The Fox is Now in Charge of the Hen House.

Monday, September 15th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, putting people in charge of protecting something they despise, is not such a good idea if you want that thing to survive. A sane person wouldn’t put Hamas in charge of Israel’s defense, a rational parent wouldn’t put John Wayne Gacy in charge of his or her child’s birthday party and no one in their right mind would make Don Corleone the Attorney General. According to a news story I just read all of the appeals courts in the US are now run by a majority of Democrat appointees. This wouldn’t be bad if the democrat party had not been hijacked by outright socialists, progressives, but it has, and that means people who despise everything our Constitution stands for, are in charge of protecting it.

Control of our Constitution is the reason democrats filibustered Bush appointees. A move that at the time was unheard of. Once the progressives got their man in however they put an end to filibustering appointees. When republicans considered eliminating the filibuster it was called “the Nuclear option” by the unbiased media. When democrats pushed the nuclear button the unbiased new class media cheered them on. Now progressive democrats have filled all the vacancies Bush couldn’t along with those that have opened since Obama came to power.

Progressive philosophy is essentially the same as Marxist, the only real difference is the progressives eschew the violent revolution part of Marxist theory in favor of “progressing” us to full socialism. To achieve their end, a total state where people are the property of the state, the only thing that is off the table is outright revolution. They shun revolution, not because they are peaceful, but because they don’t believe revolution is the best way of getting there. That is why whenever a progressive is asked what is the difference between Marxism and Progressivism, the progressive laughs derisively and refuses to answer.

The difference between national socialism and progressivism/Marxism is the national versus their international nature. The Marxist/progressive believes in world communism, where everyone on the planet lives in their Utopian vision, whereas the national socialist seeks to enslave their own nation to the yoke of communism. The end of both are the same but one wants socialism for their country only and the other seeks it for the entire world. That explains why they hate each other so. They must draw from the same limited pool of people and so are in direct conflict for those potential enlistees.

In order to progress the world to communism the progressive only stops at violent revolution, not at violence. History shows that progressive will lie, cheat, destroy innocent people, undermine societal wealth, and harmony. They will do anything no matter how heinous, that progresses us to their goal. Since they are at heart atheists, and as such have no worry about eternal consequences, there is no limit to their actions. One thing stands in the way of the progressive vision of a united world under communism… the United States. More specifically, the US Constitution. That document is a stumbling block to them.

The US Constitution has provided the United States with the most long lasting republic since Rome, it has resulted in the most prosperous society the world has ever known, most of the industrial revolution’s advances are the direct result of US patent law… that is only possible under the US form of government, people still live in liberty even after over two hundred years of one government, and all of these goods are directly opposed to the progressive agenda.

Progressives learned over a century ago that they need not change the words of our Constitution to undermine it’s effectiveness, all they need do is change the meaning of the words, and it is the court system that interprets the words. Freedom of religion is now separation of church and state, shall not be infringed means limited rights, interstate commerce now means government can regulate anything you do in your own home and on your own land, but their diabolical attacks don’t end there. Progressives now seek to change the freedom of speech to freedom of government approved speech.

Both the Republican and democrat parties are controlled by progressives. The democrat party is totally in the hands of progressives and the republican party’s top echelon are uniformly progressive. That is why Tea party candidates come under the heaviest fire from republicans. The republican elite don’t believe in limited government, their rhetoric is only a means of tricking people into thinking there are two choices, when there is only one… progressive.

The judicial system is the final protector of our Constitution. Most of the heavy lifting is in the Appellate courts. They hear the majority of cases and rule on their constitutionality. Since there are no negative consequences if they actively seek to undermine our Constitution, once a progressive gets that lifetime appointment, he or she can engage in all sorts of mischief. Now that most of the judges on the appeals court are progressive democrats mixed with many progressive republican appointees, the change will come faster and faster. Yup, now that progressives are in charge of protecting Our Constitution, a constitution they despise with every fiber of their being, limited government will soon be history. World communism is the next goal.

Sincerely,

The Progressive’s War on Prosperity

Thursday, March 6th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the progressive and democratic parties in the United States are waging a war on prosperity. The reason is irrelevant but their actions demonstrate the war is being waged. The consequences of this war on prosperity are monumental. They apply not only to today’s generation, but because economic growth is cumulative, the loss in economic activity today translates in to a lower standard of living for future generations. Such a remarkable thing as a war being waged on our prosperity, is important for people to know and understand, so we can do something about it. If we don’t act, the results will diminish our standard of living to that of a third world hell hole, eventually. There are very few people anywhere who want less for their children, and thus, no one in their right mind wants a war waged on prosperity.

I don’t need to be told a man is fishing to understand that a man is fishing. If I see someone putting a worm on a hook, the hook tied to a string, the string tied to a pole, and when the man has finished putting the worm on a hook, he tosses the baited hook into a stream likely to contain fish. I don’t need to know why he is fishing to know that he is fishing. He might want food, he might want recreation or he might like the sport of fishing, but when I see someone engaging in these actions, I know that person is fishing… even if they deny it. The same is true of the democrats war on prosperity.

Lets examine the actions of the democrat party over the last few years. The Keystone XL pipeline has been vetoed, pilloried and protested by democrats and progressives. They make the spurious argument that the building of it will lead to more carbon in the atmosphere. Leaving alone the absurdity of the Climate Change argument, that oil will be burned regardless of the pipeline’s creation. The Canadian government has said, if the US doesn’t buy that oil it will be sent to China. Everyone knows the Chinese will burn that oil happily. Not only will it be burned whether or not the pipeline is built, but the oil will then have to be shipped to China via oil tankers, opening up the possibility of oil spills, the transportation will consume more energy, thus emitting more carbon into the atmosphere, and the Chinese economy is far less efficient with energy than the US economy, so less will be produced at greater cost to the carbon load. So clearly their rhetoric doesn’t agree with their actions.

The keystone pipeline would however generate high paying jobs in the US. Not only from it’s construction but from the personnel that will be required for it’s maintenance, the resulting lower energy cost, allowing for more manufacturing jobs in the US, and the jobs that will be needed to refine, ship and sell that oil. The oil is still coming to the US, but far less efficiently on trains that consume oil to haul it to the Texas refineries, and as recent news stories have shown, shipping oil by train can be very hazardous, Ala Lac-Megantic. The only possible result of the delay and ultimate stopping of the pipeline, will be to reduce economic output in the US and lower the number of jobs, and thus diminish wages. This is only one of the fronts of the democrat and progressive war on prosperity however.

Obama care has demolished economic output as efficiently as the fire bombing of Dresden during the Second World War razed that city. I have written extensively about the economic consequences of that flawed law. One that I might add, is that the law has been delayed, to after the next election, specifically because of it’s negative impact on small businesses. The heavy handed regulation of such a large and economically vital portion of the US economy has made it very difficult for new small businesses to start and be profitable. Every economist will tell you that it is new businesses that generate the majority of new jobs in any economy.

The rhetoric of the Obama administration has been aimed directly at job creators. His incessant attacks on “The Rich,” his ever increasing tax load poured on businesses, and his dozens of job killing tzars, specifically tasked with regulating every aspect of our lives, has had a dramatic effect on our economy. The actions of the democrats and progressives say, far louder than words, that they are waging a war on prosperity.

The results are as clear to discern as the fish in a fisherman’s basket. The economic rebound after the 2008 recession has been the most dismal since FDR did the same thing in the 1930’s… there are no V shaper’s today, the labor participation rate has fallen off the table, food stamps are at an all time high, GDP growth has been predicted to be 3-4% but has come in around 1-2%, the term economists are using to describe the pathetic economic numbers is “The New Normal,” the Federal Reserve has had an unprecedented ZERO interest rate for 5 years to no avail, plus they have been printing money to the tune of over a trillion dollars to prop up the economy every year since Obama took office… I could go on and on but space limits me.

The actions of the democrat and progressive left are plain to see for anyone with their eyes open as well as the results. Why they are waging a war on our prosperity is irrelevant, but that they ARE waging a war on prosperity, is critical. If we take our role in democratic society seriously, we must stand and speak out, or else our children will pay a heavy burden for our silence. It is far better to be vilified as racist, mean spirited, hate monger, teabagger, un-American, seditious or any of the other spurious ad homonym attacks designed to silence us, than to bequeath to our children and their children, poverty, want and famine. Which is exactly what we will be doing if we don’t fight against, and win, this war on our prosperity.

Sincerely,

The Gap Between the Rich and the Poor

Thursday, February 6th, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the disparity between the rich and the poor is so misused and so misunderstood, it ceases to be a metric of the justness of the market system, and has become a mere tool for leftist propaganda. The term is never fully defined, is it the difference between the income of the highest earners and the lowest earners, is it the difference between the wealth of the richest and the poorest, or perhaps it is the difference between the both income and wealth of the prosperous and the pitiable? The parameters are never stated, only left to the imagination of the observer, and as such becomes a subjective measure and not an objective measure. This makes the term spurious in that it appears logical but is in fact false logic meant to deceive. Yet this sophist measure is touted as proving the unjustness of the market system, and by extension, the justness of the socialist system. If we are to improve our standard of living and not backslide, as we have done under Obama’s reign, we must throw away this specious measure for one that is objective and empirical.

It is all the rage today in the unbiased press to claim the disparity between the rich and the poor is at an all time high. We are scolded by the rich media elite that we must do something about this disparity else we are immoral and self indulgent people. The media elite however never actually lower their own standard of living they only demand us to lower ours. Using this false measure to goad us into accepting government actions, that we know will harm our economic interests, for the supposed interests of the “poor.” As we are shamed into lowering our standard of living the elite in the media, government and culture increase theirs. Are we to assume then that we are the culprit when it comes to the disparity?

President Obama is constantly using this specious claim, along with the spurious admonition that all of us must give a little so that others can get a little. All the while Obama vacations on Nantucket island, the playground of the rich and powerful. He never vacations at a bowling ally, Detroit or Seven Flags. He spends all of his time with the rich, living the life of a king, at the expense of the taxpayer… you know, us… the ones who have to give up a little so that others can have a little more. Apparently we must give so the king can have more. How does this help the poor though? His spurious rhetoric makes Obama’s admonition that we “share” the sacrifice, hypocrisy at best.

Socialism is always touted as the means to close the gap between the rich and the poor, but when we examine the results of socialism, honestly and fairly we find the direct opposite is true. Take the most socialistic nations, Cuba and North Korea, there are many more but these two will suffice. In Cuba the socialist haven in the Caribbean, Forbes Magazine has deemed Fidel Castro one of the richest men on the planet.. A label he vehemently denied but is empirically true. He owns not only everything on the island of Cuba but everyone as well. If he arbitrarily orders someone to do a thing, they must do it else face jail, or worse. He decides what everyone gets, he decides every aspect of the county’s economy. This all makes Fidel Castro richer than rich, it makes him the slave master of Cuba.

In North Korea people must do and think exactly as the tyrant says, even crying at the death of the last tyrant, if the tears are not sufficient or realistic, they get punished for three generations in forced labor camps. People who have escaped those human atrocity factories, have given some of the most horrendous stories of human suffering, starvation and deprivations imaginable, where a child will sell out their mother to the hangman for a slice of stale dry bread! Meanwhile, the tyrant lives the life of a king. He has the best of everything while his people starve. Is it possible to have a greater disparity, by every measure, than between the master and the slave?

A better scale would be to compare the standard of living of the poorest in a society to the richest. If the poor are well fed, have multiple flat screen televisions, at least one car and the finest sneakers… as compared to another country where starvation is common, housing is filthy, leaky and subject to collapse, where it can be obtained, which of the two is more just? The wealthy will always have a high standard of living and the poor will always have a lower standard of living, that will never change, and is only exacerbated by socialism’s benefit to the politically favored versus the politically disfavored. When the actual disparity between the standard of living between the rich and poor is low however, the rich claim the environment and thus the carrying capacity of the planet is threatened. The truth is, it is not what they have that makes them happy, it is what we don’t have that they have. To that end, they use spurious arguments like the gap between the rich, (themselves) and the poor, (us) to further their selfish ends.

When we use the standard of living of the wealthy versus the poor we are using a metric that can be measured empirically, is objective and not subjective and is far more indicative of the real justness of an economic system. Moreover, if we add the rate of rise of the standard of living in a given system, we have a much more accurate measure. This is not done because if it were the market system would always win out hands down. Since the New Class sets the parameters of any debate on the justness of a given economic system, and they are the ones with political favor and power, they always seek to give us false choices, hanging us on the horns of a dilemma, so we are gored no matter what we choose, resulting in a system that further empowers them.

Since socialism in all it’s pernicious incarnations is simply distributive justice by political favor, and since the New Class has both political favor and political power, they benefit most when society is socialist. Therefore they want socialism despite the very real damage to the lives and welfare of the people. To this end, it is in the egoists self interests to use spurious claims of economic justice, to goad us into allowing government actions that do real harm to our economic, cultural and social interests. Spurious claims are by their nature difficult to counter and so they become memes in our society. It is up to us then, as self interested human beings, to do everything in our power to point them out as well as the sophist nature of them, else we fall into the rabbit hole of absurdity in the name of justice.

Tolerance

Thursday, January 23rd, 2014

Dear Friends,

It seems to me tolerance is a one way street to the political left. They have no tolerance whatsoever but demand absolute tolerance from the rest of us. This may be the definition of hypocrisy, but the left bathes in hypocrisy, it is the left’s bread and butter, to them it is a sacrament. What is not so obvious is the pernicious nature of it. Our society, government and culture are damaged greatly when a faction with so much political power are so intolerant of other points of view, other religions and other philosophies. What drives them to such heights of intolerance and hate is their innate self doubt. They know in their minds and hearts they are wrong on most issues, and their leadership will inevitably lead to poverty and violence, but they are committed to their ideology, so to have any hope of winning in a political contest they must stomp down any debate about issues, with spurious demands for tolerance, which in the parlance of the left, is approval and approbation. The longer we allow this level of intolerance of our Constitutional republic, morality, rights and liberty the lower we will fall.

Societies rise in virtue and fall in vice. This is the primary lesson of all of human history. There is not one example in the annuls of humanity where a society rose in vice and fell in virtue. Virtues such as Christian morality, prayer, liberty, traditional marriage, limited government, hard work, along with so much else of what has made America great, are despised by the left. Yet the left is constantly talking of this or that iniquity as being a moral imperative, they see liberty as unconscionable. We are to hang our head in shame if we pray in public, but the reprobate who uses his EBT card on strippers and prostitutes, is defended.

They demand not only tolerance of the intolerable but acceptance as normal and even demand our funding morally reprehensible actions. I personally find abortion to be the evil of our day. In the future people will look back at us, as we do the slave owners of yore, and they will wonder at how we could have been so blind at the wickedness of it. The left however, sees abortion as a sacrament and so I must not only tolerate abortion, but pay for it. I was not only supposed to tolerate a picture of the Virgin Mary decorated in feces, the sign of Baal, but I was even forced to pay for it! While I am cowed by the ever present threat of State violence if I should disagree, they cannot tolerate even hearing a prayer said in public, they cannot tolerate a manger, smoking, SUVs or capitalism.

I am expected to send my children to be “taught” in their schools, where they undermine my religion, the morals I try to teach, they indoctrinate our children into their political mindset with money they take from me at gun point, and they seek to teach ever child the exact same thing through Common Core curriculum. While more and more teens graduate high school without knowing how to read, write, history or geography. If I were to go to a school and speak about God, or the miracle of the free market, I would be forcibly removed, but they can teach how to have gay sex, teach there is no God, teach their twisted version of history and inculcate communism to our children. They cannot tolerate my drinking too large a soda, my eating meat, my right to keep and bear arms or my free speech.

The left has raised hypocrisy and hate to an art form. Their intolerance is more then mere hypocrisy, it is damaging to our society, culture and indeed government. While we are ordered to obey their absurd rules and regulations to the letter, they feel no compunction at all to follow any standards… even their own. The Constitution is an anathema to them because it limits their ability to control the rest of us and so is a stumbling stone to them. Those of us who want the freedom our Constitution guarantees must tolerate the redefining of it, to comport with the left’s need to dominate the rest of us, while they demand our approval else we are “haters.” Leftists see no irony at all when they wear a Che Guevara tee shirt, as they give speeches on the immorality of war, the free market and the rich… while vacationing on Nantucket island. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so destructive.

Sincerely,

Obama’s Kraken

Thursday, November 7th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the catastrophe that is Obama care is showing the deep level of incompetence and duplicity of the Obama administration, in reality, Obama care is a modern Kraken, released to destroy our healthcare system and level the ground for single payer. The fiasco of the web site is only the smallest problem. The roll out gets worse every day and the administration along with democrats are determined to get the Kraken out onto our streets. The damage it will wreak on our economy, jobs, and personal health is astounding, let along the profound damage it is and will do to our Constitutional rights.

The web site is the most simple type of HTML code to write. It is nothing more than a self populating database that emails the data to an insurer! This type of web application is available free over the internet for web site sign up and news letters. To have failed so very badly having taken so much money, between 100 million and 600 million, depending on the source, and time… 2 years, shows a level of incompetence that boggles the mind. The excuses the White House are coming up with would be laughable, if the money didn’t come from you and I. They didn’t expect a lot of people would sign on? Seriously? They mandated we all sign on! I suppose they were hampered by the web being so new, the sun was in their eyes and their shoe laces came untied…

As I said before, the web site is the smallest part of the problems with Obama care, a far more serious issue is that so many people are getting cancellation notices from their insurance providers because of the mandates in the law. This could be mitigated if other similar policies were available at the same or lower cost but the costs are skyrocketing! In many if not most cases the monthly premium is double what people were paying before the Kraken was released. Moreover the co pay and deductibles are getting insanely high. It was foretold by the market that this would happen. The prices of health insurance stocks rose dramatically when Obama care was deemed passed. The costs, deductibles and co pays are so high that the policies are basically useless. Expensive useless policies we are forced by law to buy!

Meanwhile, as our insurance premiums are going into orbit on a ticking ICBM the hours for those with jobs are being cut! I am agog that this isn’t the story of the day. Obama care creates the incentives for firms to cut the hours of employees so they don’t fall into the most expensive mandates of Obama care. Job growth, due to Obama Care, is almost non existent… which has the effect of lowering wages. As demand for labor goes down and the amount of labor from new graduates and illegal aliens made legal go up, wages MUST go down! This is economic 101. Even a simpleton should understand this… so why doesn’t Obama. Is he less than a simpleton?

Roe v Wade was based on doctor patient privilege. A doctor cannot be forced to disclose a client’s personal information to government due to Constitutional limits on the government’s ability to seize our personal data. Obama care turns the whole idea on it’s head, with doctors being mandated to ask if their patients have guns in the house, then reporting the answer to the government! That is the tip of the iceberg poking into the hull. Every single aspect of our lives will be open for any government bureaucrat to see… and law enforcement officer as well.

Imagine, someone goes to the doctor, the doctor asks if they are taking drugs. They must answer no, else it will be reported to the government, so the doctor performs surgery based on this wrongful information. The patient then dies because she is taking Ecstacy and it reacts with the doctor’s medicine. Human lives will certainly be lost due to the pernicious incentives of Obama care.

Now that the Kraken has been released we are at it’s mercy. Those intrepid would be Perseus that fought valiantly to stop the opening of the monster’s cage were vilified and denigrated… it continues today even with all the horror stories coming out. The victims litter the beach, human liberty, Constitutional rule, our economic well being, our children’s futures and our very lives. It looks increasingly like the problem is not so much incompetence but duplicity by this administration. Government is the only human institution that the more it fails the more powerful it gets. Until we have single payer, or in other words, Nazi health care… As the Kraken wanders through our cities and towns it will be as Godzilla stomping through Tokyo… except we will be the helpless people on subway trains scream bug eyed as he looks in on us...

Sincerely,

The Republican Party is Dead… Long Live the Tea Party

Monday, November 4th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me… the republican party is in a death spiral of it’s own making. No political party can stab it’s base in the back, over and over, and survive as a viable party for long. That the republican party has gotten away with it for so long, and not succumbed to extinction, is testament to the hope of the American people for limited government. This trend has been happening for a long time but has accelerated of late. This bodes ill for American democratic representation and Constitutional rule unless the trend can be stopped. The means are at hand however.

In the last Presidential election only a paltry 40% of the electorate cast a ballot. This historically low turnout means that Obama won the election with only 20-25% of the American people voting for him. A pathetic quarter of the people voted the president into office. If you think about it, 20% of the people also believe in aliens, ghosts and vampires! (I would argue they are the same people who voted for Obama). Low voter turnout has been a mainstay in American elections for decades. The thing that is pitiful however is that politicians blame the voters and not themselves.

No one blames themselves for their own problems. It is a function of human nature. We all prefer to point the finger of blame at someone else. That this goes on in political circles is not hard to understand. Politicians however have paid consultants that get huge sums of money to explain to politicians why they loose elections. These highly paid eggheads should have the ability to see beyond their own noses and mine the data as to why so few people turn out. In this they fall into a thought trap, or in other words, group think.

This group think permeates the highest echelons of the republican party. They believe the only way to win elections is to go after a smaller and smaller faction of the electorate. Romney won the highly touted “undecided” but lost the election. This is clearly because he was a fatally flawed candidate. Obama’s biggest weakness, Obama care, was taken off the table by Romney’s presidential bid. Obama care is only a symptom and not the disease however. Romney never went after the republican base. He instead ignored and even vilified them. As a result, they didn’t vote for him.

This is typical of republican politics. They despise their base as upstarts, who want more liberty and less government, when the “enlightened” republican elite want more government and less liberty. The only difference between the republicans and democrats is… who controls the tyrant’s power. Neither wants to limit the power, scope and role of government, both want to increase it. Republicans believe their base is so stupid they will fall into line even when the republican elite spit in our faces.

This is proven by the Bush presidency. The republican party controlled a plurality of seats in both houses of congress and the presidency. Did we see a diminishing of the scope of government? No. Did we see balanced budgets? No. Did we even see a walking back of entitlements? No! What we did see, was a new entitlement, prescription drug coverage. We got higher deficit spending and thousands more pages of regulation. The republican base is not blind, they are not stupid, they know a liar when they see one, and refuse to participate in the destruction of the United States, by giving these liars and frauds legitimacy by their vote.

This is why the Tea Party faction has grown so powerful, despite the vilification of us. The Tea Party, teabaggers as the elite call us, are a truly grass roots movement. Those who understand that the republicans, as well as the democrats, want unrestricted illegal immigration, ever increasing government, taxes and regulation, regardless of the consequences to the American people, want to change course, but we all know, to a man, that neither the republican old guard, nor the democrat party, will give us what we demand and OUR Constitution requires.

That is why the republican party is in a death spiral and the democrat party is joining them. They both stand against the will of the people, the dictates of our Constitution, and both lie to our faces. They go after an increasingly small lunatic fringe of the public for votes. We are standing up however, wiping republican and democrat spit from our faces, and making ourselves heard. Obama care is only the latest in a series of slaps of our faces and knives in our backs, we refuse to sit any longer. Once Tea Party people get more seats at the table, we will see more turnout of an electorate, that today, increasingly feels disenfranchised. Until then, the republican elite should be on warning, the jig is up.

Sincerely,

John Pepin

The Rise of the Proletariat

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the two parties in the US don’t represent the people, they represent two factions of the elite. The democrat party represents the so called “New Class” while the republican party represents the bourgeois. In this struggle they both have as their primary adversary, and pawns to the game, the American people. In this they are united, that is why the Tea Party, a grass roots organization that actually does represent the needs and wants of the vast majority of the American Electorate, must be destroyed. The two old parties exploit the people to their own ends… not ours. This is a paradigm that must be overturned else we will become serfs in all but name.

The “New Class” as it has been termed are the intelligentsia. Those with advanced degrees. If we examine who has led every socialist revolution in the past, they have never been led by the proletariat, (as Marxists doctrine claims they would be), they have always been started, funded and the ideologically fueled by the academics, and professional revolutionaries, who exploited the peasantry to do the dirty work. In all cases the working people have been the victims of socialist revolutions. This new class becomes more Marxist the higher you go in academia, wealth and political power. If we examine the top echelons of Harvard, Yale and the other Ivy league schools, we will find a plurality of revolutionary Marxists and anarchists. Neither of which have the best interest of the workers at heart. The unbiased media are also members of this new class.

What I mean by the bourgeois, is the owners of the means of production, as Marx did. The definition of the owners of the means of production however are not what you might think. If you have an IRA or 401K, you are the bourgeois, if you own stocks or bonds or if you have a well stocked tool kit, you are the owner of the means of production. Entrepreneurs are a faction of the bourgeois as are family run business men. The CEO and the board of directors of a company are not the bourgeois however, those people, (who control the means of production as opposed to own it), are members of the new class.

Unfortunately it is not quite that simple. Both parties have at the top members of the new class. They run both parties. That is why they fight over trivialities, like the magnitude of a tax hike, when what we the people want are lower taxes. They agree that they should control everything… but each wants the power for themselves. They consider themselves superior to us because of their academic achievements. They hold us in disdain, believing us incapable of running our own lives, and so we are in need of their enlightened guidance. Both parties have this as their fundamental ethos.

The Tea party however was formed by the people. We sought a seat at the table of power. But the elite hold us in even greater contempt for it. They see the Tea party as upstarts who should bow to the great wisdom of the elite, in moving our society to a socialist one, where the State is the arbiter of everything and the goods of society are distributed by political favor. Since they have the political favor, this paradigm that they espouse, is a nakedly self serving one. The Tea Party is just as guilty of this as are the elite. We seek to meet our self interests by having a seat at the table too.

The primary difference is that we don’t seek to wrest the power of the State for our own aggrandizement or personal enrichment, we seek to limit the power of the State, so we won’t have to labor under the yoke of tyranny. As Thrasymachus said in The Republic, Most people only want to live their lives in peace, but great men want power… We seek a society where we can get ahead if we earn it, and where political favor is less of a factor in where we end up in society, than our personal merits. In short we seek a meritocracy. This entire thought process is an anathema to the elite in both parties.

This is why both the Republican old guard and the entirety of the Democrat party are so vicious in their attacks on politicians who back the Tea Party. There is no limit to the vitriol they will dump on the Tea Party, and by extension, us. The Constitution is a road block and so must be changed, by hook or by crook, but changed it must be. Remember, you don’t have to change the words in a Constitution to change it’s meaning… only the meaning of the words.

To the person with his or her eyes open, the new class is in fact a very old class… the aristocracy, seeking to reestablish their old privileges. So, the Tea party is in fact the true proletariat uprising, struggling against the chains the old powers are trying to bind us with… as Marx envisioned. We don’t want violent revolution, or blood in the streets, we just want peace, prosperity and liberty. To the wannabe dictator however there is nothing as distasteful as a pawn that has an opinion. Pawns are to be sacrificed for the greater good… the good of the elite, or in other words, the new aristocracy.

Our Constitutional Crisis

Thursday, October 17th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, the debt ceiling and government shutdown is not about spending, and it is not about winning or loosing a mere political battle, it is a Constitutional crisis. The needless rhetoric that has been thrown around during this debate has been a way to change the subject to mere name calling and fear mongering. The malpractice of the media that calls itself unbiased has been even more pathetic than usual and is a large part of why the real issue has been overlooked. Our republic is jeopardized by this type of emotional manipulation of us, by the political elite, the media and intellectuals.

The Constitutional principle in question is separation of powers and the power of Congress to control spending. This is the only fundamental power left to the neutered legislative branch of our government. In this debate, as it now appears, the Executive branch has seized almost all of the powers the Constitution bestowed on the Legislative branch. The power of the purse, as it is called, has now fallen to the Executive as has the power to legislate via the Bureaucracy. Once this episode is over the Legislative branch will have no power whatsoever. Even the power of oversight has been taken from the impotent Legislature by Executive privilege, stonewalling and outright lying under oath.

The rhetoric that has been used by Obama, the media and the democrats has been over the top. They have called the Tea Party wing of the republican party, bomb throwers, terrorists, and hostage takers among other detestable things. The toadies in the media have backed the progressive elite up even to the point of agreeing with them. Elenore Clift is one such example Sunday on the McLaughlin Group. To draw a moral equivalence between people who engage in such evil acts as killing innocents, with people who are making a principled stand for Constitutional rule, shows one of two things. Either those who draw the equivalence are horribly broken inside or they are liars. Both disqualify them from holding any power over anyone.

I hadn’t written The Frog and the Scorpion a month before the AP phone scandal broke. We later found out FOX news reporters phones were being tapped as well. The press feigned outrage but in fact quivered in their boots. Terrified of the power they had bestowed upon the new imperial President. Today news reporters have few sources and those they do meet them in dark alleys and fear they are being followed. Story after story has come out describing the fear the press holds of this president. In this latest struggle between the imperial president and the legislature, the media has uniformly followed the the talking points of their oppressor. Perhaps they have Stockholm Syndrome? Regardless, if it was out of fear, cognitive dissonance or blind obedience, they have done themselves and our country a great disservice.

The separation of powers was supposed to be a bulwark against an executive becoming imperial. Our republic was founded on the knowledge, historically tyranny has risen from the executive branch, in a republic. Montesquieu made the argument that the Judiciary should be separated from the Executive Branch to further weaken it and prevent this outcome. Our founding fathers agreed and placed the Judicial Branch into our Constitution. The provision for a free press was an idea incorporated into our Constitution as another means to prevent tyranny. As this sad episode has shown us, this president has effectively neutered the Legislative Branch, he has whipped the unbiased media into line, he disregards Judicial rulings, he enforces the law arbitrarily and he is caught lying to the American people without consequence. In the Federalist Papers Madison, Jay and Hamilton warn this would be the end of our republic and limited government. I fear that unless drastic measures are not taken, like impeachment or installing a NUMA, to reign in this president, WE will be the generation that lost liberty… to our eternal shame.

Government Shutdown

Sunday, October 6th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, Obama is saying to the American people, “resistance is futile.” In the science fiction series Star Trek Next Generation, the Borg were an evil alien race that lived in a collective. The Borg assimilated other people into the collective against their wills. Just as Obama care does. In many speeches Obama made before his election campaign and subsequent election he avowed he was in favor of nationalized health care. The speeches are freely available on line for anyone to see. The strong arm tactics of this administration will brooch no resistance to the collectivization of our health care. Judging by the Obama administration’s all too willing use of the mechanism of government, to punish political opponents, the seizing of American’s health care by government will give this administration hitherto unprecedented power over the lives, health and fortunes of every American.

We are told by the collectivists that America needs more diversity. This has become a mantra. Diversity is raised to a sacrament by the progressives, the incarnation of the collectivists in America. Now this is strange because real diversity in thought is not allowed by the progressives, in both the democrat and republican parties. Instead, anyone who believes differently than the collectivists are called, terrorists, anarchists and hostage takers. It would seem that anyone who truly believes in diversity would welcome a debate and encourage diverse ways of looking at a problem. So we have a dilemma, do we believe the words of the progressives, or their actions?

Obama will broach no discussion of the law that has savaged the American economy, and in doing so has lowered the economic outlook for people the World over. As I have written before in many blogs, the law that is called Obama care, (The Affordable Care Act), is an economic catastrophe. Those that understand this have taken a stand against this collectivization of the health care system in America. As the new leviathan of a law is implemented it is becoming plain to see that it not only doesn’t work but produces tremendous economic friction. Obama care will be the death knell of small business. This works to the collectivist’s favor. Schumpeter said that government must fetter business so that all businesses become giant, and thus will be easier for government to take over when the time is right.

Scott Brown was elected in Massachusetts simply to stop Obama care. His election in that uber left state was a testament of how much the American people didn’t want a collective thrust upon us. This is a clear statement of the wants of the American people at the time, never mind the polls showing the utter disdain we hold for Obama care today. The progressives would broach no stopping their assimilation of the American health care system under political control so they simply “deemed” the law passed, to undermine the results of an election. I would love to deem my taxes paid, but I suspect that tactic is closed to you and I.

Obama has said he believes in collective salvation. This pernicious theory is predicated on the notion that the rest of us must be forced to believe as the collective, else no one will be saved. This stands in direct contradiction to the teachings of the prophets of every religion. But is in line with the teachings of Marx and Engels. Collectivists demand we assimilate else we are to be destroyed… personally, (like they did Sara Palin), politically, (like they did Michele Bachman) and economically, (like they are doing to America).

History is the best means of divining the future. That which has been done in the past clearly can happen, but that which has never occurred may not be possible. The Nazis brought nationalized health care to Europe, reducing the fortunes of all the people in Europe to political favor. Dissension under a collectivist regime is never allowed, despite their calls for diversity, (until the collectivist gains power). The collectivist will undermine the will of the people if it suits his or her ends and even salvation is collectivized by the progressives. Because to the true believer in the collective, the Borg is the ultimate goal, where our species consciousness supersedes our individuality and we are relieved of our humanity in favor of the collective. So when Obama claims Obama care is settled law, and refuses to negotiate with his political opponents, he shows his true intentions by parroting the Borg, “Resistance is futile.” To that I would answer, “Resistance is divine.”

Things that Work and Things that Don’t Work

Thursday, September 26th, 2013

Dear Friends,

It seems to me, no matter how much someone wants a thing to be true, if it is not, it is not, and never will be. The desire of a person bears not a whit on reality. We might want to fly without the use of wings, and many have died trying, but the simple truth is, we need the use of machinery to fly. Moreover, no matter how many times a thing that will not work is tried, it will not work. The average man and woman understands this very basic concept, because we are subject to the results of our actions, and we bear the costs of those that do not work, but the elite have no such training in reality. The road is paved for them so they need not stumble. This makes them appear deft but in reality it hobbles them, and profoundly distorts their ability to discern truth from fiction and right from wrong.

Take economics. The elite love and worship at the feet of John Menard Keynes. This economist gave the elite not just permission to deficit spend but he made it a duty. The elite in every country on Earth believe in Keynesian economics. Because Keynes gave them an excuse to do what they really want… tax and spend. There is no thought required to open a checkbook and write a check, especially if the money is earned by someone else.

The elite don’t have to suffer for their bad decisions, the rest of us do. The elite destroy the economy through high taxes and regulation, and they get richer, while the rest of us get poorer. Notice how under Obama, the supposed champion of the poor and middle class, the world economy is muddling along, but the wealthy’s fortunes are sailing? Is it a coincidence, while the wages of Americans have taken a historic hit under this Keynesian, the stock market is breaking records weekly? The answer is simple, money printing has allowed the elite to escape the negative effects of their own policies. You and I on the other hand are stuck in the mire of the Keynesian swamp.

Every time Keynesian economic theory has been used it has resulted in failure of the economy. There is not one example where Keynesian theory has gotten a country out of recession, while every example where this fellow’s theory has been used, has resulted in economic malaise. Some notable examples are, Woodrow Wilson’s magnificent recession, Franklin Roosevelt’s Great Depression, Carter’s stagflation and now Obama’s great recession. Is it coincidental, that the economic times under Keynesians are so unique in their poverty generation, they are named?

The elite so want Keynesianism to work they will never stop trying. They cough up excuses like phloem, “we didn’t spend enough,” or “we didn’t spend long enough.” The answer is never that the policy is flawed. The elite do the same thing over and over, always getting the same result, economic stagnation, but they never tire of it. Largely because they don’t suffer the negative effects, we do. They want Keynesian economics to work so badly they cannot imagine it wont… someday. Since they don’t feel the effects of low wages, except in lower employee cost, they have no problem enacting a flawed economic policy, over and over.

There is an interview of Frederik Hayek on Youtube in which that great economist laments being right. He wrote the book, The Road to Serfdom. In which he extols the virtue of laissez faire economics and the palliative effect of low taxes and regulation on an economy. While Keynes told the elite to print, tax, regulate and spend. Keynes was, and still is a hero to the elite, while Hayek is a villain. The few times Hayek’s policies have been implemented the results were quick and decisive. Under Coolidge the economy surged and we got the Roaring Twenties. Ronald Reagan did it again with similar results, but Reagan was hobbled by a democratic congress that was intransigent, they so loved Keynesian policies they fought Reagan at every turn. Despite the push back, the fact is, Reagan’s policies pulled the US out from Carter’s stagflation and ushered in the boom of the eighties. Obama’s Keynesian policies have eliminated all the economic gains since then.

In the halls of power, the elite sit with their backs to us. They suffer no ill effects of their policies, and to insure that fact, they exempt themselves from their own laws. Like Obama care. Since they never suffer for their own policies they have no incentive to learn. Why would they go about it any differently in the future? Their power is assured by the unbiased media, who dutifully pillory any other point of view, than that of the progressive elite. Listen to what the unbiased media call the Tea Party. For the elite, to do something that has never worked, over and over, is genius, for the rest of us… it is insanity.

Sincerely,
