The Struggle Between Liberty and Tyranny…

Thursday, November 3rd, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, all of human history can be described, not as class warfare… but between those that seek tyranny and those that prefer liberty. There have been times when the proletariat have sought liberty, and others where the masses have preferred tyranny, the same holds true of the Bourgeoisie and the elite. Both sides are self serving, those that seek liberty however, serve the needs and wants of all of society, while those who favor tyranny only serve their own narrow self interests. Once we understand that history is actually a struggle between the forces of autocracy and freedom much of human history comes into focus. Allegiances, wars, economic policies, socialism, free enterprise, and every other policy governments have come up with, are merely battles in the greater war between liberty and tyranny. Each seeking to hold mankind in it’s sway forever.

Class conflict is always based on the struggle between liberty and tyranny, the factions may change seats, but the conflict is always the same. The hoi polloi have great power in their numbers but are like a herd of cats, dangerous, sweeping but uncontrolled. The elite are fewer in numbers and have political as well as economic might, but to keep those attributes, the elite must constantly be wary of the people. Most often the people seek liberty but usually live in tyranny, while the elite almost always enjoy liberty but usually seek tyranny. Occasionally, the people have sought tyranny while the elite have hoped for liberty, as in the case of the founding of the US. The people wanted a king but the elite wanted limited government.

If we examine history through the lens of a struggle between tyranny and liberty much of human history is made less opaque. The various wars are obviously a struggle between tyranny and liberty, but other historical events can be described as the struggle as well. Economic policies for example, socialism is all about promoting tyranny while free enterprise is all about forwarding liberty. The French Revolution was ostensibly about restoring liberty to France but resulted in tyranny. How did that happen? Because the people who overthrew the aristocracy and king never had liberty as their goal, the revolutionaries never sought freedom, instead they wanted to be the tyrant themselves. The struggle between liberty and tyranny can be applied to every time and place, while Marx’s dialectic only describes the European feudal state, and then not very well.

With the insight that the struggle between liberty and tyranny gives us we can examine the roles of the various players in human history. We can place them in which faction they go and in doing so we can understand the arc of human history. Like the French Revolution the players usually don’t let their actual positions known, because those positions would undermine their effort to succeed, in establishing tyranny. Robespierre wrote about liberty as a means to fool the people into following his form of tyranny. While those who sought tyranny backed the French revolution, others who understood the struggle wasn’t between classes, castes or other social station, but between those who sought tyranny and those who prefer liberty, like Burke, correctly predicted the outcome. Not based on a supernatural understanding of human nature, but of the fundamental nature of the struggle, and that most of the participants wanted to replace the tyranny of the king, with tyranny of the proletariat.

Those few occasions where and when liberty won, ushered in the heights of human philosophy, science and human heartedness, plus, they have raised the lot of mankind, socially, economically, politically and culturally. The results of the few victories liberty has tasted, show it to be exponentially better for the human race and indeed individuals themselves, than tyranny. Yet the pull of tyranny is uncontrollable for some people. Some might trick themselves into believing they will be benevolent tyrants, others know just what it is they seek, but to them tyranny is a siren call, unavoidable, inevitable and too powerful to resist. The people who prefer tyranny usually understand that liberty is better for humanity but the pull of unlimited power over others cannot be resisted.

If we as a race start to understand that we live in a constant struggle between the forces of tyranny and liberty, we can start to get more liberty, and less tyranny. To do so however requires an understanding that most who claim to stand for liberty actually seek tyranny. The way to tell the difference is to look at the policies they propose. The cause of liberty is never helped by more regulations, more laws or more control, just as tyranny is never promoted by more freedom, more autonomy from the state or limited government. Those that claim their form of “liberty” demands more control of our actions, thoughts and even how we worship, are those who seek tyranny, while people who promote less government, less control, freedom of thought, and religion, are those who fight on the side of liberty. Human history is one long fight between the forces of tyranny and those of liberty, if we want a better life for our children then it is time to take sides, side with liberty.

Sincerely,

What Catch Phrases always Catch

Monday, May 2nd, 2016

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, catch words have a way of catching those who use them. Various political factions use their own catch phrases, often to show what side they are on, sometimes to move the minds of the people to be more inclined to their side, and rarely, to say what they really mean. Because of this fact we have the ability, if we are willing to exercise our brains, to recognize both the faction and the goal of most political speakers. Since all politics has a goal… recognizing it is of paramount importance. Of course, any political speaker could exchange his or her words for the words of another faction, to confuse and pollute the catch phrases of that other faction, and it has been done to the conservative and libertarian factions to great effect. Even the lack of using catch words denotes factional affiliation. The catchword of the day is “democracy.”

Those who call the United States of America a “democracy” have an obvious agenda. Factually, the US is a Constitutional Republic, to call it a democracy is to show ignorance or lie, to pollute the minds of the people. The new class, who are the most educated in our society, call the US a democracy all the time. The media never calls the US a Constitutional Republic, our politicians, almost to the man, use the misdirection, “democracy,” as do those in academia. The most vexing people who use the term are lawyers however. Those in the legal profession have extensive training in our governmental and legal structure, they operate the strings of our republic and they control all three branches with absolute power. They also have years of training in how to make a lie appear truth and the truth appear to be a lie. You might argue they are lazy and use the term because it has become so ingrained, but do you call your daughter a son out of laziness?

The way the misdirection “democracy” has so infiltrated the minds of the American people is because the new class has been pushing it for so long. At least as long as I have been alive the media have called the US a democracy. We swim in the lie. It surrounds us like water does a fish. Our minds are carefully inculcated with the false idea the US is a democracy and so we drink it in, it soaks into our pores and sticks to us no matter if we step out of it. Today, if you ask anyone what form of government the US is they will invariably say, democracy. The very few who will give the correct answer, constitutional republic, also show their political affiliation.

Democracy according to Aristotle is one of the wrong forms of government. Aristotle said in Nicomachean Ethics, that there are three right forms, three wrong forms and one perfect form of government. The three right forms are, monarchy, aristocracy and polity. His three wrong forms are tyranny, oligarchy and democracy. His perfect form is a republic or the blending of the right forms. The reason tyranny, monarchy and democracy are wrong forms, is that they serve only the interests of the ruling faction. Tyranny only serves the king’s interests, oligarchy only serves the interests of the aristocracy and democracy only serves the interests of the majority. They also are unlimited in their power, for example, Socrates was executed by democratic edict.

Pure democracy is unlimited in it’s power, scope and reach. It is simply mob rule. In any mob the person running it has the real power. In effect becoming a tyrant. The quality of democracy, those who misname the US are trying to insinuate into the minds of the people, is that the people have unlimited power. What the really seek is unlimited power for themselves. Every mob has a boss, someone who calls the shots, tells the mob who to beat up, what to steal, what to smash and who to murder. The question that must never be asked however is, because the majority want something does that make it moral? If the majority was whipped into a frenzy of hate against you, voting to have you dragged behind a car until you are dead, would that be moral? But, but… the majority ruled, doesn’t that make it okay? Of course not! What is wrong for the individual to do is wrong for a group of individuals to do, that is a basic tenet of true morality.

Liberty on the other hand, has been purged from our political lexicon, which really says it all. The term freedom is used instead. Liberty carries with it a connotation of responsibility and cost where freedom is based on the root word free, no cost, no responsibility, no consequences. In a democracy people have freedom to be as vile, loathsome and evil as they see fit, while all the time claiming they have freedom to do it. The goal of eliminating liberty and replacing it with freedom is to create a people with no moral compass, the goal of misnaming the US as a democracy is to create mob rule with those who use the term as the mob boss, who will then tell that mob to destroy our Constitution, our liberty and anyone who stands in their way. Yes, catch phrases can tell us a lot about the motivations, goals and means of the speaker, catching them in their machinations.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Freedom Must be Defended

Thursday, December 10th, 2015

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the moment opinion is met with death threats, there is tyranny in the land. Donald Trump, who is not my first choice for President, recently said we should stop all Muslim immigration to the US and that statement has caused a firestorm. The RNC has condemned Trump in the harshest of terms, the media that calls itself unbiased has gone into anaphylactic shock, and now there are death threats from the religion of peace. His opinion has resulted in death threats and so there is real tyranny, the tyranny of intolerance, censorship, blind ideology and outright hatred. Such outright tyranny should send a chill down the spine of every freedom loving person, in America, and beyond. Calling for the death of a person because you disagree with his or her opinion shows a presumption that boarders on the demented. Moreover, to presume to call for the death of someone else because of their opinion, by reciprocal attribution, means anyone else has an equal right to call for another’s death for their opinion, which is a road to chaos and violence.

Carter not only stopped all Iranian immigration in the 1970s but forcibly shipped back all those Iranians who were here legally! His measures were not called draconian and there were no calls for Carter’s death. Many of the people, if not most, were horrified that the Shaw was overthrown and the crazies won the government. I had a friend, Sayeed, who was here on a student visa. He cried at the thought of going back, but the government came, arrested him and sent him back to certain death. I asked him why he was so afraid of the new government, and he told me, “They are more crazy than you can imagine…” Sayeed didn’t agree with the Ayatollah nor was he a nut job, he was a good person who happened to be Iranian and had to be arrested and shipped back because of Carter’s decree. Agree or disagree with Carter, no one called for his death, even though he went way beyond what Trump called for.

There is an old saying, “If you want to know who your masters are look at who you cannot criticize.” It can also be understood as if you want to know who wants to be your master look at who refuses criticism and calls for your death if you do. Here in the land of the free our forefathers have always resisted would be tyrants. To accept such rhetoric as calls for the death of people is tantamount to accepting the yoke of slavery. Such intolerance has no place in our society. Not just calls for the death of Trump because he has an opinion that some find unacceptable, but all calls for the death of others, like Black Lives Matter calling for police to be “fried like bacon…” or Louis Farrakhan calling for 1000 murderers to kill white people, such rhetoric demands tyranny over others and is the antithesis of freedom.

Indeed it is our very freedom that has allowed our society, based on the free exchange of ideas and opinions that has propelled the world into the heretofore unimagined standard of living we enjoy, the globe over today. Those places where opinion and ideas were met with death threats have always been backward and barbaric places where the advancement of civilization, science and culture has retreated. Humanity has only advanced when individual liberty has been protected. It is not unoffensive speech that needs to be protected, but offensive speech, otherwise civilization corrodes and the human condition worsens. Freedom, of action, speech, self protection and thought are the cornerstones of civilized man, censorship, intolerance and oppression are shifting sand that will collapse a civilization no matter how well it is constructed.

To presume to control another’s speech, thought or liberty is hubris of the highest order. Such hubris forgets that if one believes he can control another, then that other has every right to control him! Any attribute foisted on me, I can reciprocate, and foist back on you. Call for my death and I have every right to call for yours. That my friends is the path to chaos and violence and can only result in the lowering of the human condition. Take a long look at what people say. If they call for the silencing of others, limits on liberty, thought laws or religious fidelity, especially with threats of death, they serve chaos and violence and have no place whatsoever in modern civil society. They are an anachronism that belongs in the dark ages where people had slaves, burned others at the stake and beheaded people for idolatry. Those that call for the death of another because of the other’s opinion should be forcibly rounded up and shipped away, or denied entry, because such attitudes lead to retribution thereby becoming a spiral to unrest, famine and want. Whether they are college kids, radical racists, the media that calls itself unbiased, climate change alarmists or Islamists, they have no place in the land of the free. They can go live in those places that have earned the wages of tyranny and intolerance, to practice their tyranny and intolerance.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Impeach this Lawless President.

Wednesday, June 11th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, there is no reason Obama cannot run for a third term, or even simply dictate he is now President for life. I am not saying he will, but there has never been such a lawless President in United States history. The scandals of the Obama administration have been so profoundly destructive of our Constitution and the rule of law, without any real outrage by the elite in the media, politics or culture, that our very Constitution has become mere window dressing. There is historical precedent for this, but not in American history, in the history of Rome there is a close example. One that led directly to Rome becoming a tyranny while calling itself a republic. We are on the same road as ancient Rome, with the difference that we have history to teach us where that road leads, and the Romans didn’t. Our republic will certainly end, in all but name, if this level of lawlessness continues. Our elected leaders are too afraid of Obama and his machine to even vociferously call attention to it. Tyranny is in our future unless we stand up and demand his impeachment.

The examples of lawlessness by Obama are legendary. Fast and Furious was a blatant attempt to undermine the Second Amendment to our Constitution and should have been a fast track to impeachment. Using the IRS against political enemies was so naked an assault on individual liberty, and good government, that everyone involved should go to jail for a very long time, you or I would, for far far less. Benghazi might have been overlooked as incompetence of the highest order, if not for the coverup, a coverup that was broader in scope and exponentially more pernicious than Watergate. Muzzling the media through intimidation is a direct attack on the First Amendment. Giving heavy weapons including surface to air missiles to Al Queda allied terrorist groups is a clear example of “Giving aid and comfort to the enemy.” Which, as defined by our Constitution, is the meaning of a traitor, which is one of the reasons Benghazi was covered up. Releasing enemy combatants to reenter the war against us, in exchange for a deserter, is another example of traitorous actions. Selective enforcement of law is the very definition of lawlessness and is itself impeachable. Now with Obama’s Dream Act he has opened the floodgates to tens of thousands of children crossing the southern boarder, to date over 60,000 children are in custody, with another 120,000 expected in the next year, giving some insight into what our government calls a “secure” boarder… one that is so open even a child can cross it. How many children who were not picked up by the Boarder Patrol, have been raped, murdered or enslaved? I could go on and on but space limits me. Suffice it to say, Obama is not held to any law our Constitution, or even common decency.

Rome faced the same problem. There had been intercine fighting for a few generations between the advocates for patricians and plebeians. The advocates for both sides were all members of the patrician class however. When Julius Caesar came into the picture, he handed out money to the plebeians to buy their support, and it worked perfectly. He had the plebeian’s unwavering backing when he declared himself dictator for life. Some of the patricians understood the danger to the republic from Caesar’s lawlessness and assassinated him to protect the republic. That is where the famous saying, “Et Tu Brute,” came from. As we all know from our history books Rome never recovered and it became a tyranny of the worst kind… arbitrary rule. The ascension of Octavius and his institution of the praetorian guard was the death knell of any hope for freedom in Rome. After that, Rome simply declined year after year, until the hordes from the north and the Islamic invasion from the south, destroyed both Western and Eastern Roman empires, the Holy Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire.

History is a great teacher. It can warn those who have learned it’s lessons where a given policy will lead. We have such a wonderful chronicle to understand the nature of human government that it is absurd not to glance at it now and then. That we don’t, is why we repeat the worst parts over and over, and almost never relive the good parts. Those who have political power know and understand the lessons, and clearly by their actions, they don’t want liberty, they want to be dictators for life. To ascribe any human being with altruistic attitudes is foolish, but once a person has shown his complete disregard for our Constitution and laws, it is suicidal to allow his incursions to go on. Our political elite are too terrified of him, the cultural elite are in love with him, and the media elite are effectively cowed by him, as our republic relives the history of Rome. Caesar was only the first, he opened the door to Mark Antony then Octavius… Obama is only the first American President to openly flaunt the law, our Constitution and common decency, he will not be the last, since he opened the door, more will enter through it. God help us if we don’t stand, because even if he doesn’t declare himself President for life, the door is now open, when the next usurper walks through it, we will be forced to sit… for the the next few centuries.

Sincerely,

The Ukrainian Riots

Monday, January 27th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the people of the Ukraine are ripping mad, and they have every right to be. They have been deceived and stabbed in the back over and over. The riots that have been going on now for weeks in Kiev are the manifestation of that anger. Now cities around Ukraine are joining the protests. Like in the United States and the World over, politicians in the Ukraine believe they can run on a platform, then rule in direct opposition to that platform without consequence. In the US politicians get away with it, with the help of the unbiased media, but in Ukraine their feet are being held to the fire. A real fire as it turns out. The Ukrainian government has offered several concessions to the protesters but they are too little too late. Perhaps the riots won’t end, until either the government stomps them down like the Chinese communists did in Tienanmen Square, or the government falls, but there is a way to solve the problem in both the Ukraine and the World over.

People have a great ability to forgive. We understand that others are flawed human beings as are we. Upon a continued assault however, no person no matter their demeanor, will remain calm forever. Politicians in both the Ukraine and the US run as conservatives and libertarians but rule as tyrants and socialists. This enrages the people who voted for those corrupt politicians based, as it always turns out, on lies. No one can stand ceaseless irritations without eventually becoming irritated and that is where the Ukrainian people are. How long will it take for the American people to wake from our slumber?

One of the concessions offered by the Ukrainian president is the amending of their Constitution. What the unbiased media fail to report, or even understand, is that if a President can unilaterally amend the Constitution… there is no Constitution. The Protesters understand this basic fact of Constitutional rule, but the elite in the media and government don’t, (or don’t want to). A Constitution is supposed to be a document that limits the power of the elite over the people. If the elite can change it willy nilly, it does not limit their power, but give their reign a faux legitimacy. If the protesters allow the Constitution to be changed by the political elite, it will be changed back again the moment the exigency of the riots are over, giving the government unlimited power again.

History has not been kind the the people of the Ukraine. They have suffered under the Mongol hordes, they have faced wave after wave of Muslim invasions, they have suffered under the Tzar’s tyranny and oppression and have endured under Stalin and his artificial famine. The unfortunate people of the Ukraine have no history of freedom and liberty to fall back on. They have only famine, oppression, war and slaughter to remember. Now they have an opportunity to forge a different path, one free from oppression, and they are seizing it. I pray to God they can pull it off, their lot has been so bad for so long, if anyone deserves peace and prosperity, it is the people of the Ukraine.

Clearly what is needed in the Ukraine is laissez faire capitalism, a strongly limiting Constitution and a NUMA to enforce it. Otherwise the government will continue to run amok, progressing to socialism and tyranny, as they are in the US. Barring that, as soon as a new government comes into power, it will act the same as the old one. A NUMA would change the paradigm in Ukraine for the better by holding the political elite to the Constitution’s limits. This is something very few political leaders have been held to, since the dawn of time, anywhere. Power must be limited else it limits the people. We have seen this played out throughout time and the World over.

Only time will tell how the protests in Ukraine will turn out. The strong likely hood is that some new dictator will emerge, charismatic and ruthless. History is not on the side of the people. The normal state of humanity is under the thumb of a tyrant, it is the exception where and when a people escape from it and forge a new way. The US did for a while, but the current of politics always wears away the people’s resolve, eventually eroding the limits put on government by Constitutions. Only a Constitutionally empowered branch of government could ever hope to have the authority to contain the avarice of the political elite. Without a NUMA, Ukraine will fall back into oppression, as the US is progressing to.

Perhaps it is a pie in the sky dream that Ukrainians could have liberty but every man woman and child yearns to be free in his or her heart. Freedom has lifted millions of people from poverty while arbitrary rule has lowered billions to slavery. I am on the side of the protesters, I believe liberty is the only way to lift all boats, and liberty is the protester’s goal, but the protesters need to have a plan. To that end, a NUMA along with a strictly limiting Constitution, would do just that. Let’s pray it happens and that the political current doesn’t wash away the hopes and dreams of the Ukrainian people. God speed and God bless the Ukrainian people… and may God help us here in the US.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Rise of the Proletariat

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the two parties in the US don’t represent the people, they represent two factions of the elite. The democrat party represents the so called “New Class” while the republican party represents the bourgeois. In this struggle they both have as their primary adversary, and pawns to the game, the American people. In this they are united, that is why the Tea Party, a grass roots organization that actually does represent the needs and wants of the vast majority of the American Electorate, must be destroyed. The two old parties exploit the people to their own ends… not ours. This is a paradigm that must be overturned else we will become serfs in all but name.

The “New Class” as it has been termed are the intelligentsia. Those with advanced degrees. If we examine who has led every socialist revolution in the past, they have never been led by the proletariat, (as Marxists doctrine claims they would be), they have always been started, funded and the ideologically fueled by the academics, and professional revolutionaries, who exploited the peasantry to do the dirty work. In all cases the working people have been the victims of socialist revolutions. This new class becomes more Marxist the higher you go in academia, wealth and political power. If we examine the top echelons of Harvard, Yale and the other Ivy league schools, we will find a plurality of revolutionary Marxists and anarchists. Neither of which have the best interest of the workers at heart. The unbiased media are also members of this new class.

What I mean by the bourgeois, is the owners of the means of production, as Marx did. The definition of the owners of the means of production however are not what you might think. If you have an IRA or 401K, you are the bourgeois, if you own stocks or bonds or if you have a well stocked tool kit, you are the owner of the means of production. Entrepreneurs are a faction of the bourgeois as are family run business men. The CEO and the board of directors of a company are not the bourgeois however, those people, (who control the means of production as opposed to own it), are members of the new class.

Unfortunately it is not quite that simple. Both parties have at the top members of the new class. They run both parties. That is why they fight over trivialities, like the magnitude of a tax hike, when what we the people want are lower taxes. They agree that they should control everything… but each wants the power for themselves. They consider themselves superior to us because of their academic achievements. They hold us in disdain, believing us incapable of running our own lives, and so we are in need of their enlightened guidance. Both parties have this as their fundamental ethos.

The Tea party however was formed by the people. We sought a seat at the table of power. But the elite hold us in even greater contempt for it. They see the Tea party as upstarts who should bow to the great wisdom of the elite, in moving our society to a socialist one, where the State is the arbiter of everything and the goods of society are distributed by political favor. Since they have the political favor, this paradigm that they espouse, is a nakedly self serving one. The Tea Party is just as guilty of this as are the elite. We seek to meet our self interests by having a seat at the table too.

The primary difference is that we don’t seek to wrest the power of the State for our own aggrandizement or personal enrichment, we seek to limit the power of the State, so we won’t have to labor under the yoke of tyranny. As Thrasymachus said in The Republic, Most people only want to live their lives in peace, but great men want power… We seek a society where we can get ahead if we earn it, and where political favor is less of a factor in where we end up in society, than our personal merits. In short we seek a meritocracy. This entire thought process is an anathema to the elite in both parties.

This is why both the Republican old guard and the entirety of the Democrat party are so vicious in their attacks on politicians who back the Tea Party. There is no limit to the vitriol they will dump on the Tea Party, and by extension, us. The Constitution is a road block and so must be changed, by hook or by crook, but changed it must be. Remember, you don’t have to change the words in a Constitution to change it’s meaning… only the meaning of the words.

To the person with his or her eyes open, the new class is in fact a very old class… the aristocracy, seeking to reestablish their old privileges. So, the Tea party is in fact the true proletariat uprising, struggling against the chains the old powers are trying to bind us with… as Marx envisioned. We don’t want violent revolution, or blood in the streets, we just want peace, prosperity and liberty. To the wannabe dictator however there is nothing as distasteful as a pawn that has an opinion. Pawns are to be sacrificed for the greater good… the good of the elite, or in other words, the new aristocracy.

Sincerely,

Un-American Attacks on Our Constitution

Thursday, April 11th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems quite alarming to me, that so many who serve in the US government, have open antipathy to the US Constitution. Members of the Supreme Court have said they would not use the US Constitution as a template for a new republic, members of the Legislature calling the Constitution antiquated and out of step with the times, and even the President himself calling the Constitution a charter of negative liberties, the Constitution it would seem, is a problem for many if not most who serve in the American government. Every facet of the Constitution is under assault today from the very people who have taken a oath to uphold and protect it. The result of their attacks is to turn mindless, uninformed people and the fawning press, into useful idiots.

There is no facet of the US Constitution, especially the Bill Of Rights, that is not under direct assault today. The First amendment’s prohibition on the establishment of a State religion has been perverted into establishing the State religion of atheism, the other part of the First Amendment, freedom of speech and of the press, is being undermined by the very press it seeks to protect. The Second Amendment is daily undermined by the incessant call for more gun control, and freedom from search and seizure, has been eroded by the drug laws and fish and game laws that allow law enforcement to search your person or property without warrant or probable cause. We are under constant surveillance by the State, as we go about our daily tasks, while the workings of government are hid more and more by a veil of secrecy. The list of incursions grows longer every day. The hubris and boldness of these usurpers is ever more apparent every time they undermine another facet of Our Constitution.

It would seem that the Constitution stands in the way of these people’s desire to mold the government. The reason for the Constitution is to limit the power and scope of government to the minimum possible to function. That is an anathema to those that are in government today. Many have, as their stated goal, to evolve the United States into a socialist country. They openly avow this, until it becomes a political liability, then they change the subject and vilify the person sounding the alarm. History clearly shows the result of unconstitutional rule, oppression, famine, tyranny and war. There are no examples where this is not so.

There is nothing more un American than to be against the Constitution. Someone could take a position that is not in line with limited government and not be un American. It is evidently American to argue against the actions of any and all branches of government, that Right is enshrined in the First Amendment, but today the political elite call those who disagree with the President un American, without repercussion. Our Constitution is the foundation of our government. The function of Constitutional government is not dependent on who are citizens, or what the geographical location, it is entirely dependent on following the Constitution. This makes the very definition of what it is to be American is to agree with and follow the American Constitution. To be otherwise is the very definition of un American.

If we want to stem this dangerous trend in our elected and appointed elite, then we must start calling any attack on Our Constitution un American, do it boldly and without apology. To shrink in the face of a usurper is to accede to eventual tyranny. Acceding to tyranny is to be unworthy of being called American. Our Constitution is all that has ever stood between us and oppression. Make no mistake about it, our liberty is dependent on our Constitution, and our Constitution is dependent on our vigilance.

If we hear an elected or appointed representative attack our Constitution, it is our duty to pillory that politician, justice or bureaucrat. To grumble in silence is to accept, we must openly state we are in absolute support of our Constitution, and that we will broach no disrespect of it… especially from people who have taken an oath to follow and protect it! To attack and undermine our Constitution, after having taken an oath to protect it, is high treason and it must be called so! In the end, it is our silence or our vociferous defense, that will win the day. It is up to everyone who reads this to make up his or her mind, are you for the Constitution or against it? Ask yourself this… am I a useful idiot? If you are not, then take a stand, and remember… the pen is mightier than the sword, and your voice is louder than you think!

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Threat of Bureaucracy.

Monday, March 25th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the bureaucratic part of the US government is not only unconstitutional, it poses the greatest risk to constitutionalism that exists today. Nowhere in the US Constitution is there permission given, for unelected administrators to pass laws, enforce those laws and punish infractions of their laws. Regulations that are written by bureaucrats have the full weight and measure of laws passed by elected members of Congress. Bureaucracy creates the darkness that allows unfettered growth of government intrusion. Regulation that stymies economic opportunities, limits people’s potential and protects the power and privilege of the Elite. To sharpen the point further, bureaucracy is not only a perversion of our founding principles, it has become immortal… like a demon, feeding on the rights of the people.

Bureaucracy is a threat for a myriad of reasons. The bureaucracy falls under the Executive, undermining the separation of powers in the Constitution, it works under the veil of darkness that bureaucracy provides, the members have no loyalty to the citizens, only to the department heads and other bureaucrats, but perhaps most alarming, is that bureaucracy changes the very relationship between the citizens and our government. The bureaucrat, being human, want’s job security and so there is no limit the bureaucrat will accept on his or her power to regulate, because that would put their cushy job at risk, thus immortalizing bureaucracy. Bureaucracy has the ability to pass thousands of pages of regulation annually. Think of it, tens of thousands of administrators, working tirelessly, passing pages of regulations every day, every month, and every year, regulating the most minute aspects of human existence, and that regulation necessarily becoming more intrusive each passing day.

The Founding Fathers of the US had in mind to limit the power, role and scope of government, by separating powers. They looked back at human history and recognized the natural progression of government. All the great civilizations were universally founded in some virtue, but over time, descended into totalitarianism. History shows this tendency of the Elite, invested with power over the affairs of men, to be without exception. The Founders understood this fact of human nature and sought to control it to protect mankind’s liberty. In this they looked at Constitutionalism as the best means available to limit the role, scope and power of the political Elite. They included Montesquieu’s Third Branch, taken from the Executive.

The Founders understood that it is usually the Executive that is the source of tyranny. Bureaucracy turns the logic of the Founders on it’s head, by coalescing all the power of government, back into the hands of the Executive. This is an obvious perversion of the most basic idea of the US Constitution, and renders moot Montesquieu’s idea of a Third branch, limiting the power of the Executive. Bureaucracy makes all other branches of government irrelevant by taking over all their functions. Even the Judiciary will become irrelevant as bureaucracy evolves to it’s natural end.

Some argue that Bureaucracy is efficient. They claim that the government could not maintain it’s scope and power, if bureaucracy were eliminated, and that all the good that comes from government regulation, clean air and water for example, would go away. The point they miss, (intentionally so), is that under the Federalist system, the Federal government was never supposed to have that power, scope or intrusiveness, to begin with! Those powers, under the Tenth Amendment, were given to the diverse States, to protect the environment, teach children, to build and maintain infrastructure. Furthermore, efficiency in oppression is not a good thing, and that is what bureaucracy must necessarialy become!

The individual States, have the Constitutional power to limit economic growth with regulation within their jurisdictions, they have the power even to set up bureaucracies. There are few limits to the power of the States under the US Constitution. Only those powers that are specifically given to the Federal government, and limits found in the Bill of Rights, are the State governments barred from enacting. Other than those few limitations the State government were given wide latitude to pass innovative laws and regulations. The States were to be little laboratories to test laws and regulations to plumb both their effectiveness and their utility. If a State’s regulations become so onerous economic activity is harmed, under the US Constitution, people have the right to vote with their feet, moving to a State with less oppressive laws. Under the new perverted Federal bureaucratic model… there is no escaping the oppression of the bureaucrat.

The State governments, the Legislative branch, and even the Judiciary, are being made redundant by bureaucracy. As power is moved further from the people and universalized, the limits on what government can,and cannot do, are blurred. Bureaucracy contributes to the natural growth of government power and eliminates the limits put on government by the Founders. That is why Bureaucracy is so dangerous… and why it is immortal. For true liberty to be restored, bureaucracy must be eliminated… but to kill an immortal is never easy, in fact, immortality bequeaths the immortal with arbitrary power as well as unlimited life.

Sincerely,

Guns Trust and the Elite

Monday, January 14th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, a government that trusts the people with firearms, is a government that can be trusted. The opposite holds to be true as well, that a government that doesn’t trust citizens with guns, is a government that cannot be trusted. We can further say that, to the extent the government is wary of armed citizens, that government itself is dubious. This is important for people to understand, our standard of living, liberty and posterity are all endangered by government that seeks to disarm it’s citizens.

The Elite’s answer to every question that arises, is with more laws, more regulation and less liberty. They are a one stringed banjo. The answer is never less regulation, or more liberty. Our freedoms are always eroded while their reach into our lives becomes ever more intrusive. The Elite want to control more and more of our lives, for our own benefit “to be sure,” but no big brother is ever going to govern well, regardless if it is from a revolution or evolution. Human beings all seek liberty while the State always progressively seeks tyranny.

The progressives believe that society and government can be evolved to the perfect socialist State. They think that we can be trained into ants in their ant colony. The progressive ideal is a communist government without the revolution. They only differ from communists in the implementation of their ideology. In order to evolve society into an ant farm they first must disarm us. Our ability to defend ourselves gives us some protection from a tyrannical State, and a sense of individuality, which is antithetical to a “liberal.”

Individuality is both loved and hated by the progressives. They want unanimity of political thought, to do this, they splinter all other thought into warring factions, within society. Progressives love the artist who immerses a crucifix in urine, they adore Che Guevara the mass murderer, and they worship the emotion driven politician who doesn’t bother read the laws he or she passes. The progressives hate people who are self reliant, those people don’t need government handouts, socialists despise businessmen, businessmen allow people to be self reliant by providing work, and most of all, the progressives detest politicians who stand in their way.

Look at some of the things the Elite have been saying about our Rights and Our Constitution. Obama made it clear he this our Constitution is a charter of negative liberties, the Supreme Court judge, while on foreign soil, said, she would not us the American Constitution as a model for a new State forming today, the new amendment in the House to repeal the Constitutional limit on how many terms a President can serve, the list is as scary as it is sobering. Does this sound like people interested in limited government? Obama’s Homeland Security Department has called anyone who has more the a month’s worth of food a potential terrorist! Does that mean he could legally go house to house, seizing surplus food from people’s cupboards? The citizenry would have to be unarmed for this to happen. It has been done many times in the past by the progressive’s ideological peers.

A government that has no desire to overstep it’s Constitutional bounds will be neutral to guns. If the Elite have no intentions to intrude into the lives of the citizens then that Elite will no be threatened by guns in the hands of free men and women. Government that guarantees the liberty of it’s citizens would welcome an armed people because that nation would be impossible to invade. This would, does, naturally lower the cost of a standing army. The IJA didn’t even consider the thought of invading the US mainland due to the widespread proliferation of guns in the hands of Americans.

The progressives on the other hand, who seek to evolve government into their socialists ideal must, as a matter of expediency, disarm the citizenry, else those self reliant among us can stand up to their intrusions. The more relentless the progressives in power are, for their evolution of society, the more ardent they will be in gun confiscation. If there isn’t enough gun violence in the news they can exploit, to grab the Second Amendment away from the people, they can always create some in Mexico. Therefore, the level of their ardor can be reliably measured, by their distaste to having guns in the hands of free citizens. That’s why I say, the more the Elite want a disarmed people, the less we can trust them.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

Egyptian Oppression and Morsi’s Rule by Fiat

Monday, November 26th, 2012

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, no one should be surprised that the Islamofascist who now oppresses Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, would decree himself above the Law. Such shenanigans have been the currency of tyrants the World over and throughout time. Dictators and presidents for life have always considered themselves above the law, come to think of it… all Elite have that opinion. Look at the Elite in Europe and the US. They pass laws that apply to everyone but them. They hold themselves to no standards whatsoever. The Elite the World over consider themselves above any Law they write or precedes them. Morsi is just another tin pot dictator cut from the same cloth. I shudder to think of the violence, oppression and poverty, Morsi will visit on Egypt. But then again, it was Saint Agustin who said, people get the government they deserve. This adage is never more true then when the people themselves have elected a tyrant, instead of a President… both in Egypt and the US.

Mohamed Morsi is an islamofascist and makes no bones about it. His speeches are laced with anti Christian, anti Jewish and anti western rhetoric. He himself has called for the destruction of Israel, and his religious leader, for the extermination of the Jews, and Jerusalem as the capital of their World wide Caliphate. His rhetoric is uniformly anti democratic. The reality is that Morsi would be only too happy to deliver the Jews into another holocaust. Someone who is as extreme as Mohamed Morsi can be expected to usurp power every chance he gets.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood led government was elected in a free and fair election. That election delivered the Egyptian people into the hands of the group that spawned Al Queda, Hammas, Hezbollah and every terrorist organization in the twentieth century. This is a crowd that are evil incarnate. They openly seek World domination. Imagine if a capitalist regime sought World domination in their chartering documents and speeches? The unbiased media would be wall to wall coverage about the power hungry capitalists. The media feeding frenzy would never end until those people were driven from power and jailed.

The treatment the Islamofascists get is far different however. Obama gave up on a Middle East summit to keep weapons of mass destruction, (WMD), out of the Middle East. He capitulated because the evil men that run that part of the World are determined to get WMD. They see Nuclear weapons as their means to World domination. A very few electro-magnetic- pulse weapons could easily overturn the World’s power structure. Sure, billions would die in the ensuing wars and famines, but the World could then fall under the total arbitrary power of a Caliph. The results of Obama’s miscalculation in the Middle East will inevitably lead to human tragedy.

What would have been surprising is if Morsi had been a President instead of dictator. That would have upended the normal paradigm of Middle East politics however. That outcome was as unlikely as space Aliens landing, and giving the governments around the World trillions of dollars, to maintain their welfare spending. To say that Morsi has no mercy would be an understatement. The crucifixions of Christians that took place, shortly after Morsi came to power, might have been a wake up call that this man is evil. But the unbiased world media remained silent, until it came out, then the Islam apologists called it a hoax! It was no hoax! Especially to those who suffered a slow, painful and unmerciful death.

Would they have remained silent if a Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto or a member of any other religion were crucifying protesters? Of course not. But then again, news is, by definition, something that is out of the ordinary. Since this is the case, a newly elected Islamofascist crucifying people, being normal for them, is not news. Those poor people, who live under the jackboot of an Islamofascist regime, have plenty of torture, hunger, oppression and lack of religious freedom, to look forward to. To expect anything good from the election of an Islamofascist, or a socialist, is just plain stupid. Apparently the Egyptian and the American people have that in common too.

Sincerely,

John Pepin
