The Rising Tide of Censorship

Thursday, November 24th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the desire to censor is inherent in all who would be tyrants, while those who seek to limit government care little what fools may say. To want to be a tyrant is as human as wanting a significant other, human history proves nothing if not that there are those people who seek to tyrannize others, moreover, those who seek to tyrannize others don’t go for janitor jobs, they seek power, government appeals to them and they never seek to leave it’s comfy bosom. The few who seek to limit the power of government usually come from outside government, planning on returning to private life after government, and so they have a goal and an end in sight. When someone plans to spend their life at the teat of government, they are very afraid someone might force them off it and into the harsh reality of life, while those who plan on leaving the government’s warm embrace have nothing to fear. Clearly those who fear will go to extremes where someone without that fear is heedless. So it follows, those who desire political power over the lives of others will resort to the extreme measure of censorship while those who seek to limit the power of evil men over us will not.

A glance at world leaders is pretty enlightening in this context. The European Union is a wealth of examples proving the theory that tyrants prefer to censor while libertarians prefer open communication. Take Angela Merkel, she has glomed onto politics, like tar to road, there is no getting her out of it. Since she is running for a fourth term, or is it her fifth term? Hard to keep it straight since she has been in power in Germany for a whole generation. Clearly Angela Merkel has no plans on ever voluntarily leaving the safety of the government’s nourishing breast. She cannot possibly be so stupid she doesn’t know what she is doing to the German people, which only leaves us to conclude she is intentionally committing genocide against the German people. With the world she, Obama, Putin, Holland and other world leaders have created, ablaze all around us. Christian and Yazidi genocide under their watch, along with violence spreading across the Middle East and North Africa, like a wild fire. Now her top priority is to shut up what she defines as “fake news?!” Could there be a better possible definition of the person I am talking about here than her? Perhaps Obama, Hillary, Holland, etc…

Today I read the Hillary people are claiming she should challenge the vote count because they have found statistical possibility of vote fraud! Really, you couldn’t make this up no one would ever, ever believe you. With all the effort Obama and the democrat party did to ensure a strong dead turnout, busing voters precinct to precinct as well as an overwhelming amount of illegal alien ballots, to put Hillary over the edge. So far Hillary has declined to file any lawsuits… because they would find her side had done the vote fraud! Meanwhile, her surrogates in the bought and paid for unbiased media, are calling for outright censorship of everyone but themselves. No matter that wikileaks released dozens of emails showing collusion between individual reporters as well as editorial staffs of major media outlets, that call themselves unbiased. In truth, the major media that is calling for the banning of “fake” news sites are the very ones who have been caught red handed, passing yellow journalism as unbiased!

Let’s face it, censorship is a beautiful thing, if you are the censor. You can shut up even the most common sense argument by force of law, convention or shaming, leaving your message the only one anyone can hear. At it’s most diabolical it is a means to change people’s very thoughts. Thought control being a long sought goal of tyrants throughout the ages. Because that is exactly what censorship is all about, thought control. If the censor can control what you “know” then they control the parameters of what you can think. If you have never heard of a wheel… how many of us would think about them? Action follows thought. If a tyrant wants to control our actions then control of our very private thought is the best way, censorship is that means, as are hate crimes and any other law that is based on a thought rather than an action.

Since the desire to censor is inherent in the desire to control others, while that need is absent in those who seek less government power, we can say that those who seek censorship are the ones who want to be tyrants, while those who don’t care what others say don’t. From this we can say that political leaders, like Angela Merkel, who seek to censor others also seek tyranny. Tyrants never seek tyranny to improve the lot of Man but to lower it, as the example of Angela Merkel shows. Those who covet political power will cross any bridge, and if denied that power will burn it, as Hillary Clinton has and is. The most magnetic quality of censorship to the tyrant is it’s ability to control thought. Such control is the Eldorado of all tyrants everywhere and at all times. If we then want less government power over us, we have to recognize those who seek to be tyrants and do everything in our power to deny them that power, it is in our self interest rightly understood.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Post Election Riots

Monday, November 14th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the violence we are seeing by progressives in our major cities is a result of fear, fear that Trump will abuse his political power as their man Obama did. Obama used every aspect of government to promote his ideology and destroy anyone who disagreed with him. Even Obama’s rhetoric foretold who he is, instead of calling conservatives the opposition, Obama called people enemies, rather than dialogue Obama vilified the loyal opposition, when Tea Party groups sought tax free status the Obama IRS denied them, Obama used taxpayer money to campaign for Clinton and himself in 2012, conservatives regularly get audited and some vocal conservatives get audited every year, Obama went around congress over and over, even signing a treaty with Iran, giving them a path to nuclear weapons without going to the Senate as the Constitution requires, in short Obama used every dirty trick in Alinsky’s book to grab and hold political power, and the progressives are worried Trump will do the same to them.

Fear is a powerful motivator. A person who is afraid will walk through fire and to a progressive loss of political power is terrifying. To a progressive, government is everything, mother, father, sister and brother, government is the means to all ends and is the best bludgeon there is. Progressives see government as the ultimate arbiter of right and wrong, and those who wield that political power as having the ability to decide, what is right and what is wrong. Since progressives are atheists at heart they have no concept of a greater moral code, the code the US was founded on, instead they see only a political code. Rights are, to a progressive, only those things the government allows the people to do, and if government changes it’s mind, the rights change as well. As a result, progressives feel real terror when they are not in charge, the terror that someone will use their own tactics against them.

I predicted progressives would become violent if Trump won and my prediction has been validated by progressives themselves. Daily riots are the norm in almost every major city in the US today because of progressive fear. To predict a cat will chase a mouse is no great feat and to predict progressives will become violent isn’t either. Since progressive ideology is based on hate, anger, and envy, and is implemented by government violence, it only follows progressives will become violent anytime they believe they can get away with it. Hate is their core emotion, envy is their primary motivator and anger is the horse they ride in on, making Violence the essence of progressivism.

Funded by billionaires like George Soros, these progressive organizations have the deep pockets to hire rioters, bus drivers and lawyers to foment violence and frustrate the legal establishment’s attempts to quell it. Instead of winding down, as anger usually does in time, these mobs are getting more violent and destructive. Until the racketeers have been arrested shutting off the flow of funds to the rioters, plan on seeing them get further out of hand until marshal law is imposed. Which is of course the plan, impose martial law and negate the election results. I guess if someone has enough money they are above the law, as Soros has proven over and over again, like when he beat his 19 year old girlfriend up badly, and she went to the NYC police, who turned her away! Progressives don’t believe in the rule of law because to them, it is merely the will of those in charge, and never part of a greater moral code.

The fear that progressive feel is in some ways justified. Trump has shown himself to be a man who holds grudges. Look how Trump went continued to go after Cruz after Cruz ceded victory to Trump in the primaries. This should be a warning to all progressives that Trump is a man who will exact revenge. Since Obama has created so many precedents to abuse Presidential power, for a political end, to harm enemies and help friends, all Trump need do is follow in Obama’s footsteps. There were no consequences for Obama and there probably will not be for Trump who is only doing what his predecessor did. Progressive organizations may have a much harder time getting tax free status, progressive news outlets may find themselves being audited, they might find their FBI files have been used to get a lever on them, they might find a government purge sweeps them from their beloved bureaucracy and they might discover their reliable allies in the media turning on them in fear of Trump. Indeed progressives have no one to blame but themselves.

Progressives created the environment where political power is the ultimate arbiter of right and wrong, they have devolved our system of government so that rights come from government, they used mean spirited rhetoric to slander their opponents and rather then debate a point resorted to personal attacks. They used the tactics of Saul Alinsky, who dedicated his book ‘Rules for Radicals’ to Satan. Progressives gleefully tried to destroy anyone who disagreed with their plans, personally and vindictively, in fact progressives created the very system and atmosphere they now fear, which explains the old saying, be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

John Pepin

Meritocracy and Corruptocracy

Monday, October 31st, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, once government corruption has reached such levels the corpus political bursts open revealing all the corruption inside, and the people are not revolted, that is when we have become a “Corruptocracy.” The utterly and openly corrupt in power, ruling by corruption to satisfy their own corrupt wants and pay their corrupt cronies, to keep them in power. A Corruptocracy can exist under any system of government, it’s primary attribute is the widespread acceptance of corruption, and so it is not a system of government but a environmental factor. The environment in which government exists could be meritocracy, (the rule by those who merit it), but those occasions are rare, because there is no incentive for meritocracy to start and meritocracy corrodes itself. When you look at our government, the vote rigging, the double standard, arbitrary application of law, open antipathy for our Constitution and outright corruption, would you characterize our government as a Meritocracy or Corruptocracy?

There is a story about an African king who was under Roman rule. His people hated him, he so abused his people he brought them near to riot, until the Roman governor had to step in and arrest the African king, sending him to Rome for trial. Upon reaching Rome the African king started paying bribes to all the people in power. When his trial came he was immediately acquitted. When he returned to rule his home country he abused his people all the more and was arrested again. The cycle happened several times until the African king, shaking off the dust of Rome from his sandals for the fifth time said, If only one were rich enough the Romans would sell their very city… Rome had become a Corruptocracy. So you see, there have been Corruptocracies throughout human history and under many systems of government.

Think about various ecologic systems for a moment. Some are rife with vegetation, a plethora of plants and an abundance of animals. The well being of which depends on the environmental factors. As a desert gets less rain than a rain forest, an arctic tundra is colder than a jungle and so produce different types of flora and fauna, and verdancy (environmental prosperity), economic environments are different producing different type of enterprises as well as different levels of prosperity. Economies have different levels of taxation, regulation, culture, infrastructure, population, demographics, work ethic, rate of natural disasters, access to sea ports… and corruption. Corruption, especially when it has reached the point where the economic and political systems have become corruptocracies, stifles new growth in favor of old rotten existing growth. It is like sacrificing babies so old people can live longer. Forfeiting vitality for infirmity.

Meritocracy is an economic and political environment where people get what they merit. To put it another way, people get what they deserve, those who are smart, hard working and creative get ahead, generating incentives for everyone to be smart, creative and hard working because that will get them ahead. Unfortunately, the congenital nature of man is evil, the good in us a learned trait, which is why, to put it as Schumpeter did… once someone get to the top the first thing they try to do is close the door behind them. If there is no penalty for it, as in government, the door will be closed creating conditions for corruption to grow and stratifying society into haves and have nots, but if there is a penalty, as in the business world absent of cronyism, or in some military services, excellence becomes the norm. So Meritocracy, while a means for rapid rise in the standard of living, has within it the means and incentive for it’s own destruction.

Corruptocracy is the result of Aristotle’s wrong forms of government, tyranny, oligarchy and democracy, gone too far, and has been with us since time immemorial. Since it is in our nature to become corrupt in the absence of penalty for bad behavior, and the greater the stakes the more the incentive to push the boundaries, there is always a tug towards corruption. Meritocracy, while an excellent environment for economies and government to flourish, has within it the seeds of it’s own destruction. So the question remains, looking at the political and economical landscape which we find ourselves today, our political candidates, the incentives around us, our culture, the media, crime rates, racial harmony, the whittling away of liberty, etc… would you say we live in a Corruptocracy?

Sincerely,

Secrets

Thursday, October 27th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, to argue national defense is sufficient cause for a secret, is to argue suicide is necessary for cancer prevention. After all, there is not one secret the US or any other government has, that is not known by other governments, so in reality, when government classifies something secret, they are merely keeping it from citizens, not foreign governments, so, to claim a thing needs to be secret for national security is absurd. The only people who are unable to know what our governments are doing are the people themselves. Look at the “secrets” wikileaks has released, none of them put a single American in jeopardy, the only things threatened are the elite’s machinations. Snowden’s release of information shows how our government violates our Constitution and that is why he is under indictment. In a limited republic that guarantees liberty for it’s citizens, everything government does would be available for any citizen to see. The only thing that grows in darkness is corruption and we have more than a sufficient supply of that.

If government only did what it is supposed to, protect people and property from those who would abuse or abscond, is the only legitimate role of government…. In other words, the police and army. Other things that can be argued are right roles of government are, printing money, building roads and infrastructure, settling disputes between citizens, setting standards and defining governmental boarders. These other roles however, have often been done by citizens themselves, usually better and cheaper. When government sticks to it’s legitimate role it need not maintain thousands of bureaucrats administering government. The more illegitimate roles government takes up… the more things it decides need to be secret. It is the pervasive and ever growing secret state that is a sign that government has breached it’s banks and is flooding the country with red tape and taxes.

When government takes on clearly illegitimate roles like “helping” American industry, the need for secrets grows. As our government gets in bed with tyrants the need for secrets grows, the more illegal activities our government engages in, the more they need to keep secrets, the more powerful government grows the more need for secrets, the more controlling it becomes the more it needs its secrets and the more government monitors the people the more it needs to hide what it is doing. All from the people, not other governments, who have spies to insure they know all there is to know about our government’s secrets, but the citizens whom the government is supposed to serve live in darkness. So the people government is keeping secrets from are the people themselves.

Why keep secrets from citizens? Because government knows what it is doing is wrong. Instead of protecting people’s Rights, lives and property, government has become the biggest threat to our lives, Rights and property. The modern government has as it’s core philosophy, everything within it’s boundaries are the government’s property, the land, houses, cars, factories, and even the people themselves. That which we are allowed to keep is out of government’s beneficence. This is made clear whenever taxes are brought up. The argument is based on the premise all income belongs to government. When that is your mindset, you have to keep it secret from the people you consider your slaves, else they might get uppity.

Of course there will always need to be spies. They are an arm of the army and as such help government meet it’s core role of protecting the people. The amount of secrets however exceeds mere spy craft by orders of magnitude. Plus, why keep the findings of spies on our enemies, secret? Shaming enemy nations should be a legitimate role of spies. Sadly, governments are far more concerned about spying on their own citizens than on potential invading armies. The need for secrets is a sure sign government is grown beyond it’s legitimate role. Everything government does should be freely available to any citizen that asks for it. The Freedom of Information act is a first step but falls short. Every legislators office should have a camera and microphone installed that stream to the internet, the President’s office should be monitored the same way, judges chambers should be recorded and the recording released to the public the day that judge casts his or her decision. Every trade deal should be open to anyone to see, every regulation should be read by the people, every document created by government using tax dollars should be available to the people who paid those taxes, not one aspect of government should be hidden from the people who government is supposed to serve. The more secrets a government has, the more it needs them, because that government is doing something it is not supposed to.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Liars, Propaganda, and Free Speech

Monday, October 17th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, those who peddle lies, cannot abide free speech. The first thing a liar will tell you is how truthful he or she is. Exclaiming from the rooftops how honest and how trustworthy they are. The consummate liar will never admit she lied even when caught in it. Since there is such coercive power in government… liars naturally gravitate to it. Government’s ability to tell a lie and claim it is truth, by fiat and legislation, is very attractive to a liar and is both a means for government, and the liars within it, to amass more power and defend it’s ill gotten rule. One thing that allows a liar to get away with his lies is a willing and complicit media. When there is the convergence of a complicit media and bold faced liars in government, all within the same faction, free speech becomes detestable to them, and is under great threat of extermination.

The single faction that controls all three branches of government, the media, businesses and set our civilizational norms, is the new class. The new class is our modern version of aristocracy. Instead of birthright, yet, the modern aristocracy, new class, is based on education. University professors are the intellectuals of the new class, and lawyers, journalists, doctors, business executives and most politicians are the intelligentsia. The professors, intellectuals, set the agenda and the rest, intelligentsia, bring it about. The new class has wrested the means of production from the bourgeoisie, overwhelmed the culture with their version of reality, undermined our limited government by conniving and warped our culture with perversion. They are mostly progressives who cling to the Frankfurt schools ideology, and apply Herbert Marcuse’s theories how to implement Marxism without the revolution, ie, by hook and by crook. The new class, as a faction, has as it’s main philosophy critical theory, where truth is to be subverted, families are to be destroyed, religion is to be ridiculed and hedonism is to be embraced, as a means to destroy everything western free enterprise has created… all based on lies.

There was a show on NBR, (National Public Radio), called On the Media. On that show the new class overlords of the media, discuss their power to effect culture, society and policy. I used to listen to it. When I listened, the theme of every show invariably was, the media should claim to be unbiased, that even if they are biased they must hide it, to “protect journalism.” In other words, lying to protect their reputations and lies. Have you noticed how the media always claims it is unbiased? How they tell the unvarnished truth and exclaim from the rooftops how honest and righteous they are? All of which, claiming to be unbiased, shouting down their detractors with ad homonym attacks, loudly claiming to be truthful and never admitting when they are caught in a lie, are how liars operate.

Free speech is corrosive to lies. Wherever there is freedom of speech, liars have to compete with truth tellers, for the eyes, ears and minds of the people they are trying to round up and capture. Freedom of speech allows people to dispel the lies. Remember when Dan Rather conjured up a story out of whole cloth describing how George Bush was AWOL constantly during his time in the National Guard? It was a blogger who pointed out the document, Rather and CBS was peddling couldn’t have been typed in a 1967 typewriter, since the font hadn’t been invented until the 1980s. Dan Rather to this day claims he wasn’t lying! The New York Times has been caught so many times creating outright fiction and publishing it as true that it should be considered in the same vein as Arthur C Clark, Henry James and Ernest Hemingway… interesting reading but pure fiction.

Propaganda is government lying to forward a political agenda. Today propaganda has been made legal by the US Congress and signed into law by Obama. In other words, the US government has openly avowed they will lie to us to get us to act against our best interests. The idealized new class President, Barak Obama, shows open loathing for free speech, instead preferring propaganda. Remember Fast and Furious? Obama used naked propaganda to undermine the second amendment… by claiming gun dealers along the US Mexico boarder were supplying weapons to Mexican drug cartels. When he was caught in supplying those weapons himself, the propaganda putsch to outlaw guns along the US Mexico boarder was hushed up, and the lie he peddled was insistently forgotten… proving Machiavelli right. Hillary Clinton has learned well from her husband Bill that lies, no matter how absurd, will be believed if told with a straight face and a tear running down one cheek. Propaganda is a tool of liars and cannot tolerate free speech.

Those who peddle lies shrivel and wither in the light of truth… like a worm on hot pavement. To them, lies are a means to fool the masses into acting against our best interests, and forwarding their diabolical agenda. Happily using the tool of Goebbels, propaganda, to the same ends. One can reliably tell a liar by how loudly and adamantly they claim to be honest. Today the new class, the heirs of national socialism, Marxist ideology, atheistic hedonism and Nietzsche, have as their only real enemy the truth, and they will use deceit at every turn to undermine that enemy. They will do anything to progress the human race to their vision of utopia… a place without the love and nurturing of families, the stark hopelessness of atheism, the emptiness of hedonism and the self absorption of Nietzsche’s super man. All based on lies.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Voting Dead…

Thursday, September 29th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the one thing that gives any governmental unit true authority… is the consent of the people, absent that consent, government has no real authority and the power it wields is mere usurpation. The way government gets the consent of the people is by the electoral process. If that electoral process is undermined, whether the people know it or not, consent is not given. Therefore, any government, or faction that seeks to undermine the democratic process, is unjustly assuming power. Moreover, anyone who seeks to govern without the consent of the governed, especially where that consent is artificially created, is engaging in the most heinous kind of crime. Crime that is far worse than stealing, abuse and even murder, because the very lives, liberty and property of everyone is at risk. In other words… The single crime from which tyranny flows in the modern world, is vote fraud.

Vote fraud usually comes from hubris and presumption. Those who engage in vote fraud have the hubris to fool themselves into believing their cause is the most just and presumption in they presume to know what is best for everyone else. They see their own arguments close at hand while they see the arguments of others at a distance, crediting themselves, as we all do, with the most enlightened wisdom, they willingly pervert the electoral process to benefit their preferred faction… themselves. Hubris and presumption are the natural result of misplaced pride.

Some people believe themselves to be smarter, wiser and more caring than everyone else, this is especially true of people with college degrees. They consider themselves smarter than everyone else because they went to college. If they find they are incapable of holding a job, it cannot be because of any deficiency in themselves, the system must be wrong, after all, they are smarter than the rest of us who do have jobs. So they gravitate to socialism, with themselves as the rightful leaders, in this violence is acceptable but if that isn’t viable, vote fraud becomes thinkable. Since they see themselves as more deserving and caring than everyone else, they appoint themselves as the master who forces all those other uncaring louts to provide for the less fortunate. If they personally benefit, what is the harm, aren’t they the most deserving anyway?

People have an amazing ability to justify their actions in their own minds. Psychologists call this cognitive dissonance. If a person treats you badly, even if by accident, their opinion of you goes down… they like you less. That is because since they treated you badly, in their mind’s eye, either they are bad for treating a good person badly, else you are bad and deserve it. Since no one believes themselves bad the fall back is always that you are bad. This concept can be applied to vote fraud, in that someone who believes their cause just and themselves wise, engages in vote fraud, they must believe others who seek free and fair elections are bad people, otherwise the fraudster is bad, plus those others don’t see what they see or care like they care. Even the voters themselves are seen as less than human to people who manipulate the vote through fraud. Otherwise, those who pervert the electoral process would be bad, and cognitive dissonance forbids that.

This is why efforts to stem vote fraud are met with such vehemence, vitriol and violence. Anything that limits their ability to pervert democracy to their own ends cannot be allowed to stand. Anyone who wants free and fair elections must be personally destroyed else society might not go the way the self appointed masters think it should. Moreover, people who seek the honest consent of the governed must be ignorant, since fraudsters are so much smarter, wiser and more caring than the hoi polloi. You can reliably tell who is in favor of vote fraud by how they react to efforts to stem it. Their silence at obvious vote fraud screams they consider the people fools to be manipulated and trod underfoot. When a district votes 100% for one candidate, and turnout is 120% of the registered voters, or dead people have come back to life simply to cast a ballot, clearly either the laws of physics has been upended, or vote fraud on a large scale has taken place. Those who find identification to vote obnoxious are those who seek to pervert democracy to their own ends. Of all the crimes, vote fraud has the potential to result in human suffering far greater than even murder, and should be treated as such.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Our Unjust World

Monday, September 26th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, a simple working definition of justice, is to treat everyone equally, but a more nuanced definition is, to equally treat people as they deserve to be treated. Just as you would not trust a thief to watch your home, or a child molester to watch your child, most anyone would trust a saint to watch either. It is not that they are treated differently, but they are treated as they deserve, should the saint become a thief or a child molester, our treatment of them would change to reflect what they deserve. Justice demands all people be treated as they merit, equally and without discrimination. In the end, the person who is a villain should be treated as a villain, and the saint should be treated as a saint. Sadly, in this world those who are powerful are always held to the lowest standard of conduct, no matter what their actions merit, while those of low station are always held to the highest standard of conduct, regardless of their virtuous actions, due to their ability to damage or help us. This is a violation of justice. The way justice determines merit, is by our actions, not our station, race or religion.

We live in a time where justice is unknown. The news is full of examples where villains are praised and heroes are attacked… injustice is called justice. When a thug with a long history of violence threatens a police officer with a gun, and is shot by that police officer, popular culture credits the thug with every virtue known to man, while the police officer is vilified, leading to other thugs rioting, destroying property, stealing and worst of all, attacking innocent people simply because of their race. Instead of justice, where those thugs would be rounded up, tried and if found guilty, serve long jail sentences, they are given a pass, ostensibly because of their race, but in reality because the violence forwards the agenda of the political faction in power.

Who can claim it just, that a politician is caught red handed destroying evidence that implicates her in allowing top secret material to fall into the hands of our enemies, walks free, even as lowly navy personnel are charged and jailed for far far less? Moreover, it would appear that US secrets are known by everyone, including our mortal enemies… but not the people. If people are treated as they merit, by their actions, not by their political affiliation or power, we would see many politicians going to jail and few junior officers languishing in Leavenworth. Justice does not brooch unequal treatment and is not based on political standing, it is based on merit, for good or bad.

How can anyone look at you with a straight face and say the non punishment meted out to the CEO of Wells Fargo is just? We all know that the culture of any group, organization or company comes from the top. People go where leaders lead. If the culture of Wells Fargo was such that lowly employees were opening millions of fraudulent accounts, to pad the profits of the company, that culture came from the top. Add to that, over five thousand employees were fired for it, yet not one has been prosecuted despite the serious nature of the crime, and a blind man can see the injustice. Those who are punished are the shareholders of Wells Fargo, who had no hand in the crime but are paying the price, in a diminishment of their stock values, stocks they paid for with hard earned money and rely on for their retirement. The other people punished are the customers who were harmed, while the government gets a windfall, and the employees who have done no wrong but who’s careers are jeopardized by the culture of Wells Fargo.

People have an innate justice meter, we know when an injustice is done, and we react accordingly. If our ability to act is hemmed in by government power, if in fact, that injustice is promoted by government…then we loose faith in the system, our stake in society is eroded and we will act unjustly ourselves, anytime we believe we can get away with it. Naked injustice then is the means for a society to fall into chaos, violence and poverty. The facts are clear and they stare us in the face. Everywhere we look there is violence, on our streets, in our schools and at our places of business. Poverty is on the rise like never before since the industrial revolution, while the elite profit from their crimes. The world our forefathers have built and we have been blessed with, is crumbling around our heads and ears, all because, as we know in our hearts… people are not treated as they deserve.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The War of Ideas

Monday, September 19th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, we live in a world of competing ideas, America is an idea, justice is an idea, socialism is an idea, Islamism is an idea, gender fluidity is an idea, limited government is an idea, etc… these ideas compete for the minds of people. As in any competition it is not the best who wins but the most zealous. If the adherents of an idea are willing to do whatever it takes to forward their idea, then that idea will become widespread, if the adherents of an idea are wishy washy, that idea will loose ground. The battleground for these competing ideas is the media, schools, universities, cafes, bars and any other forum in which people communicate. The goal line is the zeitgeist. The ideas that permeate the zeitgeist best become widespread and either visit evil or good on humanity. It is important to note, the goodness or badness of an idea has little or no merit in the strength or weakness of that idea, the strength of an idea comes from the intensity of belief of that idea, in the minds of those who take it to be truth. If we seek goodness, then we must grab those ideas that are good and let go of those that are bad, in this we have history and common sense as guides, yet the power of many bad ideas is such that they cannot be easily let go of. As self interested rational maximizers however, it is our ability to reason that has allowed any good ideas at all to survive, against the magnetic pull of evil.

Bad ideas, or ideas that result in human suffering, have an innate pull. They always promise power wealth and prestige for those who hold fast to them. Think about the pull of socialism for a moment. It promises wealth to everyone, it claims to be a form of fairness and it pretends to be about love, (applying to emotion) but most of all, socialism gives unlimited power to those who will run the socialist state, (applying to self interest). To anyone who favors socialism, it is that unlimited power that is the magnet that provides the attraction. Every socialist wants to be the one who runs the socialist state. That is why whenever the dismal history of socialism and Marxism is brought up, the socialist will claim true socialism has never been tried, else that the “wrong” people were in charge then, the obvious connotation is that if they were in charge things would have gone much differently. Bad ideas have an innate pull to people who lust after power.

When someone is so certain of the idea they espouse they are willing to do violence to force others to believe and to stop others from abandoning that idea. The NAZI party was all too willing to visit evil on anyone who didn’t hold their ideas. They waged war against every other political faction in Germany at the time until all the rest were subjugated. Then the NAZIS went on to wage a bloody war of conquest across Europe and north Africa to further their idea of national socialism. The NAZIS are not alone in their willingness to do violence to forward their idea. The willingness to do violence in the name of an idea is a strong indication that idea is bad. If an idea requires the evil of violence to spread, that idea is evil. Evil ideas must be withstood at all costs else evil will become widespread.

Good ideas however don’t promise power, wealth or prestige for a faction, person or group, they offers good to everyone, and in that way good ideas have less power over the minds of those who take them to be truth. Limited government offers no incentive to someone who seek power over others, and so those who believe in limited government don’t have personal gain in believing in limited government, so limited government is an idea that while good, has little pull on the minds of people. The idea of America, the land of opportunity and of the free, has a strong pull to those who live in poverty or oppression, but once a person gets to America, other ideas become more attractive. Preferential treatment by political force is much easier than hard work, and so it often replaces the idea of “America,” once an immigrant comes here. The result is that people move to a place for freedom and opportunity then try mightily to turn it into a place of no opportunity and oppression.

It is in talking that we promote or denigrate ideas. Any form of communication is how ideas are spread and how they are destroyed. Hitler wrote Mien Kampf, Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto, the Founding Fathers wrote the Federalist papers and the anti Federalist papers, nightly news programs promote progressivism, and it is in our cafes, bars, and internet forums, that ideas are passed from person to person. The battleground for the spread of ideas is anyplace people congregate and talk.

When we watch people debating an idea we usually gravitate to the idea whose adherents are the most zealous. Often a zealous arguer is more convincing than one who uses logic and reason, because she uses emotion, and emotion is a stronger motivator of men than reason, especially those who claim to be “reasonable.” Logic, reason, emotion and self interest, are some of the weapons people use to promote their ideas. Emotion is like a nuclear weapon since it has such power, self interest is like strategic bombing and logic is like a sword, cutting absurdity from truth. Only where the battleground is intolerant of emotion can the nuclear weapon be banned. This is why bad ideas that are based on self interest and emotion are so powerful and have such sway over the minds of people.

We live in a world of ideas, whether evil or good, those ideas determine the quality of life of all humanity. It has been said, the human mind is like a rider on an elephant, the rider is reason and it is the elephant that does the work. Clearly, the rider has only limited control of the elephant, and must ride where the elephant goes, that is why emotion is such a good motivator. We are all self interested, seeking our own good over the good of others, applying to our immediate self interest then is another powerful way to promote an idea, bad ideas are good at this tactic while good ideas are bad at it. It is this siren call of evil ideas, that is why human history has so few examples of good ideas becoming widespread, and why evil ideas have been the norm. Good ideas apply to logic and reason while bad ideas apply to emotion and self interest. Good ideas recoil from violence while evil ideas embrace it. In the end however, the good ideas… limited government, America, and justice for all, actually are in our long term self interest, if not in our immediate self interest. Let us pray then, that humanity will use logic and reason to decide what ideas we will follow, abandoning emotion and lust, thus improving the lot of mankind.

Our Sick Economy

Thursday, September 15th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, when someone is coming down with an illness, initially the signs are slight and not too bad, later when the symptoms become worse they can be alleviated by aspirin and other medications, the worse the symptoms the stronger the medications needed to mitigate them, but when the illness hits with full force it can no longer be mitigated by medication and the body dies. Today the world economy is sick, the initial signs were ignored, so it has got to the point the strongest medication available is being used. Up to now, the symptoms have been mitigated by Keynesian principles, stupendous amounts of money printing, government debt spending, monetizing government debt, negative interest rates and central banks are even buying corporate bonds and stocks! From our own experience we can tell how bad a disease is, by the drugs used to treat it and when the morphine drip of monetizing the debt is used, pretty much all hope is lost. The chemotherapy of QE, Twist, negative interest rates etc… have lost their effectiveness and the illness has spread.

Using the right drugs to treat any disease is critical. Penicillin is wholly ineffective against malaria and quinine has no effect on strep throat. The Keynesian prescription is always spending, add to that the monetarist prescription of money printing, and you have the “universal” cure for every economic ailment. Of course not all ailments are the same. Just as strep throat is different than malaria the reasons economies falter are different. Moreover, if a single drug is used too much it looses it’s effectiveness and becomes inert, like the Keynesian prescription. Keynesian economics is the fall back position of every government since John Maynard Keynes described it. Like penicillin however, it has been used too much and for illnesses that it is unfit to cure, and so the overuse of Keynesian economics deficit spending has made our economies immune to the effects.

Some drugs only mask the symptoms of disease. Pain killers are an example of this type of drug. They mask the pain but have no effect on what is causing it. In fact, new studies have come out that show opiates actually enhance a person’s feeling of pain, if they are used too much. Monetary stimulus is this type of medication for an economy. It masks the underlying problems. Money printing makes the stock market and bond market appear to sail. That rise in stock valuation however only hides the problems. People understand the disconnect, like when an injured person looks down at his broken arm, but feels no pain because he has been given morphine. He sees the arm is broken, he knows it should hurt but the lack of pain confuses him. If another person isn’t there to render first aid, the victim will likely damage himself far more, from using it due to his lack of pain. Masking a problem only makes it worse especially if what caused the problem in the first place is not addressed.

To argue someone is doing well, even as they are on Keynesian life support and the morphine drip of money printing is being used, is to argue up is down. The media that calls itself unbiased knows if the true state of our economy were widely known, the faction they prefer would loose in a landslide, since they cannot allow that, they are pulling out all the stops to argue up is down. The media cherry pick data, and polish it before they deliver it to us, protecting their favored faction. The more they get caught manipulating data the more they do it. Like a witch doctor, his dancing and waiving a chicken leg over someone with cancer might be entertaining and have a placebo effect, in the end it will have no effect on the outcome, only possibly the duration.

Regulation is like poison, in small enough amounts it has no great harm and can even be beneficial in some cases, too much and it becomes toxic and perhaps even deadly. Our governments have been introducing regulatory poison into our economy since time immemorial. Since the effect of poison is to create illness where there otherwise would be none, the elite need to mask the symptoms of the illness they have created by regulation, crony capitalism, and corruption, even as they inject ever larger doses and more deadly poisons into our economy. The way to save a person who has been poisoned is first to stop poisoning her and then get the poison out her system, by chelation or by introducing an antivenin.

What we have is a sick economy… it has been sick for many decades and the illness has been metastasized by Obama’s policies. We have witch doctors, the media that calls itself unbiased dancing and waiving a dismembered chicken leg giving false hope, there are “doctors” who have only read one book and their only tool is a butter knife, performing open heart surgery, as we are being plied with heroine to mitigate the pain, and the patient dies a slow and lingering death. Our economy has been poisoned by government actions and so cannot recover until the right medications are used in the right amounts. Just as heroine will not heal a broken leg and can lead to the worsening of it by continuing to use it, masking our economic problems with money printing only makes them worse, because there is no incentive to stop poisoning our economy. We have progressed beyond the initial stages where lethargy, slight pain and muscle aches… through the open sores, crushing pain and high fever to being hospitalized in intensive care. Isn’t it time to stop poisoning our economy and use different medications?

Sincerely,

Political Evolution

Monday, September 12th, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, we are experiencing the evolution of our republics, in their democratic elements as well as the aristocratic and monarchic. No evolution comes without demand, as movement requires as a precedent, force. This evolution is driven by the elite who have for a very long time now, only served their own narrow self interests rather than the interests of society, civilization and humanity. Good government serves the interests of all equally; bad government serves those who govern. Bad government generates the demand for change required for a government to evolve or collapse. When those who serve government serve themselves first and best they create incentive for change. In the complex systems, that exists in every manifestation of humanity, what change could emerge is unknowable. One thing that is certain, that change will be painful, especially for those unprepared.

In the US the two party system has become two teams in the same league. They both stand for exactly the same thing, totalitarian government, for the benefit of the people to be sure, the only contention is who can run that totalitarian government best? Now with the presidential race between a self serving, sociopathic, incorrigible liar, who is unable to follow any rules, law or regulations whatsoever and a self serving, egoistic, self described crony, who has only become religious last week, is learning about our Constitution as we speak and knows only one thing… his presidency will be huge. Obama has implemented the Cloward and Pivon plan to collapse the US and, it would appear, his Presidency has been to that end all along.

Europe with their parliamentary system has dozens of political parties but has effectively outlawed any party that stands for liberty. Both on the right and left they both agree, government should be tyrannical and law arbitrarily applied, they disagree if society should be destroyed immediately, so the world government can be ushered in or if European socialism should be confined to Europeans. Read the platforms of any party and they read like a socialist list of votes to buy. Pandering to this or that faction, unless they seek liberty, then they are a pariah.

We have woken up to the game even as the last quarter is upon us. Perhaps not too late, the democratization of information made possible by the internet, has reduced the gate keepers to babbling fools, still mesmerized by their past success. We now see them for who they are, and every day as more people wake up to it, the demand for actual representation rather than misrepresentation grows across Europe and the US. The demand for change is forcing evolution on all of us, even the elite. They may believe themselves in the catbird’s seat, European civilization is facing existential threat from unlimited Muslim immigration, which would collapse the system allowing the Fabians to rebuild it in the image they see as better. The US two party system is showing is slip for the people to see and the Cloward and Pivon strategy is in full execution. Change is coming, whether that change is good or bad remains to be seen, but change becomes inevitable once the people believe their own eyes, that the emperor is naked. Better prepare for rough times…

Sincerely,

John Pepin
