All of which illustrates the point I have made many times in my articles, that regulation is destructive of the market while standardization is helpful.

If the regulation was “neutral,” then why was the largest internet company on the planet, allowed to change it to suit their wants and needs? Proving it is not neutral but biased. Regulation, as I have said before, is by design a means for politically favored companies to avoid competition (crony capitalism), to give politically favored groups a leg up on an otherwise free interaction (state discrimination), protect politicians ambitions (enshrine political power) or to establish a politically favored company’s monopoly. Regulation never goes away it only gets more convoluted and destructive of market interactions as time goes on. Those who pass regulation don’t ever want people to understand what it is really for, so they always couch it in good sounding terms like, neutrality, when nothing could be further from the truth. But then again, truth has nothing to do with politics… does it?

A standard is simple to understand. All standards are this way, a gallon is a fixed amount, a mile is a fixed distance, HDTV is a fixed way of encoding video and sound, etc… A standard applies equally to everyone, and as such, is a benefit to the market. Confucius called it, rectifying terms. Imagine if a gallon was a regulation instead of a standard… How would that work, well a gallon of oil would be different from a gallon of milk which would vary depending on who the buyer was or the seller was. The volume of a gallon of water would vary depending on it’s purity content. The regulation of a gallon would run into the hundreds or thousands of pages of regulation… to protect the interests of politically favored people, groups and companies. Imagine how hard it would be to do business in liquids if that was the case? Every firm would need armies of accountants to comply with the regulation. That net neutrality took over three hundred pages is proof it is a regulation not a standard.

How does the media know… that which we are not allowed to know? Obama has prosecuted and jailed more whistle blowers than every other administration combined. His iron fisted hold on information is legendary. Since that is the case, how is it the unbiased media have information that is not in the public domain? …and are not being hounded for it, like Cheryl Atkinson? The only answer is, they are reporting press briefings on the regulation, and not on the actual content. They are merely parroting the propaganda that those who seek to regulate the internet want them to parrot. If the media took their station as the fourth estate seriously, they would verify the party line independently, that they didn’t, shows they are the willing dupes, or cronies, of nefarious government officials.

In what universe has regulation ever made anything more free? Regulation creates barriers to entry, it increases the cost of doing business, it requires government permission to do business, it crushes firms that are not politically favored and it drives up the cost of products and services. Regulation is the opposite of free, it is designed to regulate that which otherwise would be free! When government decides what you can and cannot say, is that more free or less free? Is an open forum where anyone can say anything they want, more or less free, than one where government permission is required first? When government decides what data is given priority, do you honestly think politically unfavored speech is going to be given equal access? Like the tax free status of Tea party groups under the IRS was protected by regulation?

Lastly, what grows in the dark of night… mold, fungus, bacteria and corruption, that is all. That Net Neutrality was written, passed and now is being implemented, in the dark of night, is proof enough it is corrupt, else the regulations would have been published for anyone to see and comment on. The only one to get a say is the giant internet company Google, and does anyone more than a year old, believe Google would change regulation to benefit it’s customers or competitors? Of course not! The changes Google put in the three hundred page regulation, was to benefit Google, at the cost to the public and it’s competition. Corruption piled upon corruption, and the unbiased media sang the party song, like the good little propagandists they are.

Perhaps standardization of access might be helpful but the debate would have to be open with everyone having a say before we knew. The final standard would have to be simple to understand and public knowledge. To now… the internet has been an open forum for anyone to access and get their message out. In that way the internet has been the most democratizing instrument ever devised by mankind. Now that the door has been opened to regulation, it will be used to protect those in political power, politically favored groups, people and businesses, while smothering the availability of information government doesn’t want out. Very soon there will be calls to license bloggers and internet sites, (if it isn’t already in the regulation), for the benefit of “openness.” Because nothing is more free than when government regulates it. Now that governments, the world over, are regulating the internet… the goose that laid the golden egg is being slaughtered, not for the gold inside, but to keep it from laying any more of those damnable golden eggs.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Insanity of the New Class…

Thursday, February 5th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, Obama is channeling Marx in his latest diatribe against technological growth. Along with the US President, the elite in the media chant the absurdity… that productivity innovations are bad. On Bloomberg radio yesterday, they were interviewing some CEO and the questions constantly turned to how the advance in technology is damaging the middle class, and that the reason wages are stagnant and dropping is because of the advances in productivity. The theme is that labor saving wipes out labor. To someone who is ignorant about economics that might sound logical, but it is in fact spurious logic… an argument made to sound logical but is in fact illogical and used to fool the listener. It is critically important to understand the truth behind this lie. Technological driven productivity gains are critical to an increasing standard of living. Moreover, the reason wages are stagnant and jobs are scarce in the US and around the world is that regulatory constraints on our economies have reached critical mass, and are melting down our economies.

Marx basic theme in his Manifesto was that the mechanical loom was going to drive everyone out of work. He said, “As the forest of arms looking for work grows ever thicker, while the arms themselves grow ever thinner…” Meaning the mechanical loom made the production of cloth so much less labor intensive, and most people worked in the textile industry at the time, mass starvation was just around the corner. That is essentially the exact argument Obama made about ATMs. Of course Marx was proven wrong in his assessment just as Obama is in his. The mechanical loom allowed the price of a wool coat to drop, (the evil deflation), so that the average worker could afford one! Imagine, the mechanical loom allowed a mere plebeian to wear a warm coat! Horrors! He didn’t have to stuff his shirt with straw to keep warm he could wear a warm coat!

The Bloomberg interviewer argued against the Schumpeter model, by saying that those workers in the buggy whip industry got jobs in Ford’s factories making much better wages with less taxing labor, but today, there are no new jobs for the laid off workers to go to. An ignorant argument at best and spurious at worst. The reason that wages are stagnant is that government policies, policies designed to protect the politically favored, are destroying the creation of small businesses. For the first time in US history the creation of small businesses is NEGATIVE!!! Let that sink in a moment, there are more small businesses going bankrupt… than are being created! Creative destruction needs, as a fundamental input, new businesses and new business models. Regulation, taxation and the lack of standards, have so undermined that fundamental aspect of a growing economy that small business creation is now negative.

There was a story in the media the other day about some kids walking from house to house in New Jersey shoveling driveways for spending money. I did that when I was a kid. It is a great way for children and young people to learn that labor creates wealth. In a market system that is an important lesson. In America today however, the police were called, and the kids counter revolutionary snow shoveling business was shut down by the state. There was another story recently about some kids setting up a lemonade stand, they were also shut down by the government, running afoul of some regulation. In a society where even children cannot shovel a driveway or set up a lemonade stand, without facing daunting regulation and a police investigation, how can any business get started?

Without new businesses, creative destruction is destroyed. Giant firms are not entrepreneurial, that is a basic law of economics. Large corporations are run by the new class, for the new class, and against the interests of employees, customers and shareholders. The very definition of the principle agent dilemma. Anything that threatens the status quo is to be feared. Those at the top of large corporations always pay lip service to entrepreneurial ideas, but when faced with the choice of striking out on a new path or staying on the old one, unless there is a large bonus in it for them, the old one is always preferred. That is why new ideas are implemented by entrepreneurial small businesses. If those new ideas are profitable those new small businesses grow to large ones and wealth is created, if not, the risk taker gets a haircut. That is why Capital expenditure is so low while mergers and acquisitions are so high.

The new class progressives have effectively wrested the economy from the Bourgeois, (shareholders and entrepreneurs). Large corporations are able to line the pockets of politicians to protect their businesses from competition. When they do face competition their response is telling of their utter incompetence. Blockbuster is a perfect example of this in action. When faced with competitors who provided a better product at a lower price point, Blockbuster would have preferred to regulate their competition out of business, but couldn’t because of public scrutiny, so they did the next best thing, they raised their prices and lowered the quality of their product… to maintain their profit margin. The new class executives got their bonuses. Of course in doing so, they ignored the basic mantra of any and all businesses, provide value to the customers else they will shop elsewhere. So, Blockbuster went bankrupt, wiping out the investments of the shareholders, screwing their employees and abandoning their customers. The only ones who made out were the new class executives who got their bonuses and new executive jobs.

It isn’t creative destruction that is broken, nor is it the market system, it is the nonsense of the new class, in academia, politics and business, that has broken our economy. Regulation, taxation and cronyism have combined to eliminate small business start ups. So much so that the creation of small businesses has turned negative. Creative destruction requires small businesses to implement the new ideas that every economy, everywhere need, to grow the standard of living of the people. The new class run the businesses they have wrested from the owners, for themselves, at cost to every other element of our population. When faced with competition, lowering price and raising quality are not even a consideration, raising prices and lowering quality are the norm now, to maintain the bonuses of the new class. Deflation, the normal course of price evolution in a market economy is attacked as evil, so government can continue it’s profligate spending, to hide the outcomes of their policies and their cronyism. The “journalists” at Bloomberg are inculcated in the new class way of thinking, as are the “journalists” of every other major news outlet, and so we get one unanimous voice, all agreeing creative destruction is dead and socialism is the way forward… forward into slavery. Just as Joesph Schumpeter predicted.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Pseudo Wars

Monday, November 10th, 2014

No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”
? James Madison

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, all the “wars” the US has engaged in as of late, are nothing but pseudo wars, not wars at all but a way to take away the liberty of the people. I am of course talking about the war on drugs, the war on poverty, the war on terror, the war on obesity, and so forth. These cannot be termed wars anymore than any other policy a government enters into to meet a non corporeal problem. War is violent, terrifying and expensive way to defeat a corporeal threat. Moreover, calling such things wars, lowers the brutal reality of what war is, and creates a situation where the elite can keep a nation in a state of perpetual war. The appointing of “Czars” to oversee these “wars” is more proof they are overtly a means to evolve us to tyranny, war has generals, Czars are despots. If we want to stop the slide to tyranny we must examine the ways the elite evolve a nation to despotism and demand they be stopped.

Let’s face facts, a war on fatty food is an unwinnable war, like a war on terror or a war on poverty, by their very definitions they cannot be won. It is impossible to eliminate fat from foods. Fat is an essential nutrient that provides the calories we need to live. Like anything that is good, when overused, like the term war, it leads to all sorts of bad consequences. To fight a war on the strategy of an enemy, so as to avoid naming that enemy, is as certain a way to loose the war with the unnamed enemy, as it is to loose the war on their strategy. Imagine how the Second World War would have turned out of the allies fought a war on Blitzkrieg instead of the Nazis. Poverty will always be with us it is a human condition. The definition shows how absurd it is to fight a war on poverty, poverty is the lowest ten percentile of a people, economically, it is a relevant statistic. Even if a government were to execute the poorest ten percent there would still be a poorest ten percent. Even if ninety nine percent of the population were executed there would still be relative poor!

Embarking on fictitious wars has the propaganda value of claiming the government is doing something about a perceived problem. The term war focuses the mind and implies all a nation’s might will be brought to bear on the problem. The leader who coins the war will be thought of as really caring, to be so adamant about fighting such and such a problem, that they go to war with it. The value is only to the politician who names it… not the people, government, society or culture, they are damaged by the “war” effort. Everyone but the politicians must give up some sovereignty, money and liberty to the politicians during times of war, and so a fictitious war is a way of prying our liberty’s and largess from us, not to achieve some excellent goal.

War cannot be fought against an idea, tactic, class or food, it can only be fought against an enemy nation by killing and maiming real human beings, and destroying the infrastructure that supports their war effort. Von Clausewitz said that war is politics by violence. No one wants our government to do violence to the poor, we already do violence to our food simply by eating it, and ideas cannot be suppressed by violence. Look at the Second World war again, it was supposed to be against fascism, but how many fascists nations did the US and Europe support during the Cold War? WWII was against the Axis powers of Germany, Japan, Hungary, Romania, Finland and Italy. Four of which were not fascists at all! The war was against those nations, not the tactics they used, not the food they ate and not the political systems of their various governments… the war was against those states, period.

War against an idea, tactic or some other nebulous “enemy” is an absurd distraction from solving a real problem. It gives the people the idea something substantial is being done, but in fact what is really being done is, the liberty of the people is being stolen. The propaganda of a war against a non corporeal enemy is effective at reducing a country to despotism through the costs of continual warfare and a war mindset. It does nothing to solve the problem the elite are ostensibly waging war against, but through a constant chipping away it destroys the wherewithal of a people, saps our resolve to meet actual existential threats, and the lack of any possible victory corrodes our self esteem. War can only be fought against corporeal enemies that can be killed, maimed, impoverished and thereby forced to knuckle under. Further, to wage war against an enemy’s tactic, to avoid naming that enemy, is a sure way to loose the war with that enemy. It is time to complain loudly and forcefully whenever our leaders claim we should launch into another war against a non corporeal enemy and stop the ones our leaders have pulled us into already. Else our lot and the lot of our children will be despotism and poverty.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Poison of Propaganda

Thursday, September 25th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, knowing propaganda is not the same thing as having knowledge. People who have been well indoctrinated in propaganda will stand on a rooftop and spout their pseudo knowledge with the certainty of a prophet. Most often those who think they know, will shout down someone who actually knows, because there is confidence in propaganda that is not available to those who actually understand the subject at hand. This is because actual knowledge requires an open mind, reasoned thought, observable reality and the evolution of knowledge, while propaganda gives a certainty that is not possible to someone with an open mind. Knowing the difference is critical if we are to seek knowledge and not fall victim to hucksters shilling propaganda.

Socialists, Marxists and progressives use propaganda like a poor Italian cook uses too much garlic. You can smell it on those that imbibe it. Propaganda is always offered as the end all truth. Anyone who has the audacity to offer a different opinion is vilified as promoting ignorance or as ignorant themselves. The propagandist will attack the person with an opposing view instead of addressing the arguments. That is because propaganda cannot stand up to open minded review while actual knowledge can.

The Enlightenment was about changing the source of knowledge from authority to observable reality. The propagandist eschews open debate for authority. You hear propagandists constantly referencing authority while claiming to be the rightful heirs of the Enlightenment. College professors are of this ilk. They stand in front of ignorant youths, (theoretically, that is why they are in college in the first place, to grow out of their ignorance), and teach them propaganda couched as truth, based totally upon the authority of the professor. This has become such a problem that colleges and universities have transformed into indoctrination centers for the new class progressive world view, real knowledge cannot be allowed, because it would alter the narrative that socialism is good and markets are bad, against all observations of history.

Global warming is the epitome of propagandist reasoning. The IPCC has been caught lying over and over, none of their predictions have come to pass and there is a ton of information available that counters their propaganda, but they rely on the false appeal to authority, “the science is settled.” Science is never settled, once the leading minds of the day were convinced light traveled through the “ether.” Today we know it doesn’t, because it is acts both a wave and a particle, which travels the same speed in any direction, all of which destroys the argument light travels through an “ether.” Real science is based on observation proving theory, in the global warming alarmist circles however, whenever observation goes against theory, it is observation that must be thrown out. We must instead rely on the self interested authority of the alarmists.

The youth are the most susceptible to propaganda. They haven’t the knowledge base or life experience to put into perspective the sweet lies that the propagandist feeds them. Since every one of us would rather believe a delectable lie rather than a bitter truth, propaganda that is appealing is well received by ignorant youths, as well as lazy minded adults. If you tell an old man that communism has never been tried, he will scoff at you and consider you an idiot propagandist, while an ignorant youth or lazy minded adult, will lap it up as though it was universal truth. In this case the poison of propaganda is sweet while the bitter truth of communism is hard to swallow.

By definition propaganda is false knowledge, or sophistry, that sounds reasonable but in fact is designed to trick people into making decisions that are not in their best interest. Otherwise why do it? Lacking life experience the youth are the most susceptible, but even lazy minded adults can be persuaded by propaganda, sometimes even when they know it is propaganda, because it is easier to just go along. The propagandist will make arguments based on partial truths mixed with many lies and backed by omissions. When they are caught in a lie they change the subject and their willing accomplices will vilify those who point out those lies. All showing that the propagandist despises the advances of the Enlightenment, and undermines it in the most pernicious ways, returning us to the dark ages of serfdom.

The bloody history of communism, socialism and progressivism shows all too well the results of mindlessly going along with propaganda. The progressive Woodrow Wilson and his eugenics movement led to the sterilization of thousands of American citizens against their wills, and provided the intellectual backstop for the Nazi eugenics based, final solution. The socialist Goebbels was the consummate propagandist, he used propaganda to put a ring in the nose of the German people, leading them to the most horrific slaughter of human beings the world has yet seen. Lenin used propaganda to enslave the Russian empire resulting in tens of millions of human beings, killed, tortured, sent to gulags and insane asylums. If we want to repeat that history, all that is required is to go along, if we wish to avoid such human suffering however, it is incumbent upon us to speak up and point out propaganda when we see it.

Hate Filled Progressives

Thursday, September 4th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, progressives are the very people they purport to hate, which points to the reason for their self loathing. Any time a conservative brings up the lack of school shootings, the lower crime rate, the better work ethic of the past, progressives claim the conservative really wants to return to slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, robber barons and rolling back woman’s suffrage. Of course that is the old tried and true method of spurious argumentation, by putting words in someone’s mouth they didn’t utter or believe, and argue against those words. It also points out that what the progressives claim to hate, bigotry, intolerance, the wealthy, the US and racism, is just part of a meme. Let’s call it the progressive hate meme. This meme plays out in the minds of progressives constantly and spreads like influenza. Hate however, is the most counter productive means to solve any problem, it is corrosive to the humanity of the hater and the person hated.

Bigotry is one of the things progressives rail about the most. They really hate bigots. A progressive will scream red faced all day about how bigoted everyone in the Tea Party is. Progressives love to go on and on how terrible it is that law enforcement would profile people, anyone who puts people in a box, they argue, is a bigot and therefore a bad person. Yet progressives put everyone in a box! They separate us into groups and factions then pit us against each other. Claiming everyone in an arbitrary grouping has the exact same qualities is the very definition of a bigot.

Progressives cannot tolerate intolerance. They are quick to point out that someone who they disagree with is an intolerant hater, and so the “hater” should have their free speech curtailed, so they don’t lead others astray. Progressives love to use epithets like intolerance to shut down debate they cannot win. They will go to the utmost extreme to get a Koresh removed from a park or a cross taken down from a hill, because it is so intolerable to them, they simply cannot tolerate Christian symbols in the open. A progressive will move heaven and Earth to get a CEO who made a donation to a charity or political campaign they disagree with fired, because any other perspective than the progressive’s, cannot be tolerated.

Oh boy do progressive hate the rich! Well, not the already rich, but people trying to get rich. The propaganda against the “rich” is as hostile as it is sophist. Those uber rich who support progressive causes are considered the “good” rich and those very few who support our Constitution are the “bad” rich. What is always lost on the progressive, is that they are mostly members of the New Class and as such, make up 90% the top 10% on the wealth scale. George Soros gives billions to the Tides foundation and the Center for American Progress, among many others, he has bankrupted whole nations resulting in famine, economic collapse and want, and never gets attacked for his donations in the unbiased media… but the Koch brothers are demonized, even in the halls of power, for favoring our Constitution.

Progressives constantly rail about inequality. They demand everyone be equal, well, not equal so much as have the same stuff, except for them. Like, Obama eats the best food but begrudges it for our children and us, they spend millions of our tax dollars on vacations but tell us to cut back, the hypocrisy they show is astounding. A progressive sees nothing wrong with going to a $10,000.00 a plate dinner, to raise funds for another progressive who will stomp down inequality with regulation, while never donating a single cent to charity.

Racism is one of the progressive’s biggest bug bears. They hate Tea party members, ostensibly because all Tea party members are racists, which is of course a bigoted way of thinking. Even a cursory examination of progressive rhetoric shows who the real racists are. Progressives claim all white people are racists. You know, those bitter clingers, clinging to “their” guns and religion, in other words, typical white people.

If we look back at history and the progressive heroes the loop closes. Margaret Sanger so hated African Americans she started Planned Parenthood to exterminate them. The first ever showing of “The Rise of a Nation” was played in Woodrow Wilson’s white house! Speaking of the progressive Wilson, he also penned many letters and articles explaining why women are inferior to men, the attributes of the “lesser races” among other topics modern progressives claim to hate. But they love him. Eugenics, as practiced by Hitler, was based on the progressive eugenics movement in the US. The progressive movement metastasizes every few decades and destroys our economy, standard of living, gins up hatred and civil unrest, the results of their policies are always so bad they destroy the progressive name, so the movement goes underground, rebranding themselves as “liberals,” until people who remember what the progressives stand for are all dead. Then they come back, hating everything they stand, (stood) for, and tricking another generation into thinking they are human hearted, when nothing could be further from the truth. Progressives truly are the very people they claim to hate and have always been. The really scary thing is… both political parties in the US are run by self loathing progressives.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Crime Reporting’s Effects

Monday, June 3rd, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, we are being trained to fear that which is less dangerous, and to embrace that which is more dangerous. Just as, to so fear water… that you turn and face a lion, is a sure way to a short life, turning from a mundane danger to an existential threat is suicidal. Rational people don’t readily make this type of emotional and intellectual move unless we are tricked into it. Our own sense of self protection, inhibits us from putting ourselves and our children into greater danger, to avoid a lesser danger. Yet if we continue following the elite without even glancing around, that is exactly what we are doing… embracing lava, for fear of hot wax.

Every time the unbiased media show a news story of a civil murder or other violent crime our perception is that our fellow man is dangerous. The more often these stories are shown to us the more fearful we become of our brothers. This holds true even if the actual amount of violent crime is down both as a percentage of population or in totality. The more we are told, other people are dangerous and only want to do us harm, the more we believe it. This is not to say that other people cannot be dangerous or that crime never happens, it is to say, our perception of the frequency is heightened when we are shown it more often. Since there is always violent crime there will always be some to show.

We are told both explicitly and implicitly that the answer to all the violence in our society is more regulation and more laws. If only this or that law was passed crime would go down. But, as I have explained above, even if crime does go down, but we are shown more examples, we will become more worried about it and more pliant to greater government intrusions in our lives, “to keep us safer.” The unbiased media don’t have to be explicitly involved however their complicity can be implicit. As the old saw goes, “if it bleeds it leads,” shows why violent news stories are always so prevalent, they are in demand. We have a prurient interest in societal violence. This is used against our own liberty whether we know it or not. So it is best to know it.

If a business has a camera on it’s premises to prevent theft or even predict what a consumer will want, is no intrusion on privacy because it is on private property, which you and I can boycott if we find it obnoxious. The private property owner has an economic incentive to have people at his or her business, and providing a safe, helpful environment is part of meeting that incentive. Government however, cannot be boycotted, it is everywhere all the time. There is no escaping government. The pro government argument goes… If only we had a government camera on every street corner crime would go down. The media shows murders happen often in front yards and… we take the next step down the slippery slope, why not at everyone’s front door… Eventually leading to, why would the honest citizen care if his phone is listened to by the government, it is for his own good.

Statistically, over the last thousand years, you and I are far more likely to be killed by our own or another government, than by any common criminal. I have seen one example where it is estimated 20 people are killed by their own governments, whether by famine, genocide, war or a myriad of other imaginative ways, to 1 person killed by a jealous husband, armed robber or other common criminal… in the last century. Yet, despite these facts, most people are more in fear of our neighbors and passersby, than we are of government. In that irrational fear we turn from the less dangerous to the more dangerous.

We are being trained to fear the mundane menace and to embrace the existential threat. Crime reporting is the propaganda arm of this effort. The more we see violence on television them more we fear each other. Our increasing fear of one another makes us emotionally react, turning to government, as a way to be safe. By doing this we loose sight of the fact we are in far more danger from our government than we are from crime. Our unmeasured emotional reaction makes us run from possible crime to certain oppression. A measured reaction however…

Sincerely,

John Pepin
